  1. @LeftCoastMom, we don't care what you think about homosexuality. We care about following the Law of Allah عز وجل.
  2. Legality and morality are conflated in this society. Murder is OK if the government allows it.
  3. Tulsi Gabbard is no friend to Islam and I still do not understand why Muslims would support her or Sanders. http://www.alternet.org/civil-liberties/curious-islamophobic-politics-dem-congressmember-tulsi-gabbard http://qz.com/628124/tulsi-gabbard-the-first-hindu-in-the-us-congress-on-modi-hinduism-and-linking-islam-to-terror/
  4. Imam Jafar al-Sadiq ع said, "Hasten your children upon the hadith before the Murji'a get to them."
  5. Thank you for all your responses. @أبو فاطمة المحمدي This is what I sort of expected. Are the ahadith speaking about the Murji'a upon them such as for in legal rulings? I love this hadith: أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) قال : بادروا أحداثكم بالحديث قبل أن تسبقكم إليهم المرجئة
  6. السلام عليكم I have seen the name of this early sect in several ahadith. Who were they and do they still exist today in some form?
  7. You can read Abi Mikhnaf's work or shrug it off as a "platitude". I don't care enough to engage in a worthless "debate" with some stranger over the internet.
  8. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم May Allah عز وجل curse the nawasib and may He guide whom He will. For those who wish to learn the greatness of Imam Husayn ع: http://www.sicm.org.uk/knowledge/Kitab%20Maqtal%20al-Husayn.pdf
  9. @baradar_jackson, Sanders' support of this bill I think is even more egregious: https://www.congress.gov/bill/109th-congress/house-resolution/921 He has voted consistently with Hillary, disagreeing with her only to uphold the Democrat party ideals, oppose Republican ideals, or to support Obama. The same people who support Sanders because of his rhetoric and activism pointed to Obama's leftist ideas and friendship with Said as evidence of how he would change the system and yet we have seen his actions in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Egypt, Palestine, and Bahrain. There's no difference between any of them. Voting for one doesn't change the entire oppressive structure that is US government. It just swaps one person for another to be influenced by established policymakers and officials.
  10. Have you read the articles I posted or watched the video? Being against the Iraq War doesn't make you someone Muslims should support. With that logic, why not vote for Trump then?
  11. السلام عليكم Why are Shia here supporting any of these candidates? Sanders is a proponent of a progressivist agenda that is staunchly against Islam, promoting ideas like homosexuality and using an unjust system to fight economic injustice. His rhetoric may seem well and good until you look at his voting record in terms of foreign policy and you will see he is no different than any of the those vying for the presidency: http://www.counterpunch.org/2006/11/15/a-socialist-in-the-senate/ http://www.counterpunch.org/2015/07/27/bernie-sanders-savior-or-seducer-of-the-anti-war-left/
  12. Yes, you are right. We all want to have offspring who wish to live and die for their Imam ع, not for their inordinate desires. @LeftCoastMom, Imam Ali ع treated even his accursed killer with respect. I would never reject treating someone ان شاء الله. I just wish to be of some use to my Muslim brothers and sisters who have less access to proper healthcare.
  13. Tolerance of sinful behaviors like homosexuality and casual relations.
  14. First, I apologize because I cannot respond to every message but I have read them all and appreciate your willingness to share your perspectives. @Chaotic Muslem, I've lived in a larger Muslim community while going to university and have seen children deviating from Islam, seeing it more of a mark of identity instead of the commands of Allah عز وجل that must be obeyed for our betterment ان شاء الله. There are definitely families who can preserve Islam for generations, even though it may be difficult, but it often requires entire families moving together in one locality and clear delineation from an external environment. This has its benefits in terms of standards of living, but I pray that I have the strength to forgo those comforts because this option isn't viable for me. The relative, more specifically, is my sister so I know how she was treated at home and she was treated well and taught well while at home. The outside environment, and especially friends in school, can be detrimental influences to people. One thing that I long for also is to serve fellow Muslims in penurious situations, which isn't as needed in this country as it is in the Middle East or Pakistan. @S.M.H.A., you have a brilliant niyyah, but I do not share it unfortunately. Our immigration was for reasons of wealth. I am also not one who is knowledgeable enough to convert people. May Allah عز وجل reward you for your efforts.
