Oh Allah! I desire to marry, so arrange for me a woman from those who willingly abstain from what is unlawful and who safeguards her soul for my sake and because of her, not only my means of sustenance will increase, but also make there be in it abundance and also make it sure that she will give me a virtuous son, who will be a noble successor in my life and after my death.

Ya Rabb, help me in finding a good wife in the same boat as me, who also understands and accepts me as I am. May she find peace and be filled with joy wherever she goes. May she have the strength and courage to find me, love me and live with me. May she find and be filled with much wisdom and clarity in her words and from her experiences. May she in her kindness, share these experiences with me and help us grow together. Verily with hardship comes ease. (إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا - 94:6)

Ya Rabb, You alone know what is truly in my heart. You alone know my struggles and pain, Al-Wadud. I feel unbearably lonely and do not wish to incur Your displeasure by remaining unmarried, Al-'Aziz!

Gcc but as Shia I don’t recommend going to uae or Bahrain.

All of the GCC is out of the question for me, except as a visit. That said, I had a dream three years ago that I was living in Kuwait. Allahu allam, it could mean something or nothing at all. May I ask what the issue is with Bahrain? What has changed with the situation there

However, since you are disable, you are right about this, they won’t help you that much because you are not local, but the public hospital try their best to help people even though their service is that that great.

Then living in North America or Europe is a blessing, nobody ever thinks that they would ever be disabled tomorrow but the healthcare service is higher quality. Maybe people should stay and make the societies more Islamic, instead of migrating

  4. @EiE @root @Abu Nur @Diaz

It is an interesting question for me because there is no Middle Eastern or South Asian country that is really worth moving to and raising a family there as a revert. I don't trust or like any of their governments,  the anti-Shia violence and I don't think I would be able to get the medical help I need as a disabled person. No 3000+ dollar salary could convince me to move either.  I don't know, alhamdullilah, at least I don't live in Israel.

Even non Muslims are moving from western countries because they are so tired from their nonsense.

And go where? Which countries, because everywhere you go, there is always some kind of nonsense and Taghut.

ym irresponsible of you? Buddy these are man made laws by kuffar, and you keep arguing for/against them. I do not care about the 2nd amendment, the NRA, etc.

Muslims are expected to abide by the law of the countries  and be civil, not act like a bunch of mindless rabble. Unless, they cannot follow Islam, then they must leave that country. If you do not care about the politics surrounding gun ownership, then you have no business telling people to get a gun. I'm not arguing for or against anything. I'm telling you to please be careful, there are too many people in this country with guns that shouldn't have guns.

This is about muslims defending themselves. How many more mosque shootings do we have to go through? How many more have to die? This is your duty as a man. If you’re afraid and cant overcome, inshallah you overcome the fear.

I agree with you, we should defend ourselves with what we can buy and use. Would it be more reasonable to resort to carrying concealable knives or tasers with us, before carrying pistols/guns with us? Or is the situation so bad that we are past that point?

No, that would be irresponsible of me.  Same as buying gun, without taking into my current situation. However, don't think for a second I wouldn't defend myself or my fellow brethren in Islam. Also be very careful with saying buying a gun is "needed now more than ever.", especially since guns keep getting in the hands of people who have no business being near a gun . (e.g. the mentally ill and political extremists) There is something very wrong with the fact they can shoot and harm people at Allah's house and have easy access to guns.

Same here, that was probably the worst thing the NRA did, making people believe that they could handle a shooting, be the hero and the government wants to steal their guns. That's probably why that 15-year old went out there with an AR-15 and started.  Political extremism, they start them with propaganda young. He wanted to be a "hero".

    They address it, but indirectly.

Therein lies the problem, it is easier to indirectly talk about this issue of marriage  and these barriers to marriage, than to directly confront because it might offend people or make the scholar as a hypocrite to the affected community. Did Muhammad (sawas) spread the Qur'an by indirectly addressing it to Banu Quraysh? No, there were assassination  attempts on him, battles and conflicts and he approached the situations directly. He spread the message and taught  the Qur'an directly. That is another unfortunate side affect of social media, everyone knows that their words can taken out of context and go viral if spoken too directly. People are afraid nowadays. And if the scholars are afraid, then the situation will only get worse .

do not disagree with most of what you are saying but what happens when u only emphasis the point that 'it is possible to not be married and not sin for decades after becoming baligh' then you need to consider how this 'hits' a lot of brothers out there, i would say the vast majority.

How this hits them and how it hit me before I was married is that since it is possible not to sin given those circumstances that means if u sin you are corrupt and u don't deserve to be married

This thread is terrible to read, even reading your comments, it makes me want to give up and at this point in time, with my mother getting older and the idea of having nowhere to go, it makes me feel really angry. Everyone is too fixated on the idea of sex and maybe I am being naïve here but there is clearly more to marriage than pleasuring yourselves or pleading with the "community" for a modicum of lip service and reminders.

Given everything that’s been said, what the communities need to do to bring about change etc etc.. What are some practical steps a young man in his early 20s can take to help his situation?

Move away from big cities and towards smaller towns and villages, where you can build a strong community of Muslims and normalize yourselves as locals.^

I ask nothing more than for our happiness and well-being
