I always have it in mind. At the moment my intention was to become a Police officer after university with the aim of receiving a commissioned role. However, the way that a lot of western governments are producing anti Islamic laws which have a effect on how Police treat the Islamic communities it has certainly put doubts in my mind. I guess I'll figure it out in a couple of years from now but certainly Hawza for me is something worth considering.
What is it that you're currently studying at University brother?

My first experience with shi’a Islam before I converted was being invited to go to Ashura with a shi’a friend from high school and at that point I really only had a little understanding of Islam. Like @Islandsandmirrors has said it’s not about literally being invited by the prophet or the Imams. I felt like I was gifted to learn more about Imam Hussain by Imam Hussain himself not directly and physically but I guess you could say spiritually.  I got to experience his sacrifice, his story and reason for resistance as a Christian, I beat my chest as a Christian for Hussain and Masha’Allah I became a Muslim not long after and my first experience was and always will be with Imam Hussain.

Wholehearted Shi'a reacted to ali_fatheroforphans in 'Cancer' - A Gift from Allah
    Salam,
Ali Banat, a Muslim millionaire who lived in Sydney Australia, got diagnosed with cancer around 2015. Ali led a very lavish lifestyle, as he had expensive cars, watches etc. However everything changed when he found out that he'd been diagnosed with cancer. Upon finding out that he had very little days left in this life, Ali spend his life giving charity, helping the poor, doing humanitarian work. Ali even sold his expensive luxuries to the poor kids in Africa. This is the reality of death - the destroyer of all pleasures.
The brother described cancer as a "gift from Allah". Ali passed away (May Allah be Merciful to him) earlier this week and gave his final message:
    This was him before:

Wholehearted Shi'a reacted to Aabiss_Shakari in Iran ready to Sue USA
Tehran wants to sue Washington for its indirect involvement in dual terrorist attacks in Iran last year, claiming that the president himself repeatedly admitted the US is responsible for the rise of the terrorist group. During his election campaign, US President Donald Trump repeatedly accused his predecessor’s administration – in particular, Democratic Party rival and former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton – of creating Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS).
“Hillary Clinton created ISIS with Obama,” Trump told his supporters in January 2016. In a CBS 60 Minutes interview that aired July 17, 2016, he reiterated: “Hillary Clinton invented ISIS with her stupid policies.”
Now Tehran is turning Trump’s rhetoric into a case against the US, blaming Washington for its alleged role in orchestrating terrorist attacks against the Iranian parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini’s shrine in Tehran in June 2017, for which IS claimed responsibility.
“During the presidential campaign, Trump clearly spoke about the performance of his rival, Mrs. Clinton, saying that the US has created the ISIL,” Abolfazl Aboutorabi, a member of parliament’s judicial commission, said on Tuesday.
Noting that a state leader’s word must be reliable enough to serve as proof in court, Aboutorabi announced that parliament has decided to initiate a lawsuit against Washington in the “international” court. “The public prosecutor has also filed a lawsuit in this regard,” Aboutorabi added, according to FARS News Agency.
At least 17 people died and dozens were injured in gun and bomb attacks at the Iranian parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini’s shrine in Tehran on June 7, 2017. According to the Iranian Intelligence Ministry, the five attackers who were neutralized by security forces were Iranian citizens who joined IS before returning to Iran in summer 2016.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) accused Saudi Arabia of masterminding the attacks, saying that the assaults “happened only a week after the meeting between the US president [Donald Trump] and the [Saudi] backward leaders who support terrorists.” While Washington sent condolences over the tragedy, Tehran rejected those “claims of friendship.”
The Islamic Republic’s idea to take the US to court for “creating” IS comes less than a month after a federal judge in New York found Iran liable for the deaths of more than 1,000 people in the September 11 attacks and ordered Tehran to pay more than $6 billion in damages.
Iran rejected Judge George Daniels’ default ruling, accusing the US judicial system of attempts to “rewrite history.” In its response, the foreign ministry reiterated that Iran had nothing to do with organizing or financing the 9/11 attacks. Previously, Judge Daniels issued default judgments against Iran, in 2011 and 2016, ordering the Islamic Republic to pay billions of dollars to victims of the attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people.

I think there is an image built up in many European minds that a bunch of dark people want to come in rape, not work/steal jobs and force the local Europeans populations to convert to Islam where we later can create a worldwide caliphate from within after we steal their women and have many african babies.
This man's act of humanity has caused that view to crumble because we saw his act of heroism as a good deed which flies in the face of this racist islamophobic mindset after having reminding ourselves that they're human as well, capable of doing good. I salute this man.

What else can be expected when you have a society in which there is an emphasis taught at a young age in order seek happiness we have to buy material items which only last for a short time provide little joy before they break or need an update we need to pay for,  then we're back to being depressed.
These words might seem empty to some but if you literally depend on Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى you'll be happier. God never dies, god can't break, god doesn't desire profits and GOD IS GREAT! He is the most reliable source of joy. This is also coming from a westerner who had to experience this hardship before Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى gave me the help I need to be on the right path. I feel more connected to places like Iran than I do Australia.

Wholehearted Shi'a reacted to Mohamed1993 in Leftist governments in Latin America
I was reading a pretty good article earlier about Latin American governments and how the pendulum constantly swings in countries like Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela, which have consistently voted for right-wing governments which imposed austerity measures, cut-back benefits and eliminated certain welfare programs during times of crises, when commodity prices are low. However, these same countries during periods of boom consistently vote in leftist governments like what we saw with Chavez in Venezuela or Lula in Brazil. What often ends up happening is these governments take advantage of the high commodity prices to expand social programs, but do not build sustainable economies for when there is a crisis so they're left relying on money-printing, which leads to a currency crisis and rapid inflation. https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2016/05/ricardo-hausmann-on-the-changing-political-narratives-in-latin-america. This is precisely what we're seeing in Venezuela today. I guess this is one of the critiques people have of left-wing economics, that it effectively puts leaders that don't think about tomorrow in charge of policies that later prove to be unsustainable.
