  3. Bismillah. Salaam. Hot rains may point to global warming, climate change, and generally the destruction of the Earth's environment. Wasalaam.
  4. Bismillah, salaam. I'm curious. Hoping to attend, Insha'Allah. Wasalaam.
  5. Bismillah, salaam. As for batini leaders, as @Cool said, many of the Ahl al-Sunnah accept the 12 Imams (عليه السلام). However, as for the zahiri leaders, there are also disputes. There is certainly at least one group, as far as I recall, that calls the 4 Sunni Rashidun caliphs as the first 4 imams including Imam 'Ali al-Murtadha (عليه السلام), then Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba (عليه السلام), then Mu'awiyah ibn Abu Sufyan, then Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah, to fill in the list of 12 successors of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). I think the reference for this is in Sunan Ibn Majah as well as another book, but I cannot recall it. Wasalaam.
  6. Bismillah, salaam. There was an attack on a Imam Bargah in Peshawar, Pakistan, during Jumu'ah prayers. 30 martyred, over 50 injured. Please pray for the maghfirah of the martyred, well-being and patience for the injured and afflicted families, and of course for the swift advent of our Imam a.j.t.f (عليه السلام) so the enemies of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), and His Messenger's Progeny (عليه السلام) may be brought to 'Adl. Wasalaam.
  7. Bismillah, salaam. If a person has repented and improved themselves to follow the commandments of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) then if Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) accepts their repentance, what reason do I have not to? Besides, I'm certainly not timelessly infallible, so how can I hope to marry a person who is timelessly infallible? And even if I was, again, if Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) accepts their repentance, what reason do I have not to? Of course, as @Cool quoted from the Qur'an, someone who is habitual in this act is forbidden to us. Wasalaam.

  9. Bismillah, Salaam.
Please pray for my academics. University is being very difficult right now and I'm finding it hard to focus after my paternal grandmother's death... Please pray for her maghfirat and patience for my family.
    May Allah reward you Graciously...

  10. ﷲ اکبر I am so happy to see so much discussion! I am learning a lot. I just saw through the massive influx of post just now, since ShiaChat got banned in Pakistan again and I am currently giving my university semester finals which are keeping me busy. I hope this topic keeps traction, as truly this is very intriguing. جزاک ﷲ Thank you to everyone who has shared their thoughts so far!
  11. Hmm. I was thinking about this. The Euphrates uncovering a mountain of gold. Is it possible that this is a metaphorical? Perhaps that mountain of gold can represent something... It seems unlikely, and I am not learned enough to support the idea myself, but I thought I would mention it. JazakAllah, all that is a lot of information. I am too lowly in thinking regarding these matters, so would it be possible for you to perhaps add some commentary for better understanding? I would appreciate it a lot and so would other forum members I am sure. JazakAllah. A very intriguing discussion this is becoming MashaAllah.
  12. Profoud! I did not think of Shaam including Anatolia, the Ottomans, the red flags, NATO actions. Wow. That distinction is a fair point... And yes, the Sufyani and the Dajjal are distinct figures. As for the Sufyani being an Arab, couldn't one argue that is not necessary in modern times? He could be considered of Sufyani descent even if once someone from the descendants of Abu Sufyan went to these other regions and passed on the Sufyani line. After all, it is well known that the Infallible Imams (عليه السلام) were not all pure Arabs by the time of Imam al-Baqiyatullah (عليه السلام), due to the mothers s.a of those Imams (عليه السلام) being from regions such as North Africa, etc, though it is very possible Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) changed nature's way for the Imams (عليه السلام) as a miracle, which would explain why Ahadith state Imam al-Baqiyatullah (عليه السلام) will have an Arab complexion. As for the rising from Shaam, that is a very fair point. But could the Hadith mean that first he takes control of Damascus, through a less 'visible' operation. after which he would openly make claims that would place him as the Sufyani? That Hadith is also very compelling. A lot of sources online also suggest that the man will rise from Yemen, and this Hadith does seem to support that idea. JazakAllah for your insight! Please, discuss this more, it is a very interesting and even important topic. Other forum members should come in too! :)
  13. I have seen on other forums online Shi'as discussing the situation in Yemen and Afghanistan, and how the Yamani and Khorasani may soon rise given the current situations. Alternatively, some of them also contend that instead of Afghanistan, the region is Eastern Iran, as today that is known as Khorasan primarily. That also made me think, if we choose to ignore modern names, then couldn't it be argued that instead of modern day Syria, the Sufyani could emerge from old ash-Shaam? Meaning Greater Syria/Syria-Palestine/Levant? With that logic, one could easily argue that the likely origin is Israel for the Sufyani, or at least somewhere nearby. What are your thoughts on all of this? JazakAllah

  19. My eyes tear up at this kalaam... O Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)... Please reveal Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام) soon and make us amongst his supporters...
  20. Bismillah Salaam Firstly, I hope you find patience in your pain, and so does everyone in pain. Secondly, the answer is most certainly that do not look into such matters for revenge, for if this were the way, us Shi'a would resort to black magic to personally bring pain to those who are enemies of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and his progeny (عليه السلام). Verily, the greatest injustice that can be done is towards them, then greater towards the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), and the greatest towards Allah Himself. So if it is prohibited for us to look to such methods in even these cases, then injustices towards our own beings are most certainly no exception. The concept of justice against those who have wronged, oppressed, committed transgressions, etc inherently relies on an authority that is beyond the human understanding of perfect, and thus Allah Himself. Most people are well aware of this. But, with this, an intrinsic property of justice then is that at times, matters must be left to Allah so that he may deal with such people with perfect utmost justice. Surely, this does not mean one should say, refuse to defend themselves when attacked, rather one should defend themselves and do their part in justice generally in any situation, but in some cases, the part one must do is having patience and faith in Allah and His Divine Justice that yields reward to the good, such as those patient and oppressed, in the Hereafter with certainty and even the current world if that is best, and yields due retribution to the bad, such as those who oppress, in the Hereafter with certainty and even the current world if that is best. Not only are you jeopardising the chances of perfect justice being in your favour and against your oppressor by trying to do what is more than your part (for example by killing someone who tried to fist-fight you only), but in your case specifically, you are also doing so severely by resorting to such highly prohibited measures. I recall a saying from one of the Imams, I believe it was Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (عليه السلام), but I am not sure.... (If someone knows what saying I refer to in the following, please do let me know of the exact words of the saying and who it is attributed to, along with a reference preferably) I paraphrase it, but the gist of it is that if a trial beings you closer to Allah then it is a test and if a trial brings you further from Allah then it is a curse. My message at the end is that, please, do not make such a grave mistake. Wasalam
  21. Bismillah, Salaam.

    I hope you have a good day, insha'Allah :)
