So those verses your Sunni friend quoted regarding the mujahideen supposedly refer to the sahaba. Let us see how their beloved companions performed jihad at the battle of Khaybar, my favourite example.
Narrated Abul Abbas Muhammad ibn Ahmad Al-Mahboobi in Marw, from Sa’eed Ibn Masoud from Ubaidallah Ibn Musa from No’aim Ibn Hakim from Abi Musa Al-Hanafi from Alee (a.s) who said: 'The Messenger of Allah (saw) went out to Khaybar, when he reached it he sent Umar and a group of people with him to their town or their castle to fight them, but they could not do anything, and Umar with his companions escaped and came back to the Prophet(saw), his companions were saying that Umar is a coward and he was saying that his companions are cowards and then the Prophet (saw) said that famous Hadeeth.
Al-Hakim: The chain of this narration is authentic, but they (i.e. Bukhari and Muslim) have not narrated it.
Footnote: Al-Dhahabi says in Al-Talkhees: It is Saheeh 'Authentic.'
    Source: Al-Mustadrak Ala Al-Sahihain. Vol. 3, Pg. # 40.
Narrated Alee (a.s): 'The Messenger of Allah (saw) went out to Khaybar, when he reached it he sent Umar and a group of people with him to their town or their castle they went and fought them, but they could not do anything, and Umar with his companions escaped and came back to the Prophet (saw), his companions were saying that Umar is a coward and he was saying that his companions are cowards and the Messenger of Allah(saw) got annoyed and he said: 'I will send a man towards them who loves Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى and his Messenger (saw) and Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى and his Messenger (saw) love him, he will fight with them untill he succeeds and he is not a coward who runs away frequently!' The people raised their necks to see whom the Messenger of Allah (saw) will call. They wished to be that man. The Messenger of Allah (saw) remained silent for a while and then said: 'Where is Alee (a.s)? They said: 'He has an illness in his eyes.' He (saw) said: 'Bring him to me.' When I came to him, he opened my eyes and put his saliva on them and passed the flag to me and then I went fast, fearing that maybe the Messenger of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى changed his decision, when I reached their castle and fought them. Then Al-Marhab invited me, singing epic verses and I went to him singing epic verses like people do, until we met and Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى killed him with my hands and his companions ran away and closed the door of their castle behind themselves, we went to the door and I did not stop trying to break it until Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى opened it.
Footnote: Al-Muttaqi Al-Hindi 'This narration is narrated by Ibn Abi Shayba and Al-Bazzar, and its chain is Hasan 'Reliable.'

This verse obviously praises the mujahideen, anyone who fought in the way of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى, but did all companions wage jihad like true muslims or like clear hypocrites? I've never heard anyone bring this specific verse up actually. Wasalam.

Umar was known to be a violent man. Before becoming Muslim, he hit/beat his sister so much that she began bleeding, because she became Muslim and was reciting Qur'an with her husband. Umar also yelled, when the prophet died, "Anyone who says the prophet has passed away, will be beheaded by me! For verily he is alive, not dead."
Umar was also documented to have hit his female servants many times.

It appears from the translation that this speaker is focussing on self-reflection. Self-reflection requires humility so that one can acknowledge one's weaknesses and become a better person. But his sincerity is being translated as "oh look, shia kafirs admitting that they .....".
Speaking of self-reflection, we (Muslims) have a knack for feeding on junk information. Something to ponder...

Prove what came first (chicken or egg) Islamically.
I will start off with chicken came first because the Quran says everything is created in pairs so the rooster and hen got together to lay the first egg.
"And He it is Who spread out the earth and placed therein firm hills and flowing streams, and of all fruits He placed therein two spouses (male and female). He covereth the night with the day. Lo! herein verily are portents for people who take thought." - Qur'an 13:3

"Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not!" - Qur'an 36:36

"He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride." - Qur'an 43:12

"And all things We have created by pairs, that haply ye may reflect." - Qur'an 51:49

That’s not true, sometimes hate can be a good thing and the Quran tells us to hate certain individuals.
And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah . If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared to you the faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief, defiance and disobedience. Those are the [rightly] guided. - 47:9

Lets be careful not to be influenced by politics and the horrible stuff that is happening in the world, to a point that we feel all Wahhabis are ignorant, violent, abusive and ISIS supporters. Surely some are very close-minded, but there are also some Shias who share the exact same traits - so who are we to generalize.
If a young Wahabbi guy reads your statement, he would naturally be aggressive and would resort to attacking our sect, rather than acting logically. I've seen a lot of fights online(social media), where Shias, Wahabbis and Sunnis all use foul language - the fights never stop. They condemn us to hell, vice versa.
The moment we Shias perfect our akhlaq and be kind to them, they will then be put in a situation where they have to engage in intellectual discussions. I reckon this is the best way to go forward, especially for our future generations. They surely have a lot of misconceptions about our sect, but we should respectfully clear it up for them. If they're decent human beings, then why not befriend them?
