  1. Marja can make time specific fatwas. ie like making buying cigarettes was made haram during the Iranian tobacco boycott.
  2. No but sometimes women who were married already and then converted are given permission to stay married to that person.
  3. There is a man on Facebook that is saying he met Imam Zaman.
  4. If you want to go to the jumah then go. You don't have to announce what school of thought you follow. If they question you as to why you have your hands down just say Malikis can do that. If they tell you that schools of thought are bida then just be noncommittal in your response. If that masjid turns out to be a salafy stronghold you probably won't want to go there more than a few times.
  5. I don't know where you live. If you live in a colder climate You can get by wearing a knit hat with a really bunchy neck scarf that covers your entire neck chin.. Wear that with a type of bulky style jacket or real big sweat shirt or hoodie with baggy cargo pants.. It depends on where you live. In the U.S. some areas are harder to wear hijab than others. There are many instructors that do not like hijab. I do suggest not wearing white or black hijabs if you have decided to wear a typical hijab look muslims usually wear. Wear instead pleasant colors. It does make a difference.
  6. One believes in Walayat a figh and the other does not. (Ayatyollah Khamenei yes, Ayatollah Sistani no.) That is the main difference. The differences in figh is always small between marjas.
  7. Jews are waiting for two Messiahs. A King messiah and another one.
  8. Has any marja ruled on Ismaiiis as non muslims that so many of you are saying they are not muslim? Is there even one? It seems to me I am reading posts here where Shia are trying to use a salafy interpretation to decide this issue. Not praying makes someone a fasiq, a sinner, not a non muslim.
  9. There is a difference between telling people to wear clothing or telling them to remove clothing. There is a big difference in saying someone has to put on a tie to be served in a restaurant or to have to take their shirts off. What do you suggest the French Muslims who are French do? It's a problem the way women in hijab are treated in France. I avoid the French airport when traveling. They tried to pull my pants legs up in front of all kinds of men and I kept pushing them right back down. The real question is why should women be told they must remove clothing to partake in society? I remember when women were fighting for the right to wear pants to work instead of short dresses and panty hose. A non muslim girl can wear a long skirt to school but not a muslim girl? This is stinkn thinkin.
  10. Buttocks don't have to be covered in the U.S. Just a little string needs to be in between the buttocks.
  11. If you re-read what the Bible says about the promise to Issac, you will see that a promise to Ishmael is mentioned in passing. The great gathering of the tribes that people were waiting for did not happen under Jesus. Prophet Mohammad brought the ideology that is going to allow that great gathering to occur under the Mahdi when Jesus does return. Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH)blood line does not just connect through Ishmael, he also connects to the house of David in some way, forgot how, Abraham. Not only is Prophet Mohammad's ideology the one for the gathering of the tribes, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is a physical representation of the gathering of the children of Abraham in his blood.
  12. I think there are different rulings on their permissibility. (Unless they are all in agreement now in 2016.) The original question as to where did it start, I don't know. It seems to be in quite old art and even at some of the Imam Zadeh graves.
  13. When discussing hadiths like this about leadership, one needs to look at the Arabic word that is being using that is translated into Caliphs or "muslim leaders". Sometimes in English even if the word "Caliph" is used, that isn't the word in the Arabic. "Muslim leaders" is using the phrase for something else.
  14. Quote Therefore, after the prophet there must be someone so that divine commandments without any less or more addition should remain preserved near him; My comment. The words implementation, application and interpretation of the divine law comes to mind
