  1. I hope you forgive me for drifting a little from the topic. Was there (or is there) a reason for Jibreel to be in certain altitude in the sky before he delivered the message? Just a thought. When he was on the uppermost horizon (53:7) Then he drew nigh and came down (53:8) Till he was at two bows length or even nearer (53:9) And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed (53:10)
  2. Mashaallah with the hint, never heard that before nor even thought about it. Another day another knowledge increased, alhamdulillah.
  3. Is Punishment of the grave mentioned in the Qur'an? Please let me know if you know, thanks.
  4. Mashaallah for this Elite. But we still perceive it as though the sun is circling the earth by floating on it's orbit. But from my concern that is how I view the Universe by staring at the sky. I would love to see the clear cut verse that says the earth circling the sun - just for the hack of arguing, although it won't matter to me.
  5. Alaikum us Salaam. This world is just one planet. Beside, to create this planet he must be before it. Any explanation from him as for the moment before it? Did he create himself before the world or after the world? Also, this world is just one planet under this sun, and there are more than 200 billion suns in this milkyway galaxy alone. Yet there are more than 100 billion galaxies known so far, multiply that by 200 billion suns with average 5 planets in it and see what number will come up, because my calculator doesn't have enough digit for it. Did he create them all or just this world? (وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ (21:16
  6. Although the topic derived from hadith, and it is about the undistracted focus during a prayer yet question crept in me. What is the percentage probability in this life of a snake to came in contact with a person in the middle of pray? That need hadith for the muslim population to be prepared for the possibility of snake encounter?
  7. The number of animals world wide have not been diminished drastically even with the sheer number of cullings daily. Imagine their increased numbers if we all become vegetarian in a sudden. There was worrying news once about the tuna population in many places in the ocean and because that there was some kind of restriction to regrow the tuna population. I think it is just the Hindus reaction due to their belief instead of the reality. And we as muslims not suppose to associate eating meat with spirituality. Put it simply we are just carnivores, we love meat.
  8. Is there an example in the Qur'an where this grammar ruling has been used? or is this rule applied from outside the Qur'an. I thought that the Arabic grammar came into existence because the Qur'an.
  9. I think the encounter between the Danes and the Muslims were in Spain or somewhere around there which were predominantly sunni. To see the word "Ali" after "Allah" as Ali bin abi Tolib kind of too far to interpret, considering that "Ali" is one of Ama ul husna. Maybe it means "Allahu Aliyy" Allah the highest?
  10. Thank you sister I appreciated that. It seems I missed the OP.
  11. But He has no problem to explicitly when pointing East and West: وَلِلَّهِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ yet we have to interpret so many words to make North and South? In the Qur'an everything have their reason. When something is not mentioned it means there is a reason for it. Here the name of that specific person is not mentioned, it is for reason. Don't you want to find out, or should Allah spell it all for us every word and name of it? كَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَمَنْ عِندَهُ عِلْمُ الْكِتَابِ In my opinion this is roughly why East and West is emphasized instead of North and South:
  12. It is the unfortunate / fortunate fact in our life. It has positive and negative effects. Once I had an encyclopedia (one book) and a dictionary to rely upon in the past. But today with internet we have encyclopedias after encyclopedias, arrays of dictionaries and tons of opinions from different aspect of life. So should I return to the past method?
  13. In the old past people had method to calculate times which now obsolete. In the Qur'an we are told of their existence in which we are ignorant. One muslim poster once pose his theory of this differences but it was too complicated for me to digest it. He even use mathematical formula that use in physic by physicist to work it out.
  14. I doubt that someone in the Sunni camp would go that far. The only thing that I know that Abubakr, Umar Uthman and Ali are standing on the same level. Among the women it is Aishah and Khadijah are the two most mentioned. If you ask any sunni muslim in the street at random and ask who was the Prophet's daughter name? maybe he/she would not know that he had one either. To me personally I demand nothing from a muslim how to be muslim once he believed in Allah, the Messenger and the Qur'an. Just request, can you please chose the word muslim instead of Islamic for the speakers above? The enemy of Islam have used the Islamic for everything deliberately: Islamic Jihad, Islamic State, Islamic war, Islamic rebellions, Islamic terrorism, Islamic terror, Islamic followers, Islamic religion, Islamic Allah, Islamic veil, Islamic burqa.
  15. Sorry for my ignorance, but to me Marja sound like the School of thought, or am I wrong?
