  1. Salam Brother, are you sure about the bold part? Do you have any sources?
  2. Maybe this is a stupid question, but do you know where I can find Ayatollah Sistani's Ijazah for Al-Khoei? I couldn't find it at their website, but I would like to see it before making any payment.
  3. Salam. Thank you. Do any of them (specially I.M.A.M) give you a receipt signed by Ayatollah Sistani's office? Apparently Ayat. Sistani issued a fatwa saying that we need to get a receipt signed by his office, I think I.M.A.M gives the receipt signed by Sayyed Kashmiri but I don't know if it's sufficient according to the fatwa.
  4. Assalamu Alaykum Do you pay khums to I.M.A.M through their website https://www.imam-us.org/?
  5. No, I didn't mean that. Alcohol is haram for everyone, as well as most of the music (at least according to many Maraji). I'm talking about things like classical music, it still can be haram for some people, even if they don't intend to use it in a bad way. I don't know if it makes any sense. I stopped listening to any music last year, even instrumental. A few days ago I started listening to classical music for a couple of days, and I enjoyed it so much that it was stuck in my head all day. No matter what I was doing, I wanted to finish it quickly only to go back and listen to it. Even latmiyya had the same effect on me. So maybe all music is haram for me, even the halal one? Or it could be that I spent so much time avoiding any type of music that at the end didn't know how to handle it. It felt so good, it was like eating a piece of cake after a whole month eating only salad. I don't know how to express the experience. For the first time I understood the phrase music is a drug. On the other hand, it helped me to focus more at work, I was being more productive. But it also could be only a coincidence, it was only a couple of days before I stopped it again.
  6. Assalamu Aaykum I've been thinking about this lately, that maybe the same music that is halal for a person, is haram for another, depending on the effect it has in each one of them. Does it make sense from a jurisprudential point of view?
  7. Assalamu Alaykum. Click on your username (top right corner), and then select the "Manage Followed Content" option. You will see all your followed posts. But it would be interesting if we could bookmark single posts instead of a whole thread.
  8. Sorry, I just found it can be achieved following posts.
  9. Assalamu Alaykum I apologize if it has been answered before. Is there any way we can save posts to revisit them later without having to navigate through all posts? Something like a bookmark?
  10. Salam. Still waiting. They are taking too long to respond answers lately. I've sent them another question more than 5 months ago and I'm still waiting. I have a feeling that they won't give me a helpful answer and my khums year ended a few months ago I think I'm gonna ask them again if I can pay khums to Ayatollah Sistani through https://www.imam-us.org/ or https://zahratrust.com/ Please let me know if you get an answer. Will do the same.
  11. Wa Alaykum Assalam I think I found the answer for my first question: 1792. If a person does not make any profit in the beginning of the year, and spends his capital, and then makes some profit before the year ends, he is allowed to deduct the amount spent from his capital, from the profit. Well I have been tracking all my earnings and expenses for the last 1-2 years, so if I pay 20% of my earnings instead of the savings I should be fine, at least regarding the money and stuff I bought the last to years, right? I've been reading the Khums rulings and I'm still confused. There are some rulings that seem to contradict each other, and I've been reading the rulings of several Maraji Maybe I'll read them one more time later and if I'm still having doubts then I'm gonna ask their offices. Thank you for your help, may Allah bless you.
  12. Wa Alaykum Assalam. Yes, that's what I mean, I'm sorry if it was confusing. If my khums day is on Dec 31, then I buy something on Jan 1st, meaning I didn't made any profit for the second year, can I still deduct what I have spent from my profits later on the year? I mean, if I buy something on Jan 1st for $200 but I haven't made any profit yet, then in february I earn $1000. Let's say those are my only expenses and earning for the year. When I have to pay khums later, do I have to pay khums for the whole $1000 (because when I bought it I didn't make any profit yet), or just for $800? What should I do if I've never paid khums? It means everything I bought is haram for me to use, so how can I make it halal? May Allah grant you the best and always guide you to the right path
  13. Let’s say mi khums year ends on Dec 31 on the year 1. Then I buy something on January on the year 2, but I didn't make any profit yet for this year. Can I deduct the amount I spent from the profit I will make later on year 2?
  14. Salam @Hameedeh @Hassan- @Ashvazdanghe If you don't mind me asking, what made you choose Sayyed Khamenei over Sayyed Sistani?
  15. Wa alaykum assalam I have two requests, I would really appreciate if you can make dua for both of them: Please pray that Allah softens my heart and never allow me to abandon Islam or the right path. I find hard to accept many things about religion and I just ignore them for now because I don't want to leave Islam. I really need to soften my heart and never go astray. I want a sincere belief, not only because my parents taught me that Islam is the right path. The other request is to pray to Allah that reunite me with my beloved one and allow me to marry him in a halal way. Please note the emphasis on halal. May Allah forgive all the sins of the sincere hearts and grant them Jannah, Inshallah I'm also included
  16. Thank you @AbdusSibtayn and @Khadim uz Zahra
  17. Assalamu alaykum When praying nawafil for dhuhr and asr is it obligatory to pray the 8 rakats for each one? Is it wrong to pray only 2 (or 4 or 6) rakat of 8?
  18. This is from his website: The highest scientific certificate and professorship document, issued by the Management Centre of Qum Seminary in 1991. According to the regulations of the Management Centre of Qum Seminary, this document is considered as Certificate of Ijtihad. This certificate was issued by five Mujtahids who were officials of the mentioned Center at that time, including: Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Fazel Lankarani and Ayatollah Tahir Shams, who signed this document. So the part in bold is not true?
  19. But according to his official website he is a Marja http://hoseini.org/certificate.htm
  20. So music like trance or electronic music are haram to listen even in your own house, because it's used for haram gatherings? I know it has been asked soo many times here in SC but I'm still confused.
  21. I guess I have to ask them again. Thank you
