  1. Asalaam Alaikum- Question~ A Sister friend of mine had this sent to her from another sister, I told her I am not sure of its validity but it is deemed false in a couple of Sunni Fatwa sites. Can anyone think of a source or is this just bogus? e THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER... Read it and tell me if you think the punishment part is right, we all know that not offering our prayers (salat) is HARAM! But little do we know the punishments that we will face... The Prophet peace be upon him narrated. "Convey from me, even if its one verse (Ayah)" Maybe forwarding this message to others can be beneficial for your Intercession on the Day of Judgement. The punishments of the one who doesn't pray. The Prophet peace be upon him narrated: "Whoever shows heedlessness (negligence) in praying salat, Allah punishes them with fifteen kinds of punishments" Six punishments in this lifetime. Three punishments while dying. Three punishments in the grave. Three punishments on the day of Judgment. Six punishments in this lifetime: 1 - Allah takes away blessings from his age,(makes his life misfortunate) 2 - Allah wipes out the virtues of righteous people from his face. 3 - Allah does not accept his Dua's. 4- He will be detested by all creatures on Earth. 5 - Allah does not award him for his good deeds. 6 - He will not be included in the prayer & Dua's of the righteous. (good people) Three punishments while dying. 1- He dies humiliated. 2-He dies hungry. 3- He dies thirsty. Even if he drinks the water of all the seas, he will still be thirsty. Three punishments in the grave. 1- Allah tightens his grave until his chest, ribs come over each other. 2- Allah pours on him fire with embers (red colour, hot coal made of immensely heated firewood). 3- Allah sets on him a snake called "The Brave" "The Bold" which rolls all around his body & crushes him. Three punishments on the day of Judgment. 1- He will be dragged face down over hot burning coal to the hellfire. 2- Allah gives him an angry look that makes the flesh of his face fall down 3- Allah judges him strictly and orders him to be thrown in hell. Those who do not offer their prayers of: FAJR: The glow of their face is taken away. DHUHR: The blessing of their income is taken away (even if he has millions, he will be poor). ASR: There is no strength in their body. MAGHRIB: They are not benefitted by their children. ISHA: The peace of their sleep is taken away. a beautiful duaa for thanking Allah for every moment "Allah humma Ainni ala zikrika wa shukrika wa husni ibadatika"
  2. where did you find this hadith? publication source? Chain of Authenticity? Its in English and its Abu hurairah, the faher of cats.
  3. Upi I really do not think this is a very kind statement. I lived in a dual partnership with the first wife for years with my current husband. She left us to pursue her conversion to Christianity. Many of the women who have posted in this subject have lived in a western society and are not familiar with the more than one wife practice. Many men in a western society cannot afford to support a second or third wife. Evidently you missed that detail. On your behalf, I would change the words dumb or selfish to ignorant. No wise women amongst the shia? I know of many but because of the separation of the genders you as a man shouldn't know of any. And I am grateful for the kind wife that welcomed me an my five orphan children children when my first husband was murdered. As they stated when I was a sunni, Allah knows best.
  4. Interesting. As I said...I will stick to the teachings of the Imams
  5. Abu Huraira: Interesting you should bring him up. Even when I was Sunni i was skeptical of his narrations and now that I have crossed over I wonder even more at his authenticity. He doesn't Jive with me. you need to quote where you obtained these particular ahadith please.
  6. Yes the White House is the swamp. The presidents morals can be ascertained by the company he keeps. Snakes and lizards come to mind...
  7. Dont worry, it is getting to be too much of a locker room....I have to agree we need to back down. we still love you!
  8. I dont see anyone being torn to shreds. I think separating these questions by gender would be a wise move if it can be done. The sisters see the world from a different point of view than a man would. The brother as I mentioned has his rights, and maybe this question is better asked somewhere in a male only forum. I wish him the best in his endeavors. The ladies have their rights too, might be a good time to close this thread and lower our gazes. And men are responsible for the maintenance and well being in general of their wives in Islam, its in the quran and to each his or her own. Not for us to question.
  9. By that I was referring whether he is sunni or shia, beyond that not my call, Many general Muslims from the world relate to Maliki, Shafii, Hanafi, Hanabali and JAFARI as madhabs not sects: to them the Ummah is one. Not questioning his religion in any context. Let me assure you since I have not been always Shia and some others think in different contexts. Allah alone may judge. Also his madhab would indicate if he is from Lahore whether or not he lived in the Pakistan or Indian Lahore. most hanifis moved north.
