  5. Unity is always for something, and concuurently against something. What is your case? unity against what? For what?
  6. Invoking l'aanat upon those who rebel aganst Allah or those appointed by Allah is a clear requirement of Shi'i aqeedah. Unitists are free to draw their own conclusions. THat said, what is notable is how, from amongst the Shia, a fifth cplumn has been raised that open, flagrantly denounces all that differentiates the Shia from all tose profess Islam, either due to lack of guidance or sheer hypocricy. Those who come under the umbrella of lack of guidance are those born into "MUslim" families, brought up in teir ways, and have somegow not bee exposed to Sh'i dawah.   12. (salam) Sibte Sahab is carrying on and keeping alive a glorious tradition nurtured by many illustrious sons of teh Shia faith in yesteryears. You seem to be a young man. Ask your elders if they knew of Professor Sayyed Faqir Hussain. The late Professor Sahab was a model of rectitude, and one of the finest logicians who adorned the majalis in Lahore and elsewhere. Also Allamah Syed Akbar Abbas Zaidi, who was the father of Syed Afsar Abbas Zaidi, a fantastic poet in the service of the Shia faith. Mirza Ahmad Ali Sahab, who was the moving spirit behind the Shia Young Men's Association, and the baani of The Hussainyah Hall in Chowk Nawab Sahab, as well as the originator of the Ziayrat-e-Imam Hasan on 28 Safar at Lahore. Rehan Azmi, let us not discuss. He's odious.

Cyan my friend Western feminism has many shades and hues and they vary greatly in their ideological underpinnings, ranging from marxist to existentialist to post-modernist. One just has to look at the works of Freidan, de Bouvier, Greer, A Redstocking Sister, Phyllis Chessler, Diane Ashton, Heinz Marion, Ulla Hom, Patricia Mohammad, Katrina Mohanty, Kathleen Staudt etc. etc, to see how diverse and varied they are in their approach, methodology and epistemology too. What Rawshni is talking here isn't feminism exactly; what she is characterizing is a condition, an unjust condition, that prevails in most sub-continental homes. Since she has lived in country that is more than 90 per cent muslim, and calls itself islamic to boot, she has used Islamic diction to bring home things with telling effect. All the best Wassalaam Exactly. The relationship between the sexes should be goverened by the ordain of Allah, not by man-made [read that as mullah-made] precepts. Integration of women in the labour force is already underway in many muslim societies, and more will follow suit. It is a dictate of the times, and it does not in any way militate against divine ordain. The "Islamic" Republic of Iran is one country which has, in recent years made great strides towards encouraging women to work, and absorb them in productive economic activity.
  20. (salam) If one agreed with the other, voicing the agreement would have re-enforced the respect and confidence of the student. If either one diagreed with the other and kept quiet, a chance to remove misconceptions was let to go by.
