  1. Is it true that if you do something haram (like eat or drink something for example...) that your duas and prayers will not be accepted or counted for 40 days? Is there a hadees that states this?
  2. I have done some things in the past that I am not proud of. I won't get into details but basically some haram things that I now regret. I am striving to be a better muslim and the main thing I want to do is ask Allan for forgiveness. What can I do? How do I ask for forgiveness such that He will accept if? I know I won't be perfect but I'm just striving to be better. Advice?
  3. A shia guy and I have been talking for a few weeks now. We both are starting to have feelings for each other. I told my mom right off the bat about him as I didn't want to keep anything from her. He, on the other hand, has not told his parents yet. He is saying that he will tell his mom soon (in the next week or so) and will have her do istikhara before we proceed any further. He said that while he doesn't need istikhara, his mom will only go forward if she does this. I am just stressed that the istikhara will come out bad. I told him that if it comes out negative we will need to stop talkin
  4. Salaam, I am just very unhappy with my life but i know that this one thing will make it so much better. I do not want to say what exactly it is that I want and would make my life better...but it is not anything harram. I am not the best Muslim in the world but I am trying to become better everyday. Anyway I just need one prayer/dua/amaal/niyaz/mannat that I can do which is the most effective. I really want this to happen but I know I need to pray to Allah. Do you have any effective prayers that you did which made your deepest desire/wishes come true?
  5. He is Aga Khani but he and his family consider themselves Muslim. Muslim is anyone that believes in Allah, Prophet Muhammed, and the Quran (which they do). They are considered Shia because they believe in Imam Ali and all of the same seven Imams that we do...except then they diverge and now have I believe 49 Imams. So yes they are Muslim, they just practice and believe slightly differently.
  6. What is the ruling behind this (if there is any)? Can a Shia ithna-Asheri girl marry an Ismaili guy? I know they are considered muslims however they do things very differently...
  7. Thank you. Have you found your mannat to come true in the past??
  8. Salam, I am sorry if this topic has been discussed before---I am new to this forum so I have no idea if it has. Anyways there is something that I really want and would like to do dua for. My mother says that doing a "bibi ki kahani" mannat always works and I have found this to be true. But I am wondering if you know of any other mannats that can be done? What about reading ziyarat ashura? Any response is greatly appreciated :)
