If your motive was to learn more about the Islamic view on masturbation then you would primarily ask questions.
But interestingly enough your contributions only consisted of bringing forth the hypothetical positive aspects of masturbation.
Ok, of course this could be an unlucky coincidence but it could also be a hidden agenda to affect the minds of shias to make them stray from the right path. Only God knows for sure.
I will remember this InshaAllah and see if I notice the same pattern in your future posts.
May Allah SWT guide us all InshaAllah.

If you are talking about my link to the study about masturbation then my point was to highlight that the medical advice offered in the previous post was by no means incontestable.

I don't need to ask, I can read people's comments. I will ask if I want clarification
I have no interest whatsoever in promoting masturbation nor could I care less whether people do it or not. I consider it harmless, that's all. It's just a different view point

So you're eager to learn more about islam - and that is why you are promoting masturbation on a shiasite?
If you are interested in the Islamic view on masturbation why are you not asking questions as to why this is not allowed and how it can be explained islamically?
Instead, what I see you doing, is trying to promote masturbation. To me that seems to be a different agenda: Promoting fasad and encouraging people to deviate from the right path.

Do you realise that there are corrupt researchers who will lie in order to support whatever notion they like? In this satanic world we live in I wouldn't be surprised if they faked that particular research in order to make people deviate from the straigt path believing there was evidence that goes against God. Science has become the new religion and most people don't realise the many ways researchers can manipulate research and in some cases completely fake it. Stay critical even when it comes to research.
If research contradicts our religious rulings then it needs to be questioned. Allah SWT knows better than anyone else and our maraje3 are the most competent people to interpret his words and the available Islamic literature.

This is a debatable point, at least. There are scientific reports that state the opposite - that ejaculating (whether solo or in company) is good for fertility, helps avoid premature ejaculating, helps you sleep, possibly helps reduce risk of prostate cancer.
Obviously if your reasons for avoiding it are religious then these are not relevant considerations.

the problem with what you are saying is it is false.
masturbation makes you depressed and not lack of. your body will automatically ejaculate in the form of a wet dream when needed. this is natural while masturbation is not.
masturbation is a dangerous addiction that makes you more sexually frustrated than normal. if you break this addiction for long enough you will eventually not succumb to being controlled by the billboards.. you will be able to see even nude pictures God forbid and have competley unsexual thoughts. This is a stage hard to reach, but not unreachable.. and is the only right way to go. You have to fight it. Otherwise you will lose. Inshallah by then you will be married.
    masturbation is wrong period.

Ofcourse you do, tell me how long have you gone without masturbation? be honest.

Empathy? Not one male member here does not know what you are talking about. I dont think there is a single member that has not been through this dilemma. you are twisting facts to suite your satisfaction to make masturbation ok.

The idea that if you dont masturbate your genital region will wilt is completely bogus. who said that?! Allah will not punish you for not masturbating! There is no science or logic to what you say. You want to do it go ahead.. but making this thread will not lessen the sin. It is a sin and harmful to you in every way.. that is why it is a sin. If it were good for you it would not be haram.

You actually will have a higher chance of being impotent from masturbation, Science has proven that you will face erectile problems, premature ejaculation and even kill your sperm cell production count.

    Also it is pathetic.

I don't know where to start. I don't have time to respond to everything, but you are using argument by limited (in this case, one case) case, which scientifically and even logically is a big falacy.
There is lots of research on this. Given that you have normal reproductive physiology (which is the case for 99.9% of the brothers reading this thread), what will happen if you don't ejaculate is that your testes will produce less and less sperm, and this is reversible, i.e. when you are in a sexual relationship with (hopefully) your wife, your testes will resume sperm production at normal physiological levels. You may have a specific medical condition. If it is a diagnosed condition, then you should follow the advice of your doctor. But if you do, then realize that your advice on this is not applicable to 99.9 percent of the brothers reading this thread.
That is the physiological side. The psychological and spiritual side are different issues. These have been talked about alot on the site, so no need to go over these again.
Also, It seems like you have already made up your mind that masturbation is perfectly fine despite all the evidence to the contrary that has been posted. So not exactly sure of the reason you made this thread. Were you looking for lots of people to agree with you and back your position ?

