  1. I sympathize (***NOT*** support or like) with salafism. I obviously prefer baathism (however a lot of these people moved to daesh as well) as I lean to nationalist revolutionary politics. I respect their (daesh) radicalism but they are the enemy to me. So when Assad falls, what is the alternative? western democracy (degeneracy) or salafist sharia law (tyranny). Both are bad but for myself I prefer the latter. In realpolitik, lesser of two evils.
  2. Wow man. You sure stopped terrorists by being a keyboard warrior on FB. I can UNDERSTAND salafism from their anti-zionist stance and their anti-west stance. The salafist is the radical traditionalist Islam. All modern conceptions are degenerate. I'm not a salafist (activist) myself but maybe I should be inshallah (since the baath party is going to die). The only way to really calm down salafism is for zionism to fall. That is the true problem for the world. If that happens and the west gets out of Muslim country affairs then we'd be alright.
  3. Only your first name has to be of good meaning. Your father's last name stays.
  4. I'd like to address what I've said in the previous post. Nondenominational Islam does not exist. As said before, if you pray with arms folded then you are praying according to authentic Sunnah. Yes there is infighting among Sunnis of different schools but there is consistency there but within Shia, we see a lot of extinct sects inside it and all sorts of bid'ah. There is only Islam where we follow Quran and Sunnah which has been called now Ahl al-Sunna or Sunni. If someone says they're "Just Muslim" or "nondenominational" then they're (usually Sunni) in denial. Be consistent.
  5. I'd like to address my previous statements. I'd like to say that I am Sunni. Nondenominational doesn't exist really because if you pray with arms folded, you are Ahl al-Sunna aka Sunni aka MUSLIM. Shia and other sects are haram. Not true. No successor was guaranteed. Disagree with the above. Disagree and untrue. Narrated Abu Juhaifa: The Prophet cursed the lady who practices tattooing and the one who gets herself tattooed, and one who eats (takes) Riba' (usury) and the one who gives it. And he prohibited taking the price of a dog, and the money earned by prostitution, and cursed the makers of pictures. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The effect of an evil eye is a fact." And he prohibited tattooing.
  6. Brother, there is only one Islam and we follow Quran and Sunnah. Point out to them this is haram and move on.
  7. I'm a huge supporter of Ba'athism so naturally I like Bashar Al-Assad. I wish my country (USA) would see that he is the better option to the loose cannon that is the Free Syrian Army (Most of them have joined ISIS).
  8. Ah OK, why do you say that? Does the tattoo that I posted have a bad meaning? (I don't know arabic)
  9. Yeah, it is definitely impossible for most to live a life exactly like Muhammad (PBUH). Never understood all the restrictions on things that really don't hurt others also I don't really want to grow a beard these days. I say get tattoos with a good meaning and put a lot of thought into it. I really like this one (search "shia tattoos" on google images):
  10. I have a family member that actually said one time that, "Muslims should convert to Baha'i as a way of countering terrorism and creating peace." I told him, "slam and Baha'i are like an apple and an orange. Muhammad (PBUH) will always have my deep respect. Baha'u'llah was a mad man."
  11. Salam sister, I definitely agree with you on a lot of what you've said. I agree with you on non-denominational Islam but keep in mind there is also infighting among Shias as well as among Sunnis. This is why I go with not having a denomination (for now but I need to learn more about Shia before deciding) since there are a lot of different views on everything in Islam. I agree a lot with some of Shia and Sunni thought so I think we really should go with no denomination but that won't happen due to political tension.
  12. I voted the first option because we all believe in the 5 pillars of Islam.
  13. Thank you. I'll read through that when I can.
  14. Thanks for the information. I still need to do more research though before I go with a denomination. Part of the reason that I never picked one is because I find them to be divisive. I also think there are some uniting forces between the two major denominations as well.
  15. My politics are similar to Ba'athism (I like left and right ideas but believe in strong leadership and nationalism). I don't like Clinton at all.. she is just like Obama. I like some of Sanders economic positions but totally dislike his socially liberal positions. I agree with Trump on stronger borders, protectionism, and on fighting ISIS but totally disagree with his positions on banning Muslims. I've only voted twice and I really don't think voting will change a thing in this country as it has already been bought and paid for so I don't think I will vote this year (or at all from now on until we get a good anti-zionist). Either way you are voting for Israel.
