Skanderbeg reacted to Abu Hadi in Why I'm locking certain topics
Salam, these topics have been discussed ad infinitum. Many repetitive topics with the same answers leads to a general decline in quality of content
and less interest from members, which stifles real and original discussions that could be happening.
    Quick points,
I know that there are many brothers and also sisters who are suffering greatly because of these issues. That is why I have hesitated in the past to lock these topics. I know this is a real issue, I am not denying that. But it is getting ridiculous now, and we also have many trolls who take advantage of the situation to make this into a 'pornography, masturbation, and mutah site' and portray us Shia as being obsessed with these topics only.
So if you are having problems with these issues, PLEASE PLEASE, do not come here and ask for advice from random strangers and risk being exposed if someone happens to figure out who you are and starts to spread rumors. Please follow these steps.
    1) The best way is to go to your parents or guardians with these issues. In most cases, they love and care about you the most and have your best interests at heart. Ask them to help you solve these issues. This is by far the best way.
If this is not an option for you
    2) Go to a sheik, alim, trusted relative or community member. Go to someone in your local community who you know won't violate your trust and confidentiality and has the required knowledge and aklaq in order to help you solve your problem. They can help you and recommend resources in your local community.
If this is not an option for you
    3) Go to one of your trusted friends, relatives, contacts who may not live in the community where you live, but whom you can discuss these issues with by email, phone, chat, etc.
If this is not an option for you
    4) PM one of the mods who is of the same gender. If there are no mods of the same gender that are responding to you then pm one of the mods whom you trust. They will try their best to refer you to local or community resources that may be able to help you.
Also, look at pinned resources regarding these issues, most answers are already there. If you can't find, send me a pm and I will try to find additional resources for you. Salam.

Everyday there are new topics on these subjects. It looks very bad. We shouldn't allow it.
I encourage members to report such topics if they don't like their excess in number.

I completely agree. There is no need to have ongoing conversations regarding these topics.
Yet at the same we can't turn a blind eye. There should be locked topics that addresses necessary info and resources for serious people, and leave it at that.

Skanderbeg reacted to أبو فاطمة المحمدي in Mukhtar al-Thaqafi
Moreover, the author accuses al-Mukhtar of being the leader of the Kaysaniyyah sect:
Although he has misused a movie as his "proof", this is what Shaykh al-Tustari said in reply:
وأما قولهم بكيسانيته فغير معقول، لأنه مذهب حدث بعد المختار وبعد محمد ابن الحنفية، بل لا يمكن قوله بإمامة محمد وقد قتل في حياة محمد ولم يكن محمد مدعيا للإمامة
As for claim that he was part of the Kaysaniyyah, it is not logical, because it was a sect which came into being after the death of al-Mukhtar and after the death of Ibn al-Hanafiyyah. Rather, it was impossible for him to claim the Imamah of Muhammad (b. al-Hanafiyyah) as he was killed during the lifetime of Muhammad (b. al-Hanafiyyah) and Muhammad (b. al-Hanafiyyah) was not claiming Imamah.
So, that author's claim about al-Mukhtar is like claiming that Abu Bakr and 'Umar were followers of Ahmad b. Hanbal. We all know how very illogical that is.
Perhaps, the most disturbing part is that the author was actually aware of the above facts! He has referenced Sayyid al-Khui's (may Allah be pleased with him) research on al-Mukhtar, and he surely therefore must have read this in it (in response to the claim that al-Mukhtar was a Kaysani or Mukhtari):
وهذا القول باطل جزما، فإن محمد بن الحنفية لم يدع الإمامة لنفسه حتى يدعو المختار الناس إليه، وقد قتل المختار ومحمد بن الحنفية حي، وإنما حدثت الكيسانية بعد وفاة محمد بن الحنفية
This is clearly false, for Muhammad b. al-Hanafiyyah did not claim Imamah for himself, such that al-Mukhtar could have invited the people to him. Also, al-Mukhtar was killed during the lifetime of Muhammad b. al-Hanafiyyah, and al-Kaysaniyyah came into being AFTER the death of Muhammad b. al-Hanafiyyah.
The author ignored these clear facts, and proceeded to misquote a movie, for reasons best known to him.

