  1. Now do you understand having completed the series? Your viewpoint on the show is marred by your life experiences and ideology. Interesting considering it was intended to have the opposite effect.
  2. ،السلام عليكم Are you on /wiz/ or /r9k/? He only needs 4 more years to become a wizard though.
  3. السلام عليكم There are 52 episodes but episode 14 of season 2 is a recap episode, so there are 51 unique episodes. You are most likely watching Suffering Pariah Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor. Season 2 is called Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji Hakairoku Hen (Suffering Pariah Kaiji: Against All Rules). You can download them here if you wish: anime.thehylia.com/downloads/series/gyakkyou-burai-kaiji-hakairoku-hen I can tell from your review that you're not a loser like me, so congrats. :)
  4. ،السلام عليكم This might be a good read: http://thebrainandthemind.co.uk/Build/Assets/readings/Human%20Volition%20Patrick%20Haggard.pdf
  5. السلام عليكم :P Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side. :D "People themselves are full of hope." ~Kaiji Ito And you forgot the countless YT videos spammed on every thread: May Allah protect you.
  6. ،السلام عليكم It can help to think about your defaults and your insignificance. May Allah protect you.
  7. ،السلام عليكم Pass. I salute your good service, sir. May Allah protect you.
  8. ،السلام عليكم You tend to have moderate positions and, from my perspective, you like to bridge gaps between divergent opinions to gain some new depth to a subject or to recognize that the issue is being portrayed as a false dichotomy. Is this a double-entendre? If so, both definitions of "curious" are very suitable. :P May Allah protect you.
  9. ،السلام عليكم In this forum game, one describes the poster above oneself. If you don't know anything about the poster above you, you have the choice of stalking their SC persona like a good, little member of the internet or you can simply say "pass" without engaging in such harmless mischief. If you wish, you can give constructive advice to the person based on your perception of their posts. Please thank the person who chose to describe you by "liking" their post instead of by posting again unless you want to describe another person and be described again. Remember to be courteous and to show akhlaq. This is just for fun, not to feed your ego or to hurt other people. May Allah protect you.
  10. ،السلام عليكم "I am Khalilallah, hear me roar." Akhi, I believe you may have misunderstood the type of forum game that was proposed in that other thread. I'll make it if you like. May Allah protect you and find you a suitable wife soon, ان شاء الله.
  11. ،السلام عليكم Here's a meta poor joke: The poorest jokes in this thread are the ones without any likes. May Allah protect you.
  12. ،السلام عليكم I know there's a translation above. Just ignored it because I wanted practice. أَلاَ وَإِنَّ إِمَامَكُمْ قَدِ اكْتَفَى مِنْ دُنْيَاهُ بِطِمْرَيْهِ وَمِنْ طُعْمِهِ بِقُرْصَيْهِ أَلاَ وَإِنَّكُمْ لاَ تَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى ذلِكَ ، وَلكِنْ أَعِينُوني بِوَرَعٍ وَاجْتِهَادٍ ، وَعِفَّةٍ وَسَدَادٍ "Verily the Imam of you all is content in this world by his two pieces of tattered clothing (usually used for interment) and by his food of two meals. You will neglect in giving justice to him, but relieve me through your devoutness (to Allah) and diligence, through your self-restraint and righteous works." Looking at the translation from the video, I understand using "help" for أعينوني since it comes from the same root but the form of the verb makes me think "relieve" is a better translation. In context as well, it already shows that the Imam ع requires very little from the world so he is not in need of our abetting but instead we can relieve our Imam ع of the duress and injustice placed upon him by us for failing to recognize his right and for displeasing our Lord عز وجل. While the Imam ع is content with the few worldly pleasures he engages in, he wishes but a few things from us. Having failed as claimants to following him, we can relieve the pain of our Imam ع through: 1. Following and striving to obey the Laws of Allah 2. Abstaining from committing prohibited acts 3. Righteous works. The root س د د makes me think there is a focus on righteous acts that seek to pay amends to a person you may have wronged in the past, perhaps the Imam ع himself or anyone to whom we must give recompense. May Allah protect you.
  13. ،السلام عليكم "I am Khalilallah and I have cool sisters who watch MLP." Perhaps you could start a thread where each subsequent poster describes the user above him/her as a forum game. You could post several times to get more people's descriptions than you would in this thread while also providing a trivial pursuit for people to engage in. May Allah protect you.
