  1. Assalamualaikum I am planning on offering salatul layl for the first time tonight, and I have some questions 1. Can it be offered before midnight 2. Can it be offered sitting down or on a chair, especially for the witr rakat because the qunut is so long 3. Because namaz-e-shab is offered in 4 lots, can I make an intention at the start for all 8 rakats instead of making an intention at every 2 rakat
  2. your eyes can be in the direction of sujood or in front, as long as you don't turn your head or wonder off
  3. assalamualaikum when coming out of ruku, do you say Allah hu akbar then sami Allah hu liman hamidah and Allah hu akbar again or just once at the end?
  4. after finishing a prayer, are u only allowed to perform one sajda al shukr or can u do multiple reciting different duas in each
  5. Is it permissible to pray witr sitting down if I had a really long qunoot that would be tiring to pray standing up? I know if so then 2 rakats will be performed instead of 1. So which rakat is qunoot performed in?
  6. Salams I live in Birmingham, UK, and I've been wondering where can I get a Malhafa for prayer. Or a chador/khimrah. If there's no shops can anyone direct me to a UK website Thanks.
  7. I've been meaning to start praying salatul layl but I'm still not sure on some things.. 1. Is the rakats that aren't the 1 witr just normal and prayed in 2 units? 2. Can you perform this prayer sitting down - or just in witr because I have back aches after standing for a certain period of time and the duas you read in Qunoot seem to be a lot so is it permissible to sit down? 3. What if I don't know 40 people I can pray for? 4. It says when you're in Qunoot you should raise your left hand and have a tasbih in your right if you need it to count. So after the surah before Qunoot
  8. What are the bare minimum actions and things to recite in a prayer to make it valid? Like when I'm in a hurry or the prayer ends soon can I shorten my prayer in any way? And if so is a turbah necessary?
  9. Assalamualaikum, I've been having severe back aches for the last few weeks and it's been quite difficult standing in prayer. So I have been performing sitting down. But when I need to pray on a chair how do I prostrate on a turbah? Like do I pick it up and put it on my forehead or put it on a table and lean on it??
  10. Assalamualaikum. I am a new convert to Shia Islam, alhamdulillah. I am a female living in Birmingham, UK and I don't know any Shia muslims at the moment so I haven't been able to get a turbah to prostrate on. So first off, does anyone know where I can get one? But I've been wondering is a turbah compulsory because up til now I've been prostrating on paper.
  11. Assalamualaikum. I am a recent convert to Shia islam, alhamdulillah. When I was learning how to pray, I was watching videos and looking at images and I couldn't help notice women were wearing prayer dresses and chadors/khimars. Or is this only in muslim countries? My understanding is that women have to cover everything but their face and hands when praying but is a covering like a prayer dress compulsory? Also, I would like to purchase a prayer dress, regardless of if it's compulsory or not and I live in Birmingham, UK so does anyone know where I can buy one. If a prayer dress is not
