  1. assalamu alaykum brothers and sisters, im a male convert to islam, during the past months ive felt lost and depressed I feel like Im not motivated much in my life, I converted to islam last year when I was 17 and became shia at the beginning of this year, since becoming a muslim ive felt a big distance between my friends and my family. I try not to do haram stuff but sometimes I feel forced like listening to music because I want to fit in with my friends and family. I dont even have any muslim friends because I go to a catholic school and my family is non muslim, and I feel like i cant relate with the people with the mosque because I'm spanish and most people at my mosque are arabs and I feel like a barrier between me and them. these struggles have led me losing interest in my religion and wanting to learn more like i used to. I dont know whats wrong with me honestly, I was thinking that maybe getting married will help me get more motivated with my religion and having someone of the same religion as me since I dont even have a muslim family and Ive tried to avoid myself from any haram relationships but i dont know if i would be accepted in an arab family. what should i do i really feel lost like I dont belong in islam
  2. 1.Why is it that the prayer must be in Arabic, wouldn’t God prefer us to pray knowing exactly what we say so it has more meaning? 2. Do I have to implement Arabic words like subhanAllah, alhamdulillah, inshallah in my vocabulary when talking to other people in order to be considered Muslim? 3. Is it permissible for me to recite a dua using the English translation from the Arabic so I know what I’m saying? Thank you
  3. Assalamu alaykum, I have some questions regarding the Daily Nafl Prayers 1. are we supposed to pray them before and after the fard prayer or do we choose when to pray them? 2. are there any videos that show how to pray nafl prayers? Thank you.
  4. According to Sayyid Al Sistani the general rule is that men only need to cover their private parts, so why are men not allowed to wear shorts in Iran?
  5. Is it permissible to hold hands with spouse in public without any signs of affection or anything disrespectful.
  6. @shiaconvert17 [Mod Note: See the topic at this link:] https://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235056212-shaving-pubic-hair/ Salam, I’ve heard it is Sunnah to shave armpit and pubic hair but will just trimming it be enough?
  7. Salam, I’m a 18 year old guy convert living in Australia, I currently live with my mum and my brother so basically my mum owns everything in the house. I’m currently working with my dad so basically what I have is my earnings from work which I’m just saving up I don’t own anything else valuable. Do I have to pay zakat from my earnings?
  8. As-salamu alaykum brothers and sisters, Ive converted to islam 2 years ago and alhamdullilah i'm thinking about marrying soon. I met an iraqi sister and have met her parents and they seem to like me however before proposing I want to have some opinions from u people on what it is marrying an Iraqi as I'm Spanish and I think I may have some cultural differences with her family. I would like to know what to expect when proposing for marriage and if it's there something additional her parents would expect from me when proposing. Thank you.
