  1. (salam) May Allah bless you for sharing this. I am just adding the verse where it says "Katheemeen Ghaythahum". ÇáøóÐöíäó íõäÝöÞõæäó Ýöí ÇáÓøóÑøóÇÁ æóÇáÖøóÑøóÇÁ æóÇáúßóÇÙöãöíäó ÇáúÛóíúÙó æóÇáúÚóÇÝöíäó Úóäö ÇáäøóÇÓö æóÇááøåõ íõÍöÈøõ ÇáúãõÍúÓöäöíäó Quran 3:134 Those who spend (benevolently) in ease as well as in straitness, and those who restrain (their) anger and pardon men; and Allah loves the doers of good (to others).
  2. (salam) InshaAllah you don´t get in such situations that people are drinking alcohol. I think in many gatherings they serve alcohol, and you have a hard time sitting in the non-alcoholic section/table because people are walking around with the drinks in their hands as somebody mentioned earlier. I have left from my own childhood´s home because somebody was drinking alcohol, I felt bad as did my mother but she could´t tell the person that could you not drink alcohol. My non-muslim close relatives know very well that I don´t drink and I am not allowed and do not want to sit around with people who drink, but what can I do if it's so common to them to have their beer. They telling me for example: "please do not wear your scarf in our presence" is maybe them the same as I telling them that "please do not consume alcohol in my presense." Alcohol seems to be some people's cover unfortunately.
  3. (salam) Where could I find some more information about Shaikh Abul Futuh Razi? I once heard above in a lecture about the angel with 1000 hands.

  5. Salaam alaikum, I have been said that old people wear black socks but in my culture its otherwise old people wear brown socks... well I wear both black and brown ones with my other hijab clothing.
  6. Salaam alaikum, For followers of Ayatollah Sayed Sistani (May Allah grant him a long life) Q101: Is a Muslim permitted to go to mixed swimming pools [men and women] without a suspicious motive, especially when they (women) remove the dress of modesty from themselves and would not desist if asked to do so? A: Although looking without a suspicious motive and lust at those who are scantily dressed and would not desist if asked to do so is permissible, presence in these places of moral depravity is absolutely not permissible based on precaution. (MMS, p. 25, Q45) from http://www.al-islam.org/laws/contemporary/muamalat2.html
  7. Where could I find that hadith. What I have learned and think is best that you truly say salawaat in the beginning and ending your duas.
  8. (salam) Spirituality is more important ofcourse. But making food is also important and stucking in the kitchen has a reward inshaAllah. I have to think a little what I will make for iftar etc. Inviting others to iftar and vice versa is nice during the month of Ramadhan as it is in other times also. somebody said TV that is so true that during Ramadhan arabic channels are all about new series but also nice religious programs.
  9. (salam) I haven´t changed my name legally and I´m not planning to do that at the moment. If you happen to love the name you already have I see there is no point changing it. Only a few people call me on my "real" name and I am like "ohh whos that" when I hear that name bcos people call me on my nickname or muslim-name or kuniyah name or mom. So I have many names. That is a good advice to repeat the name you have said earlier. I try to remember that the next time people ask me my name or start to guess what my name really is, quite irritating, happened to me also many times. Same thing happens with the surname also if it happens to be something plain common "ohh you are not married" "are you married with a non-muslim?" etc etc.
  10. thats true, even if its really cold outside I would not wear gloves to job interview. In job interviews I would try to say it in advance that I wish not to shake hands and explain it in a nice way to the listener. I would not go fake sneezing, it would look really stupid and I can´t lie even in that issue, also would start maybe giggling and stuff.
  11. No need to make one nationality to look bad, there are bad people in every nationalities. We can´t know what was the real reason people get divorced, and I don´t think no one can convince you to change your religion after you have embraced Islam -I think if that happens you were not believer in the first place.
  12. That is too sad, but there were woman who embraced Islam so thumbs up for iraqi men about that... maybe you get my point. These things happen, they start to forget their religion and start to act badly, but sometimes there is a happy ending they regret and become religious maybe with the example and help of their revert wife :!!!:
