  1. Salam dear brother! Most of Ulema believe shaving beard is not allowed and there is no difference between the sides and the chin as you mentioned. This is the fatwa of Ayatollah Sistani in this regard: Question: Is it permissible to shave the two sides of the face and leave the hair on the chin?Answer: Shaving the beard is haram based on obligatory precaution, and this includes the hair that grows on the sides of the face. However, there is no problem in shaving the hair that grows on the cheeks.Source But about what you mentioned, it goes back to what people commonly consider it. Look at these fatwas from Ayatollah Khamenei: Q1399: What is meant by jaws on which growing a beard is obligatory? Do they include the cheeks? A: The criterion is that the common view recognizes it as a beard. This is also the same in the issue of the length of the beard: Q1400: What should the minimum and maximum length of a beard be? A: There is no definite measure. However, the criterion is based on what the common view recognizes as a beard. That said, it is disliked to let it grow longer than one’s own grasp. Source
  2. Salam If you are staring Taqlid, you have to follow a living Mujtahid. Ayatollah Khamenei: In initiating taqlīd, one should not neglect caution in following a living and a most knowledgeable mujtahid. Source Ayatollah Sistani: It is necessary for the Mujtahid who is followed, to be male, Shi'ah Ithna Ash'ari, adult, sane, of legitimate birth, living and just ('Adil). Source But if you have followed a Mujtahid and he has passed away, the issue is different and you can follow him by the fatwa of a living Mujtahid.
  3. As you are mature and you earn money, you have to pay Khums from whatever is in excess. Yes you can pay Khums before a year, but it is not obligatory. These are the fatwas of Ayatollah Khamenei and Sistani in this regard: Ayatollah Khamenei: Q: Somebody is used to pay khums on anything / money immediately upon receiving it, can that replace paying khums at the end of the year? A: Yes, it can. But doing so is not obligatory. It is enough to pay khums at the end of the khums year on the amount of the income that remains unspent on the life necessities during the year. Source Ayatollah Sistani: It is obligatory on the merchants, the earners, the artisans, and others like them that when a year passes since they started earning, they should pay Khums from whatever is in excess of their expenses for one year. And if a person who is not earning, makes an unexpected gain, he should pay Khums after a year has passed since he gained, on the savings which exceeds his expenditure for that year. Source
  4. You can follow this link in order to receive information about Temporary Marriage or Mutah.
  5. As I studied there is no law concerning the issue you mentioned. Selling of water is not haram. Yes if a person's life is in danger and he is not able to buy water, you have to water him in order to stay alive, but in normal situations it is not haram.
  6. According to fatwa of Ayatoolah Khamenei it is allowed. This is the link of fatwa.
  7. Umrah is not wajib (obligatory) for muslims. It is regarded as a mustahab (recommended) worship. But Hajj is wajib for any one who has the conditions for it. To know who's duty is hajj see this link.
  8. As I studied some of ulema believe in the case you are sure one of two is more knowledgable and you do not know who, you have to take precaution. But if you have doubt that one is more knowledgable you have to follow him.
  9. Most of Marjas believe there is no problem in marriage between a Shia boy and a Sunni girl. All the necessary conditions are the same except the formula of marriage, which some of Shia scholars believe it should be recited in Arabic. Here you can ask them to do it in Arabic and even they did not accept you can ask a Shia to do it for both of you. Other things you mentioned such as Kisa or ... is not obligatory for marriage.
  10. The ways which can help you to recognize the most knowledgable marjas are mentioned in the books of taqlid. The most important part of it is to try your best and do your own research and ask other olema to figure out who knows more. If you found for example A is the most knowledgable you have to follow him. But if between two you could not figure out who to follow for any reason or you found that they are equal in knowledge and all other qualities you can follow any of them you prefer.
  11. What you mentioned is the appearance of the marriage which is important as well. But I believe we should not neglect the spirit of marriage. A person is able to marry when he/she fills that can forgive and have sympathy and responsibility and at the same time belief in Allah that He will help them to build a great life after marriage.
  12. You have mentioned 2 different things: 1- The love before marriage would prevent boy/girl to see many facts. It might lead to a successful marriage, but it is also able to turn to the divorce. But when it is arranged they can compare their values and their plan for life and many other things. 2- But the love after marriage between man and woman and toward children should be on the highest possible level. Zahra (sa) the daughter of Muhammad (pbuh) said: The most valuable men are those who are kind and generous to their wives. Rasul Al-Allah Muhammad (pbuh) said: The best of you is the one who treats his wife in the best manner. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: A woman would not forget his husband's saying: I love you. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: Kiss your children as much as you can for Allah will ascend you in the heaven for each kiss.
  13. We can see this emphasize in many traditions and hadiths. Knowing our selves and our souls is the key to go further. As long as a person is not aware of his abilities and the capacity of his spirit he is not able to use them in the way of salvation. This is a hadith from Imam Ali (as) : The most useful knowledge is knowing your self.
  14. A true believer is always happy of what goes on. If a person believes in Allah and believes He witnesses every thing in this world, there is no reason for such a person to be unhappy. Actually what we need is to be in the way of Allah in any circumstances, and to do our duty. This will make a believer happy to obey the orders and to worship. When Zainab after the incident of Karbala said: I didn't see any thing but beauty! it means when even the death - which some count it as the most miserable thing in this world- happens, if this is what Allah is satisfied with it I will be!
  15. I believe the best way to teach your child to be happy is the happiness of the parents. As long as the parents are happy the child will learn happiness. Our behavior is the most important teacher for our children. Our children will grew up the way we live no the way we want them to be.
