If you have clearity regarding core concepts in Belief(Aqeeda), then Jurisprudence must be the priority specially those ahkaams that are faced daily by you.May be you can give 2X time to Ahkaam and X time to History.If you have some doubts in Belief than 2X time to History and Usool E Deen and X time to Ahkaam.(Where X= number of minutes or hour convinient to you)
  2. As you are adding details to the problem,it is becoming next to impossible for common people like me to help you in this regard. Only options left are Religious Scholars trained in handling these situations and in worst case scenario may be medical intervention. As far as marriage of your brother is concerned,I feel it will amount to cheating if his to be wife is a religious lady. Suppose if your brother is unable to overcome his addiction and she too comes to know about it then you know exactly, what will happen. May Allah forgive us all and keep us on the straight path...
  3. Kind of literal translation... Heading:Rule regarding prayers and fast offered without Ghusl a Janabat. Question: I did not know that Ghusl is obligatory due to Janabat and was ignorant about this ruling then what is hukm(rule) regarding my prayers and fasts? Answer: The prayers offered after Janabat(without performing the ritual Ablution or Ghusl) till performing any other obligatory or recommended Bath(which is recommended according to sharia) for example performing Friday Bath must be repeated and if one does not know how many prayers have been performed in such condition then it is enough if one performs as much as one is sure of i.e it is enough if one repeats the minimum number prayers(one is sure of) and it not obligatory(wajib) to make up for fasts if one was ignorant of this rule and this ignorance was due to some shari(islamic law) excuse otherwise it will be obligatory to make up for fasts also. No,you cannot tell this to any one.You must have read somewhere or listened in lectures that angels that are there on the shoulder(writing our deeds) keep changing everyday i.e Allah(Himself) does not want even an angel to know what a momin did on other days.So you must not tell it to anybody. You must make it a rule unless and untill it's a medical condition. As you have said your brother is a religious person then you must know that atleast he has not completely lost it i.e he is not sinning openly like a typical young man.Also, as he knew that you were going to use his computer and he didn't hesitate,so may be it was someone else who opened those websites and not your brother(Quite Probable). Give him a chance to rectify his mistakes and you may be aware that God has placed these urges in human beings and best solution for this is only marriage until then you must support him completely (without informing anyone) in whatever way possible. Even God loves those who repent so atleast give him a conducive environment and a chance to repent. He is far better than a common 24 year old these days.

Salam, ofcourse you should not confront him,it will be quite embarrassing for him.Try to keep him busy in useful things.As you are his sister you are in a better position to understand his likes and dislikes,so accordingly select those things that may keep him busy.Also,did your brother know that you were going to use his laptop? Useful things may include: - Group discussions about topics that he likes. - May be fixing a day for eg. Thursday or Friday for family dua time i.e reciting Hadith e Kisa or reading stories that are inspiring. -May be you could get him engaged in sports. -May be you can cook together ...i.e try anything that could keep his mind away from such things. You could try to somehow raise the topic of tauba or repentance and share stories of people who repented and completey changed themselves.But this has to be done after 10-15 days,so that your brother does not come to know why you are telling him about this.Like there is a book Tauba(in Urdu),if you get it's translation (assuming that you don't know urdu) and someday come to your brother and tell him to have a look at the book and relate two or three incidents from the book to make him read it. Etc etc...

With regard to someone who has to make up, for example, a number of ṣubḥ or ẓuhr prayers, but he does not know how many or he has forgotten how many – for example, he does not know if it is three, four, or five prayers that he has to make up – then, in the event that he performs the lower number, it is sufficient. However, it is better that he performs prayers up to the extent that he can be certain of having performed all of them. Salam, I need everbody's suggestion regarding naming my daughter.I want the name to be such that one part is a Laqab of Janab e Fatima Zahra s.a or Janabe Narjis Khatoon s.a and second part will be Fatima(InshaAllah).For eg. Alia Fatima,Narjis Fatima,Mubarakah Fatima etc. I have seen posts regarding names on ShiaChat but I need some more suggestions from everyone.Thanks and JazakAllah in advance.

Actaully Istikhara is done only after due consideration and that too from/through a learned Alim who knows what will be the meaning of Ayah of the Qur'an I.e they are experts in drawing conclusion from the Ayahs of the Qur'an. Now coming to your question, first thing is that why do you want to choose either gynaecology or obstetrics(1)? Have you consulted any one known to you and who is a specialist in either of these fields to clear your doubts(2)?Did you talk to your colleagues about your options(3)?? If you have not done this then doing istikhara in itself is problematic.

If there is only one male follower, it is Mustahab that he stands at the right hand side of Imam, and if there is only one female follower, she will stand in the same direction, but slightly behind so that when she goes to Sajdah, her head is in line with Imam's knees. If you are a muqallid of Ayatollah Sistani then wudhu is not necessary after performing mustahab ghusl also i.e you can pray without doing wudhu if you have performed ghusls deemed mustahab according to Ayatollah Sistani. 653. After having taken the Mustahab Ghusl listed in rule no. 651, one can perform acts (e.g. prayers) for which Wudhu is necessary. However, Ghusl performed with the Niyyat of 'Raja' do not not suffice for Wudhu (i.e. Wudhu has to be performed). MUSTAHAB GHUSLS according to Ayatollah Sistani: 651. In Islam, several Ghusls are Mustahab. Some of them are listed below: Ghusl-e-Jumuah: Its prescribed time is from Fajr to sunset, but it is better to perform it near Zuhr. If, however, a person does not perform it till noon, he can perform it till dusk without a Niyyat of either performing it on time or as Qadha. And if a person does not perform his Ghusl on Friday it is Mustahab that he should perform the Qadha of Ghusl on Saturday at any time between dawn and dusk. And if a person knows that it will not be possible for him to procure water for his Ghusl on Friday he can perform the Ghusl on Thursday with the Niyyat of Raja', that is, as a desirable act. And it is Mustahab to recite the following supplication while performing Friday Ghusl: 'Ash hadu an la ilaha il lal lahu wahdahu la sharika lah wa ash hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa Rasuluh. Alla humma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa Ali Muhammad waj'alni minat tawwabina waj'alni minal mutatahhirin. (I testify that there is none to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no associate and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. O Allah! Bless Muhammad and his Progeny. And make me one of those who are repentant and pure). Taking baths on the 1st and 17th nights and in the earlier part of the 19th, 21st, 23rd nights and 24th night of the holy month of Ramadhan. Ghusl on Eidul Fitr day and Eidul Azha day. The time of this Ghusl is from Fajr up to sunset. It is, however, better to perform it before Eid prayers. Ghusl on the 8th and 9th of the month of Dhul-Hijj. As regards the bathing on the 9th of Dhul-Hijj it is better to perform it at noon-time.