  10. No not at all. I was Sunni, a widow with five young children and my shia husband married me without hesitation. He paid for my nursing education and my bachelors degree as my mahr. He raised and cared for my 5 eldest kids and insisted they be raised Sunni till they could make the decision. Never had a sunni man even inquire beyond knowing i had five fatherless children. My kids call him pops but know the legacy of their birth father. I finally became shia last year. Actions speak louder than words. If a man treats his mother with respect and treats you nicely then he is the man, whether rich or poor.
  11. Good question. Im not even sure he is the same madhab.
  12. If it is Allahs will----I wouldn't marry one, but then i have the status of Khala----I may counsel whom I choose. And since my poor husband now has Alzheimers and is sleeping in the next room and sometimes forgets who I am, I will be trolling....
  13. I agree with you sister. I have many friends here in USA with husbands from the same city, and some of them are exes also. I warn American converts against some of these men. Sad affair. The poorer man is a wiser choice.
  14. I am so sorry for your loss May Allah the Compassionate and Merciful, reduce your pain and calm your heart. From Allah is our origin and to Him our return, Sister Hameedeh is correct, and I would suggest extra prayer, your Creator is your greatest comforter. I have used many of the supplications at this link with great success http://www.duas.org/worries.htm Depending whether or not she is Muslim, you can start reading quaran on her behalf. Also duas.org have many duas for the marhumas. you may want to consider this if she was muslimah. Chocolate is a great stress reducer as well and stimulates release of pheromones in your body that reduces sadness. it also will keep your weight on insha Allah.Easy to eat and quick. great desert (or topping) for a smoothie.
  15. As a psychiatric nurse for many years, I find your attitude leaning towards arrogant and narrow-minded. I was the second wife of my present husband. He was able to meet the needs of his two wives. i would NOT allow him to spend more time than allowable with me- I was the younger wife, He had to divorce my sister wife. the mother of his four daughters, when she converted to Christian Mormonism. I evidently landed a better quality man. I was a widow at 28 years of age with 5 small children to feed: and he was man enough to take us on. I have gained weight over the years due to the many children I bore, including the one son my husband has with me. it is a natural occurrence.I have always earned more money than he has. Many Nurses in the US make more than many doctors do in Pakistan sadly, and we have a higher status here. Funny thing is he lives in My house, so where in hadith or quran does that put a mans status? Yes, Allah is All knowing, Creator of all things. He knows the nature of men such as yourself and knows sometimes they cannot be satisfied with the relationship with one woman.Al rasul Allah WAS was married to only one wife, Lady Khadija, until her death, and Commander of the Faithful IMAM Ali (RA)never married another wife Until after the death of Lady Fatima Zahra (AR) You can do as you wish, but if you are hurting your wife, the mother of your children in any manner; You know you cannot hide it from your Creator. Prophet Muhammad WAS what quoted from many sources to state:"The best of you are those who are best to the women." (Sahih At-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Al-Jami Al-Saker) Consider also the following: "O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will, and you should not treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of the Mahr (dowry, bridal-money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) you have given them, unless they commit open illegal sexual intercourse. And live with them honorably. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it a great deal of good." (An-Nisa’ 4:19) Peace be to you brother, consult your marja about the rules of Muta'a marriage if your are shia, if your are Sunni as a born sunni turned shia I know its not permitted. please try to get more control over your nafs, and I believe there should be a mens only closed forum and a womens only closed forum to deal with these questions?
  16. Please fee free to communicate to the moderators the feelings you are discussing. simply hit the report button and let them know. Upper right hand of the box. I did. saves a lot of searching for the moderators.
  17. Asalaan Alaikum: I need your sources to verify this. I also practice Duas that are free of certain utterances. I. You need to confirm that your Sunni Ahadith sources has not been altered since the Al saud family has taken control of the helm of Alhul Sunnah. My grandparents (I am 59 years old) were subjects of the Ottoman empire and My Dayi (mothers brother) who still resides in Anatolia possesses Ottoman of books of Ahadith=and what is printed now by modern sunnis is post Caliphate and age of the Wahabis reads differently than the original Ahadith of the ottoman empire. I also suggest you look up the story of the calligraphy plates in the former church converted to a Sunni masjid called the Hagia Sophia In Instanbul Turkey, and tell me why the names of the Alhul bayt hang in the main prayer area in a pre-Saudi Masjid, a masjid of the last SUNNI CALIPHATE. Heres the links: https://omaneric.wordpress.com/photo-gallery/sony-dsc-1248/ https://omaneric.wordpress.com/photo-gallery/sony-dsc-1244/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/370772981798448905/ https://photos5.com/photo/8754/Ottoman-Calligraphy-Plate-inside-Hagia-Sophia.html Please be aware that the KSA builds mosques and Islamic Centers worldwide and in return inculcates their doctrine into the populations that they build them for. That is how you have the rise of the taleban and modern intolerant cultures in many lands and the abuse of the rights of women and such. I live in the USA and even the sunni islamic center I used to attend was built with KSA funds for the students that attended the university there. I later went to a masjid started by a imam from the abu hanifa mosque in Iraq. He fled here because the wahabies murdered his siblings and threatened his wife and chlldren. He stood with the Shias there in resisting the extremists. Please read the text on this page to know for a fact than many Sunnis before the common era believed that the succession should have gone to Ali and his progeny. https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-meaning-of-the-large-circular-murals-with-Arabic-letters-hanging-inside-the-Hagia-Sophia-one-in-each-corner Your wahabi faction wiped out the monuments in the graveyards in Mekkah and Madina because they contained inscriptions that confirmed this fact. However they CANNOT touch my homeland, the location of the last Sunni Caliphate. I lived my first 14 years in my homeland and can attest to this. You need to visit the Ottoman Archives in Instanbul to confirm this.
