  1. sorry to inform you but someone lied to you. I've met many sunnis, I'm sure more than you have and no a single person believes in tashbih. As for false rubbish sunnis supposedly spread about shia, you should read some of the things you ulama have written and in this day and age, you should see/listen lectures from your ulema. Anyway lets by all means have our discussion, I've been busy with work so response will be a bit late but I'll try to respond as soon as I can. Starting things off, what is the shia belief with regards to tashbih? What are your beliefs with regards to the imam? what
  2. @Pure Ethics Many of the points you raised are quite silly but I have no interest in debating you on these trivial issues. But you did bring up tashbih which is an issue of aqeedah so I'll like to present to the best of my ability the position of ahl sunnah on tashbih (anthropomorphism) which is what you eluded to by some of the ahadith you posted. Historically, there has been an anthropomorphic group in Islamic history. This group took every word in the quran and hadith literally. So, for example the verse in surah al-fath says Allah's hands is over their hands (48:10) if you take this l
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong but you're the same brother who tried to argue with me when I explained to another brother that shia belief their Imams are superior to the prophets(as). If I remember correctly you said I was wrong, you only changed your mind after a group of shia corrected you and said that they indeed do believe their Imams are superior to the prophets. The point being, shia belief that the Imams are superior to the prophets is elementary and yet you didn't know that, with all due respect you have more research to do. If you are happy with being shia and are convinced of it, then
  4. Walaykum-salaam It was a quick copy and paste job, I wasn't really go for aesthetics. Next time I'll make sure to beautify my posts just for you lol. Yes, may Allah (azwj) be pleased with all of them (ra). I wound recommend you read the seerah of the sahaba (ra), especially the rightly guided caliphates. I know you are shia but you should also read the sunni perspective, at the very least it will give you a nuance understanding of the different views.
  5. O my Master, send your salutations and blessings forever Upon Your Beloved, the best of the whole of creation Muhammad is the master of the two worlds and of Man and the jinn Leader also of the Arabs, non-Arabs and their kin Beloved by Allah is he upon whose pleading we depend From terrors of the Day of Judgement, which on us descend Then we ask You to be pleased with Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, ‘Ali and ‘Uthman the generous one O my Lord! with the Elect One make us attain our goals And forgive us for what has passed, O Most Munificent One!
  6. No traditional scholar from ahl sunnah will ever say the caliphate was usurped from sayyiduna ali (ra). Our believe is that the three who came before him (ra) were deserving and qualified for that position. If this teacher is saying that, that is fine. He is entitled to his opinion but that by no means represents the position of ahl sunnah wal jammah. No one from ahl sunnah doubts/denies the qualities of sayyiduna ali (ra), he is our imam and leader and we consider ourselves his true followers. We are not extreme in our love for him nor do we dislike him. We are also lovers of sayyiduna
  7. The position of ahl sunnah is that sayyiduna abu bakr (ra) is the first caliph. with sayyiduna ali (ra) being the fourth. The traditional position of ahl sunnah is that the khulafa rashidun are five in number, with sayyiduna hasan bin ali (ra) being the fifth. this will be a good place to post something on the ahl sunnah position on sayyiduna hasan bin ali (ra): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9lnm9wXIAQ#t=1 the first link is part 1/3 about imam hasan bin ali (ra)
  8. Someone recently mentioned how ahl sunnah wal jammah denied the caliphate of imam (ra). Of course this is not true, I thought about writing a long response detailing what ahl sunnah beliefs with regards to imam Ali (ra) and the rest of ahl bayt (as). But realized I would have to go into what we believed and did not believe. Debates etc etc. I just didn't want to go through all that, maybe another time and I've been pretty busy so instead I'm going to post some informative videos which details the ahl sunnah position on some important personalities in Islamic history. I'm starting off with
  9. This is the ahl sunnah wal jammah position on sex change. Sex change is not permissible if the person has complete male and female sexual organs. This is because like you said it would be changing the creation of Allah (swt), which is haram. However sex change is permissible for someone who carries features of both male and female sexual organs (hermaphrodite). These people tend to incline towards a particular gender, either male or female. In this case, the change is considered a treatment, for a sick person. This person can be help with surgery or hormonal treatments. The main point i
  10. Ooh I see, so HaxisTheShia, you believe that ahl sunnah are Kafir? Show me proof from shia sources. Also tell me what beliefs you have with regards to the Imams? What is you opinion on the sahaba (ra) and the wives of the prophet (saw). Also aside from yassir al habib what scholars to you follow? I'm very interested in what you have to say.
  11. LOL what book is he reading from(At the end of the video it seems he indicates it's a hadith, which one, what book)? So basically if you're not shia you're homosexual or a [Edited Out] depending on your gender. Homosexuality for males and being a [Edited Out] for females. My question is why not lesbianism for the females? Did the shia scholar/s who wrote the book he's reading not realize that females can also be homosexual or are shia liberal towards lesbianism? Educate me on shia fiqh! I've heard this guy but....
  12. what was posted also clearly says “The Sunnis have no love for Assad, but the great majority of the community is withdrawing from the revolt,” the source said. “What is left is the foreign fighters who are sponsored by Qatar and Saudi Arabia. They are seen by the Sunnis as far worse than Assad.” Once again had Assad not have the support of iran and hizb he'll be losing this war right now and the situation on the ground would be different. People are going against the revolt because they're suffering severely! Some have had to eat dogs, cats, and grass in order to survive. What do you expec
  13. @ Azaan shah brother do your research and may Allah (azwj) guide you to the right path. Once again you should study aqeedatul tahawiyyah (basic aqeeda of ahl sunnah). May I also add that with ahl sunnah, you'll have ahl bayt, without losing the sahaba or any of wives of the prophet (saw). wasalaam
  14. @Dhulfikar The website I gave brother Azaan shah is a shia website not sunni. The website has nothing to do with ahl sunnah aqeeda. The point I was trying to make when I gave him that link is to prove to him that shia (or some shia) indeed do believe that the imams are superior to the prophets. As for all the ghulat shia beliefs on that site, it only goes to prove that some shia still have/retain some ghulat believes, including shia within the inthna ashariyyah. If anyone is interested in basic aqeeda of ahl sunnah wal jammah it's called aqeeda tahawiyyah...brother Azaan shah wink wink l
