  1. Salam, We all call ourselves shia, born shia, family shia , proud Shia, even our whole countries shia, and calculate the population of Shia by demographic head count etc, but hardly know who is considered Shia by the Ahlul bayt. I hope we all fall into the category below or strive towards it atleast, in Sha Allah. Below are fantastic hadiths to gauge ourselves if we can be considered Shia according to Ahlul Bayt or not: SHIA ACCORDING TO AHLUL BAYT امام هادی-ع عَلَیکُم بِالوَرَعِ فَاِنَّهُ الدّینُ الَّذی نَلازِمُهُ وَ نُد
  2. Salam Actually the term ijtihad comes from the words Jahd which refers to deep struggle in the path of religion. But the definition you gave came into islam later. The Imams as far as I am aware have not given the definition above. When you read the Quran or hadiths as far as I know ijtihad/jahd has not been termed as above, it is mainly indicating to people who strive in the path of religion, it did not entail the meaning of going to a particular institute to acquire a particular certificate to be known as a mujtahid. Back then their was no hawza, to be given a qualificatio
  3. Again this is not my commentry. This was what was in al-Islam.org commentry of pouya , the reliable site you provided. Kindly contact them to show your disapproval. Also Please check all before you post, as for each thing you said, I just posted from the link you provided. Or learn farsi or arabic even better, plus better and thorough search skills. Wasalam
  4. It is either the person hasn't translated this very clearly himself or you got it wrong based on how "he worded it." He used the word wicked for the people of Ninavah not the prophet! The people of the nation were steeped in wickedness . This is the statement: _____ Yunus' mission was to the city of Nineveh, ***then steeped in wickedness. The people rejected him.*** ____ ( meaning the people then / at the time when Yunus was missioned as a prophet to Nineveh were steeped in wickedness, thus they rejected him ) Probably it was better for the translator
  5. I think he is getting alot of questions firstly based on family tree and then with the modern technology people think they can find a more accurate result probably? I am pretty sure those who think they are syeds are really not syeds.
  6. @E.L King could you find the exact hadith he stated from shia source? The closest I came was from the sunni source where the prophet sends la'an to those who claim a father other than theirs?
  7. Yes,I realized. I just went straight to the point of (Wa'ra ) taqwa, as this is the main thing. I did not want to elaborate more from what he said just so I don't misinform. But thank you for confirming my thoughts, and yout over all view of fatwa, till someone procifient in translation, translates this fully. This is a very wise statement. Poor Sistani he has to deal with such issues on daily basis from his moqalid that he had to issue a statement once and for all... With this statement 90% wont be able to claim being a Syed. It would be a good idea moderators pin this pos
  8. From what I can gather bottom line and very briefly, he mentions it is " Wa'ra " which is synonymous to Taqwa that we need." __________ We know abu lahab was the prophet's Uncle who is closest to him in blood relations comparing to anyone of us is destined to hell, and Salman Farsi whose family was zoroastrian ( Majoos )and reverted to Christianty then Islam, and was looked down because he was not Arab, was called part of Ahlul bayt by the prophet. That is why in the day of judgement all of our family ties will break and our real families will be based upon our level of faith a
  9. First of all brother, I hate doing this but since you asked, and accused me of linking a fake site, I am very grateful you shared a site which you approve yourself. This is a proof for all brothers on this site and can see for themselves, that you have refuted the very source you provided yourself without reading it carefully as It doesn't make a difference which site is the commentary posted. The commentry should be identical if it from Pouya. Now this is between you and Agha Pouya, you either send lanat on him or yourself. The commentry on al-Islam.org and islam portal are ide
  10. That is your job to do! You cant even admit the same very thing you quoted although it is exactly the same. Now you show me where you quoted pouya from !
  11. This is what you quoted from Pouya. Which is exactly as the link you called fake ( Islamportal ):
  12. Firstly it is not Hube Ali website. Second I copy and searched the commentry you quoted from Pouya and the exact wordings were in that link, and even more The quote commentry you quoted was from Pouya. So you quote from Pouya and call him a liar loool. Probably you have to look properly, the very sources you provide yourself and refute it yourself lol It is not my website. I don't need to learn anything in English, I have the actual sources in Farsi and Arabic. But probably you get wrong translation in the process lol. All you commented was from that sou
  13. Pay special attention to the *** . These are his words not mine, if you agree he is more intelligent: I also provided a link of the tafseer of pouya so you can check with your own eyes.