  18. Brother, you are all over the page. You need to address one topic at a time. If you joined the Ahlul Sunnah, that is your choice, As a woman who was born-and raised into the madhab of Abu Hanifa and found the truth lies in the madhab of Syed Jafar, the teacher of the Sunni scholars. I found Fitna in the family of alhul Sunnah and peace in the people of the Ahlul bayt.,
  19. Yes slick Donnie, A "polished" man who seems vindictive enough to go to the state of 2 senators and trash one that is basically dying. I am a resident of AZ and live in a city south of phoenix. AZ is an independent majority state. Everything with him is staged, Perhaps that is why he is so successful in the field of politics.I have washed my hands of politics: It is the world of men and it is fleeting. A t my age it is more important to focus on the Akhira. Amazing fact is that a Sunni Attorney out of Phoenix is running for Senator against Flake. Her name is Deedra Aboud.
  20. any muslimah would be a better situation. Mu duas for you sister
  21. Asalaamu alaikum I received a wonderful email from a Sunni sister the other day that touched my heart. I simply wanted to share it with you. If this is innapropriate moderators, please remove. I cannot account for the authenticity of the ahadith quoted: and this is Sunni origin " Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.” [Muslim]If your finger, foot, or any part of your body is hurting, you cannot sleep. Your body may develop a fever while it tries to neutralize the pathogens in an infected part. When one part of your body is trying to fight the enemy, the whole body invariably gets involved in the process. The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) described the Ummah as one body!So if a Muslim anywhere in the world, in the centre of the body or the tips, on the finger or on the toes, is hurting, you should feel the same pain. If you are only concerned about your safety and the safety of your direct family, then there’s something wrong with you. You are not really part of the body. The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that the Ummah is one body: It doesn’t matter that they are split into different political states or that they belong to different Madhahibs/Fiqh, as long as the person is a Muslim they are a part of your body.Sometimes we look at it as, “Only me and my group are Muslims.” Why? Because he doesn’t follow my Jamaa’h, he’s not following my way? As long as you cannot prove that that Muslim is a Kafir (disbeliever), he is a Muslim. As long as you don’t have evidence that such a person is a Murtad (apostate), he is a Muslim; whether he belongs to the same Madhhab or the same group or the same country or not, makes no difference. We all talk about the importance of having unity. If having unity means having one group, abandoning all the different Jamaa’ts and getting rid of all of the different Madhahibs, then we’ll all just be copies of each other and that’s an impossible thing to have. The fact that the Ummah is diverse and has these different elements in it, is what makes us strong. If a person running a business just has expertise in one area then eventually that will limit how much business he can get. But if he has people with multiple areas of expertise then the amount of business that they can go after will increase accordingly. What we mean by unity is that even though your approach to Islamic work might be different, the Imam that you follow might be different, you are there to help your brother when your brother is in need; that is unity."
  22. Which of you, then, will help me in this, and be my brother, mine executor and my successor amongst you?’ All remained silent, except for the youthful ʿAlī who spoke up: ‘O Prophet of God, I will be thy helper in this.’ The Prophet then placed his hand on ʿAlī’s neck and said, ‘This is my brother, mine executor and my successor amongst you. Hearken unto him and obey him.’ (Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah, tr. A Guilaume, The Life of Muhammad, 118)
  23. I was a former Sunni and did Taraweeh when I was Sunni. Since I have been married to a Shia for 25+ years I have finally declared myself to be of the Shia. Taraweeh is a prayer started by the early rulers of the Sunni Figh and is not a practice that I have ever encountered in any hussainiya or gathering of shia.
  24. Are you speaking of Ayatollah Muhammad Momen of Qoms Iran? Here is a link to some of his information. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammad_Momen
  25. Salaams-Not being sarcastic, as soon as I find the reference for my statement, I will leave it for you