  14. ،السلام عليكم If it's merely to witness, I would love to see Imam Muhammad al-Jawad's ع discussions with Yahya b. Aktham or to see the farewell sermon of the Prophet ص. If it's to live in, I would want to live in the time of the Prophet ص and become his slave. May Allah protect you.
  15. ،السلام عليكم I am an extreme pony fan and an extreme fool. May Allah protect you.
  16. ،السلام عليكم Brother, I could not find a version that had English and Arabic side-by-side but I do have a .pdf file of solely the Muhammad Sarwar translation (which isn't the best but it was the only one I could find). You likely have this but if you don't message me and I'll provide it. You could use this website to look at the Arabic while you are reading the Sarwar translation: http://www.alseraj.net/maktaba/kotob/hadith/kafi3/arabic/mktba/hadith/alkafi03/index.htm May Allah protect you.
  17. ،السلام عليكم This thread gives evidence to the claim that sarcasm is very hard to detect with the written word in regards to magma's quip, haha. There's a difference between tolerance for the immoral behavior, whether innate or otherwise, and tolerance for the people who have the genetic predisposition for the predilection and struggle against those biological urges (this does not include those who go towards the act for solely the fulfillment of hedonistic desires).
  18. ،السلام عليكم I don't see what this has to do with the topic, but Columbus was married in 1479 before his first voyage to the so-called "New World" in 1492.
  19. ،السلام عليكم I was speaking to a friend earlier about the similarity this event has to the life of Jubayr, a companion of the Prophet ص. There's a very notable resemblance between the marriage above and this portion of a hadith: A brother who used to be on SC translated this hadith years ago here: http://unveilingthelight.blogspot.com/2011/04/selecting-spouse-arrogance-pride-and.html. It likewise recounts a beautiful, heartwarming historical event. May Allah protect you.
  20. ،السلام عليكم Thank you very much for sharing the story brother. This is the research paper. If you have access you can read it in its entirety but there's still a good amount to peruse: http://www.nature.com/articles/nature14510.epdf?referrer_access_token=EVLoINjO7-hdWhdNsVqtJdRgN0jAjWel9jnR3ZoTv0NiJ9dlDLT2T8r-lZypBa9T_s4l7QqEBpmrILyZmgbFfinxBbg3z0TPhrjVp1PAe3xk9dOl77ffNuEuLqpY3kjPDMgmNEGyF9BS8LokCdSj8E7tu4g75Fi1NolCgeFaYdOyyo3mhJ2DEp-4i-a0GwZG1AwD7C9jkF-pANRJmnIiXw%3D%3D&tracking_referrer=www.nature.com I would recommend it. It's a good read. As the brother with the totally rad username said, eating the brains didn't simply lead the Fore people to evolve. It simply, so to speak, separated the wheat from the chaff where those with a mutation to kuru, a prion disease, survived and passed on the mutation to their offspring while those who did not have the mutation died and did not reproduce as successfully. The greater prevalence of the mutation in the Fore population, which was a PRNP variant changing Glycine on codon 127 to Valine, allowed for the researchers to focus on it more and see if they could utilize it towards resistance for other prion diseases (CJD, the human form of BSE) and for more applicable medical use. They also formed a mutation on codon 129, changing Methionine to Valine, to see if it would endow a similar resistance. Testing in mice indicated that presence of the mutation on codon 127 regardless of number of alleles conferred resistance while presence of the mutation on codon 129 gave protection only when there was one copy of it on the two genes. This paper doesn't advocate for further human brain consumption to increase the prevalence of this prion-resistant mutation in our population. Our societies aren't the kind to advocate for enforced natural selection this way and we actually constantly attempt to fight against the process through developing new technologies and medications. With the information garnered from this study and more research, prion diseases can, ان شاء الله, be eliminated in the human population. May Allah protect you.
  21. Thank you very much for the advice. Which specific texts would you recommend?
  22. ،السلام عليكم What books can I read whether from the Western tradition and from our own tradition to improve the ability to reason and use logic, as well as to understand it? I can only read English proficiently. I would please prefer them to be online for viewing. If not, then tell please tell me if they're available online for purchasing.