Come on man! For a religion wherein a believer let alone a Prophet s.a.w. even has to sacrifice his own life this just sounds plain stupid.

This wasnt a personal thing but for the benefit of all believers 'till the End of Time. And with the addition of 'the Quran is enough for us' Umar was putting himself above the prophet s.a.w.

While during the writing of the testament of Abu Bakr who fell in coma as well, there was present a scribe, paper and a pen and Uthman waited for Abu Bakr to become conscious again  and then finished it with the confirmation of the latter.

To pass the succession over to Umar was obviously more important than a message which would not let the Ummah go astray.

I have watched the entirety of the Mukhtar series, and I noticed foul play in these words of the author of that article:
First, we do not use movies as textual evidences in our religion. It is really very ridiculous that a movie has become "a sahih hadith" when it comes to Mukhtar. In any case, it is explained later in the movie that Sayyid Muhammad b. 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, used the signature "Muhammad al-Mahdi" in his letters to Mukhtar in order to conceal his true identity, in case the letter fell into the right hands. Secondly, there are scenes in the film where Mukhtar explicitly proclaimed the Imam of Imam al-Sajjad, peace be upon him.
Secondly, contradictory ahadith have been reported about him. I seriously doubt that the author does not know how our 'ulama have investigated those reports and arrived at their positive view of al-Mukhtar.

Yes. But he also lied about some things. Maybe for the sake of becoming more popular and influential.
I do not know about his grave though.
Do you have ahadith that contradict that article? That article contains only one hadith (a saheeh hadith nevertheless) that calls him a liar. I think there may be some ahadith in praise of him but I'm not sure.

I just flew on them in November and I've never seen a plane jammed with so many seats. No legroom. Hope you're not a tall person because your knees will kill you by the time you get off the flight.

hey everyone!!! what kind of things are you guys speaking???? just stop this discussion!  this post wasnt meant for these kinds of debates! this was meant for informational purposes for Gods sake guys! if you want to curse then curse them in your hearts!  After prophets passing away there was a time when it was compulsary to curse imam Ali AS nauzubillah!!! it continued till abdul aziz abbassid guy! he then stopped public cursing of imam Ali AS!!!
that doesnt means they did that so we should curse them too!  we are no one to curse anyone! curse is for Allah! if anyone who can curse is only Allah! anyways whatever it is! infront of christians i wouldnt say jesus wasnt a God if its not a debate! because we shouldnt hurt feelings of others! in general every christian knows we believe jesus AS was just a prophet nothing else! likewise  sunni brothers and sisters knows too what we know about sahabas or wives of prophet! so we dont have to disclose that we are cursing them! like this it would only create chaos and i dont think anyone could be guided by these kind of useless debates between us Shias! debating that we should curse or no!
Moreover! if youre following Ayotullah sistani then you cannot curse any conpanion of prophet or hazrat ayesha!

    Salam,

What I am going to say now will maybe shock or not many.

I believe the tradition of cursing in Shi'a Islam was a reaction to the Sunni Umayyad cursing of the Ahl Al-Bayt a.s.

Once the Abbasides wiped out the Umayyads, people wanted to let out their decades long frustration of bearing the cursings towards the Ahl Al-Bayt a.s. from the Umayyad pulpits and so they started the tradition of cursing the Sahaba i.e. those responsible for the fitna in our Ummah.

It's still a theory but hopefully I can confirm this in time.

Develop a personal relationship with Allah. All our lives we try looking in the wrong places, searching for things which are very simple. In the lone of the night, stand before him and pray that He Help you, and my brother HE DOES. Trust me. Great Ayotullah Bahjet (May Allah bestow His mercy on him) said: "Do ACT on things you ALREADY KNOW, and God will Teach you about things you DONT know."
Asking from other mortal beings isn't going to help you as much as asking THE ONE WHO CREATED THOSE BEINGS. Peace brother.

    Nonsense?

Look mr. Umayyad. The dynasty of which you bear the name controlled the entire arab world for almost 90 years and all their rulers except one called Umar cursed the Ahl Al-Bayt a.s. from their pulpits during Friday Prayer untill the Abbasides took over.

Which means that all Arabs except a few were misguided so you can throw your Arabist glory in the trash can.