  14. No problem, first read the commentry above of pouya for Prophet Yunus above. You quoted from this site which contradicts what you said! lol
  15. No problem you can learn farsi and read it for yourself then, and read the commentry of pouya on prophet Yunus where he says all can make mistakes and Yunus was asking forgiveness for his anger ! Lol
  16. @Irfan1214 Brother, I think you did not read further of the commentry of pouya ,in the part of the aya that talks about God preventing it to happen: "The wife of the high official, Zulaykha, tried to seduce him. She desired him very much. As Yusuf was one of Allah's chosen devotees, He enabled him to avert both evil and lechery from himself. " What was the prophet Yunus imprisoned for in the stomach of a fish? Maybe a reward? Or more of a test to see if he will repent? Infact God says he was worthy te be blamed! Quran: Thus a whale swallowed him, and **he w
  17. He seeked refuge to God due to his faith, but then Zulykha first wanted to commit the sin, prophet Yusuf did not, but ***he got inclined to her after wards *** according to the Quran and Shia tafseers! Quran: She desired him, and ***he desired her*** had he not seen the proof of his Lord. ***It was thus that We DIVERTED evil and INDECENCY AWAY from HIM.*** He was one of Our loyal servants. (12:24) I am not aware if you can read farsi or arabic but their tafseers are available by various scholars and including hadiths from Imam Jafar as- Sadiq that God showed him a sign when he g
  18. I said I am an admirer. Can you claim you are a Shia infront of an Imam, according to this Hadith? I know I cannot. Regardless the topic was about Moses and being afraid of the massive snake. Both Sunni and Shia agree that although Prophet Yusuf was a prophet and he was about to commit a sin, plus prophet Yunus was punished by God for showing his displeasure to God for forgiving the nation, so God imprisons him in the stomach of a huge fish, and God says if Prophet Yunus did not ask for forgiveness, he would have kept prophet Yunus in the stomach of the fish till day of judgeme
  19. @Irfan1214 You are correct. I cannot claim my self to be Shia, as claiming or calling oneself shia would be a lie if I dont go by the definition of who a shia is provided by the Ahlul bayt. Therefore I am just an admirer of Ahlul bayt. I will provide you with hadiths of what is the definition of Shia. If you fall into this definition by the ahlul bayt provided, I am very glad for you. I cannot claim such a title yet as I will be held accountable by the Imam calling my self shia: Hadith: Imam al-Hasan (AS) said in answer to a man who said to him, ‘Verily I am
  20. Brother, These are two separate ayas and instances. The aya in hand is about the massive snake. That hadith which you mentioned is about another verse in the Quran, nothing got to do with this verse. The aya you mentioned is another instance of Musa when he killed a person from firouns nation. When musa talked to God for the first time, he wasn't even a prophet yet. After that first talk with God he was missioned as a prophet. If prophets have no fear no grief and no way to make mistakes like humans do, how was prophet Yusuf about to commit adultery???? He was already a pr
  21. Brother, Prophets are humans like us meaning , they too eat, sleep, mate, have emotions like us. How ever they are unlike us, because they worked hard to keep themselves pure, and used their intelligence more than we do. They did not follow the majority. They thought deeply for themselves. I too say that Musa got scared and wanted to run a way from the massive snake, it was his first encounter of a scary miracle. Prophet Yusuf was about to commit adultery but in the Quran it says We showed him something and stopped him, and Prophet Yusuf blames himself not Shaitan for almost com
  22. Mutah and the root word for its usage in most ayas means " enjoyment / what you reap benefit for a period of time." You can have enjoyment / reap benefit for specific time with this world and its entertainment. This too is muta as it wont last forever. You can have enjoyment/ reap time bound benefit with a lady. And many more. The word enjoyment is not limited to only one thing. Anything you enjoy or benefit from for a short limited time is called mutah. Enjoying your last favorite dish before death is also a muta. As you wont be able to reap any more benefit from eating o
  23. If you say twelver shia, don't go beyond the twelve to understand the true nature of Shiism. Imam Reza said, Shias are people like, Imam Hassan, Imam Hussain,Salman, Abudhar... None of us are like them, and none of the Sunni nor Shia scholars can match them.
  24. I don't go according to one specific scholar in terms of fiqh, neither conventional knowledge. I go by: "Who listen to **speech and follow the best of it.** (39:18)" And run it up with the Quran and sunnah, and the wisest speech. Most people even don't know the scholars they are following personally , neither have discussed religion with them face to face, nor have gone beyond shariah issues, nor have read any books apart from their risalahs to be able to understand how they even think. Neither have many read any risalah of the scholars they follow. Most as far a
  25. It could be couple of months, years to a hundred years or more down the road. Either way they are deviant layman and scholars at all times. The only difference is the deviant scholars at the time of the presence of Imams were known to the shias of the time, as the Imams could pin point them. Now there is no Imam present amongst us, so it is not obvious who is deviant or not from *** Imams point of view*** We can only go by research of the character , knowledge of the scholar which is clear for us, not just by accepting mass opinion but after our sincere research, and by tru
