  1. Salam Alaykum, I am not sure if this topic is in the right section, if not please feel free to move it where it belongs. There is something I been thinking about a lot lately. I personally battling it myself. We have marja, laws, what we consider halal or haram, and sometimes the laws have changed or is interpret base on the marja we follow. We are so concern with what is haram and what is halal that we lost our own sense of humanity. We lost our sense or morals, and what is consider us human. We act like robots, we don't question things anymore. Maybe some of us are afraid to question things because we may feel guilty or be in doubt in what we believe in. Maybe we are so scared about the punishment we punished ourselves with. The punishment I'm talking about is the negative self talk we give ourselves when we do something wrong. In my community I see two types of people: extremist and the very westernize people (each to their own), but I feel like we have build a community of robots. No one seem to questions their morals anymore. No one seem to question the information or the source that is brought to us. We act without question. We act without thinking. Imam Ali once said: Consult before you decide and think before you proceed.
  2. Genetics, and fast metabolism. The why their thyroid is makes them burn fat faster. However, just because they are naturally skinny doesnt always mean they are healthy.

      Bismehe Ta3ala

How is your mom feeling now?  I hope she is better.  Do you have access to turbat al Imam al Hussain 3la salam?

  5. schizophrenia and mental illness can be linked to a unhealthy gut. Researchers and doctors have found a linked to our brains and our stomachs. They are saying our stomachs are like a second brain. If our stomachs are not doing so well, it can have a reactions with other parts of our bodies. Having a poor gut health can be linked to chronic pain, fibroalgia, weight gain, weight loss, lack of sleep, depression, anxiety, mood swings, diabetes, digestive issues, thyroid issues, IBS, PCOS, allergies, blood pressure problems, migraines issues. Everything is linked. Might want to look at our diet and what you're doing to affect your health. It is like what that saying goes. Feed the body like crap, it will feel like crap.
  6. Another bad day for her and I lost my faith. Let me be!

  7. I don't want to complain of how sad I am

I don't want to complain of how lost I am

I don't want to complain of insecured I am,

because you would't care, you wouldn't change, you wouldn't listen.

I don't want to complain of how I lost faith

    because it doesn't matter,

    not anymore....

  8. Do you have any resources to help me understand better?
  9. Who was Iblis before being the devil or jinn?
  10. Salam! Yesterday, I was having a conversation with a friend. He is Catholic and studied all religion. We both agreed that most of Christianity stories and Islam mirrors each other. While we were talking I made a connection of Gabriel (Jibrel) that confused me. In the story of Adam, When Allah Rabi asked Gabriel to bow down to Adam, he would not. He disobeyed Allah. There Allah has banished him and turned him into Shayton (Iblis). However, in the story of Mohammed, Gabriel came to Prophet Mohammed as he was in a cave. He told him to read because we know Mohammed was illiterate and could not read before being the Prophet of Islam. Here is my question: If Allah banished Gabriel for disobeying him in his creation of Adam, how does he show up again for Prophet Mohammed. (Please not spamming, or joking. I am asking a serious question and no I'm not a convert).
  11. I really think you should consider this. Our duas are answer by 1. praying for it and 2. by actions.
  12. Salam! I will pray for you sister, but I have something to suggest to you. There is a huge linked now between our Gut and our brain. They are saying, if you have poor eating choices, sensitivity to certain foods, Gluten allergies, Lactose allergies, irregular bowel, irregular behavior, weight gained, weight loss, headaches, lack of sleep, metal illness and more is because of what we our putting in our bodies and how our body is reacting to it. We are not getting enough (or at all) probiotics (Good bacteria) to balance the body out. This is not a tready thing! There so many studies that our stomach and our brains are linked. They are saying our stomach is our second brain. https://www.health.harvard.edu/diseases-and-conditions/the-gut-brain-connection Inshallah kerim. I wish you the best of luck!
  13. Some days are harder than others.

  14. @Amira00 nicely put. I'm sorry for your mom.
  15. I can relate. I don't have diabetes, but I too think the same way of my condition. This is what people told me and I think it fits. Here is what they have said to me: Maybe Allah has a good reason for this condition. Maybe he has made this condition on you to show you one day why? Maybe you wont know today or tomorrow, but someday you will. There is always a reason for everything Allah has put in our way. Instead of denying what has happened to you, embrace it. Use it to your advance. You can do what everyone else can!
  16. This topic makes me angry. This is only my opinion, I do not like the title of the this post. I couldn't even get passed the first 30 seconds of the video. I don't think seeing cancer in a positive way is going to make the condition or the pain bearable. Unless you seen both parents suffer and one passed from it, you will never understand what it is like or how it feels like. Pain is washing away the sins? Imagine your inside screaming at you and nothing you can say or do to make it better because lets be honest, cancer is a process of dying. Unless you're lucky, you can do chemotherapy and radiation, and there! The treatment is just as bad as the cancer. Just to live! To be with your families and not give up. No! Cancer is not a give from God. Allah rabi does not want to see his people in pain.
  17. Are you Really fasting???

A few young men saw an old man eating a sandwich in a secluded place.

They went near him and asked, "Mr, why aren't you fasting?"

The old man replied, "What do you mean? I am fasting! I just eat and drink water."

The young lads laughed and asked, "How can you fast in such a manner?"

The old man replied, "Its simple, I don't lie, I don't abuse or slander anyone, I don't backbite, I don't hurt anybody, I am not jealous of anyone, I protect my eyes from watching haraam, I do my duties and fulfill my responsibilities honestly and I refrain from eating haraam. But because of a disease, I'm not allowed to refrain from food and water."

The old man then asked the youth, "Are you fasting too?"

With heads hanging down, one of them replied in a barely audible voice, "No, we just don't eat food."

"Are we really fasting this Ramadan?"

  18. I couldnt get past the first few minutes. It depends on you're outlook of what you consider a gift. I saw more pain than please. Sorry, IMO I dont see it as a gift and I'll never will. Unless you have seen both parents suffered from it and one passed away, while another has to live with it for the rest of her life; you wont ever see it as a gift.
  19. I'm so sick of all the muslims asking why I'm not fasting. How about worry about your own soul and not mine.
  20. I'm not going to pretend,

    I am who I am,

I am not going to pretend,

to be someone I am not.

I am not going to pretend,

    that your opinion matter,

because who I am is what I am,

and who I am is what I like being.