You probably know how I feel on the hadith here.
If Allah mentions magic and greater sins in Qur'an,  I consider that sufficient most especially if music is absent mentioned in Qur'an.
If it was such a greater sin why did it not make it to Qur'an?  I'm sure you have your reasons why and I'll have my arguments against them but we did this before, no need to do so again.
Music like video games or sports or other activities can be good or bad depending on the user. It is not some exceptional poorly understood art, it has a science behind it that's mapped and understood unlike "magic".
Music has had the opposite effect on me.  It's helped to be more reflective,  and of my own volition I've never had interest to go out of my way to listen to music with garbage content.
The way you describe is as though it's a drug. People use pills to study or feel at ease but they can be abused.  Why not see music as something that's okay as long as it's not abused like every other activity in life?  It was not mentioned in quran unlike Alcohol and other explicitly forbidden things.
I strongly believe Qur'an when it says it is sufficient and nothing is left out for us.

Whether we like it or not, our Imams (as) have spoken against music quite explicitly. It's not only about pop songs, but even some musical instruments (not all). There is even so many Sunni hadith which suggests that music is harram to some extent. I don't mean to give a fatwa or anything because you can refer to the books of fiqh. However don't revolve your life around music. Your ears will speak against you on the day of judgement if you listen to nothing but vain. I don't think Allah has placed an emphasis on our 'hearing' for no apparent reason. It is our duty to be careful how we use our ears.
Music is very sweet and the nature of it is such that it keeps replaying in your head over and over again. It's so easy to be someone your not through music. If the message is vain, why do we find it so easy to digest it? Just because the tune is catchy? If the message is about sex, why do we find it so easy to think "well at least the tune is catchy".
Music might make us concentrate better while we study, but it is harmful in the long run. I can also argue that weed makes a person smarter, but does it mean that it is alright?
Through music we become less reflective, and we don't focus on our inner facilities. If the music we listen to is 'peaceful' it makes us feel peaceful through some chemicals released in our brain, but when someone snatches away our ear plugs, we're back to being the same 'arrogant being'. Life is about the purification of our soul and which of us is the best in conduct. Music is a distraction in life, and makes it harder to achieve perfection.
I know a lot will disagree with my views, but after all, what do I have to lose? Do you think I have gone astray by not listening to music in this life which is so short. I've already lived a year without music, and I've seen nothing but improvement.

We need to be careful about what we are knowing/learning and whether it benefit us or it harm us!
One can say the same about magic.

I'm a guitarist.  I think music like all things can have it's "ups" and "downs".  I dismiss Islamic scholarly opinion on music as useless input.  Guitar has helped develop me socially in terms of expression and computationally/organizationally.
Scholars who say all forms of music of haram I feel is indicative of their ignorance and lack of propensity to think critically. Their arguments are poor and lacking in substance.  By their logic pictures of trees and other paintings of inanimate objects should be haram as well for they hold the same away and influence over people in terms of themed expression.
Can Scholars  even define music ? Did they not read quran using musical elements that help memorization? Do they not read quran and know of the pslams and music of Dawood AS in his voice?  Are they unaware of the music that birds and animals and the wind rhythmically surround us and help us measure time?  When does words, sounds become music?  These scholars are blind and deaf in my opinion.
Music isn't music, it is knowledge.  Knowledge is not haram. That's what scholars don't realize.
Someone Insinuating one can be  negatively influenced by music, doesn't consider the fact that if such an individual can be influenced by music to such an extreme extent that compromises their "relationship" with God or puts them on a "bad path", that they were likely to make poor choices to begin with and it isn't music that is the influence, much less crowds, personal dispositions that are purely determined by the individual.  In short someone who is that susceptible has much more to worry than how music  impacts them.
Playing an instrument develops the mind and teaches it to organize and structure in a way most cannot convey.
Making a career of it and not making poor choices is not unheard of either.
Hadith insinuate music as haram but contradicts itself when hadith exist where Muslim soldiers used war drums in battle (they have functional use).
I also like to mess about on keyboards/piano.

Hi @Salsabeel, I get that today's music is degenerated and has many harmful messages but playing an instrument is hardly a waste of time, it just a matter of how it's used.
For example, we observe music and dance in Sufism as a way to spiritually uplift but we also know that music and dance can be used for sensual pleasures.
Also, playing an instrument strengthens the brain.

Many if not great majority of Muslim scholars consider that music is Haram and Muslims are not encouraged to practice that excepted maybe for some cases like "religious music". Also personnaly i consider music as a waste of time.

Kamanche is so beautiful. On my recent trip to Iran a little girl let me play her Santur and it was so nice I almost bought one but I didn't really know how to choose a good one or if I would have trouble checking it in on to the flight so I didn't.
I play guitar reasonably well and I play fiddle, banjo, piano/keyboards quite badly. But also I believe that any sound can be music. I used to play in a band where we used to scrape pieces of metal, rattle plastic bags, electronically amplify various objects etc and call it music. We even recorded several albums and went on tour. Of course we did not make any money like that.
My love of music could be a bigger barrier than my atheism to becoming a muslim
