  2. Salaam, I ask this in all seriousness. There is only one thing, ONE THING, that makes me question my faith and it is the topic of parents in Islam. Why is it that a child can be treated harshly, degraded, mentally and physically abused, and yet is expexcted to still treat their parents perfectly and always obey them? Especially girls. I literally do not understand it. It makes me question Allah's wisdom if ignorant people can be put in charge of some one and even oppress them (because lets be real, theyre are worse parents out there who literally oppress their daughters and destroy their mental health but apparently this is halal and enouraged?). I never hear Imams say at khutbahs "treat your children well because they are muslims with the right of any other muslim" or anything like that. All i ever hear is "obey your parents or you might go to hell". Growing up in America where i see parents sacrificing everything for their child's happiness and always supporting their choices, it just doesnt make sense to me that in Muslim culture the child is suppose to sacrifice everything for their parent's happiness... I get it, most 15 year old girls are immature and NEED the wisdom of their parents. But in this day and age, a 25-30 year old working women is much more mature and wise. It would make more sense to me if Islam had a cap, like after age 30, a women doesnt need her parents approval for something. It boggles my mind that their are 30-something year old virgin Muslim women with amazing careers who need their parents permission on everything. Just because they are virgins. Only because they are virgins. This also places such a HUGE importance on sex when there are so many important things is life, like gaining knowledge, praying, fasting, charity, being a kind person etc. Its almost implying that a women is not mature or intelligent until she gets married and loses her virginity. I have VPs showing me more respect for my ideas and decisions than my parents most of the time.... Sorry for the long post, its just been bothering me a lot. I want to understand but i cant see the logic in it.
  3. Salaam bro, hope youre doing well iA :)

  4. That is true... Good point. But Skype can also be hacked.
  5. Can we have a Skype session on the moon? Why is the calender based on something that is just a projection...
  6. Brother sami, what if we do not know 2 momins? I live in the west, I know plenty of Muslims but Muslims here are the minority and always trying to fit in with the non Muslims. I know some very good muslims, but I don't think they are momins. The only one I know lives in Canada and I don't visit Canada very often.
  7. Here is an example of what I mean.skip to 2:40 min in.
  8. Actually I do have a question, if you film the moon near the time of the full moon something strange happens, the moon seems to have this wave go thru it.... It looks like the waves you see on old televisions. What's up with that? Is the sky just a projection?
  9. I can wait, I can read and learn from what others ask you, as other grass hoppers ask good questions, plus I work 6 days a weeks now so I'm much busier.

  11. Allhumdulilah, how are you and your family? Give them my salaams :)Inshallah, I hope many people PM you for a Skype session.
  12. Salaam br sami, will you be doing another Skype session again? Your views are very insightful. I especially enjoy the ones where you talk about things that are contrary to what one would think is true and make u really think about the Prophet (s). My favorite was when you talked about if the Prophet (s) would be an environmentalist or a "greenie". I also think it's nice to have a live interactive discussion if you can get enough people to listen. Ws

  22. if youre seeiously asking, I usually saw jinn as small black/red orbs/dots but can see them in any form from a spider to ghost-like shape to a shadow in the form of a man. I dont just see jinn but theyre more common in society esp with all that jinn music being played literally everywhere and in every car and from every phonewhy do you ask?
  23. When I was little I got a certain negative feeling when I saw jinn whichwas both physical and emotional... Got that same feeling when I saw a pic of Aleister Crowley which I havent felt in years...
