  1. (bismillah) (salam) Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘What a good remedy death is!’[ibid. no. 9905] Imam al-Sadiq (AS) was once asked by Sa`aid b. Yasar whether he should supplicate in the state of prostration or in the state of bowing, to which he replied, 'Supplicate while prostrating for verily the nearest the servant can ever be to Allah is in the state of prostration, so supplicate Allah for your worldly needs as well as for your life in the Hereafter.’[bihar al-Anwar, v. 85, p. 131, no. 6] Imam Zayn al-Abidin (AS) said, 'Whoever quenches a believer of his thirst, Allah will quench him from the pure sealed wine [of Paradise].’[al-Kafi, v. 2, p. 201, no. 5] The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The one who gives people to drink should himself drink last of all.’[bihar al-Anwar, v. 75, p. 455, no. 24] (wasalam)
  2. (bismillah) (salam) JazakAllah khayr for sharing (wasalam)
  3. I agree that there are some places which are worse than others, Saudi Arabia being one of the worse. However, I still believe that if a woman is completely covered (with a niqab) then there is nothing left to stare at. But of course, I'm not a man so I don't know for sure if its true or not, I can only hope that most men aren't that repulsive. There is nothing left to find attractive, everything is covered. Tbh if I was a man I would be really offended by that.
  4. (salam)It is nonsensical to suggest that the stares received by a woman wearing an abaya and a niqab would be lustful like the stares she might receive if she was dressed indecently. Yes, she may get some odd looks but the two are not comparable.
  5. (bismillah) (salam) I thought it would be beneficial to have a thread where we can recognise some of the inspirational Muslim women of today. Although she is no longer with us, Shaheeda Bint al Huda is an amazing and truly inspirational woman. We can confidently say that she has left a huge impact on today's society. She is an excellent role model for all ages. It is known that from a very young age she had a strong thirst for knowledge and she would spend whatever money she had on books. She then started to write regularly in Islamic magazines. She was made a shaheeda by saddam (la) in 1980. Some current inspirations: - Zahra Al Alawi: - Amina Anloes: http://youtu.be/ZkckeZSKCR8 Sadly, thats all I can think of right now. Please share other inspirational women (wasalam)

  9. (bismillah) O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient. 2:153
  10. (bismillah) The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘If you feared Allah with the fear that He is worthy of, you would be taught the knowledge after which no ignorance ever remains.’ [Kanz al-`Ummal, no. 5881] Imam Ali (AS) said, 'The [valid] opinion comes from balanced judgment, whilst the impetuous and rash opinion is a vile foundation indeed.’[bihar al-Anwar, v. 78, p. 81, no. 76] Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Verily you will be put in tense perplexity and be finely filtered, until you are turned upside down; then certain people will surpass [others] after having lagged behind, while those who were ahead fall back.’[bihar al-Anwar, v. 5, p. 218, no. 12]

  12. Alsalam alaykom Create an area for yourself with little distractions and dimmed lights and sit down for 10-15 min before salah to clear your mind. Think about the suwar that you are reading and try to forget about everything else in this world, remember that you are talking to Allah.
  13. Alsalam alaykom Yeah i know, i have lost count of how many times i have been called an extremist. Mashallah that is the perfect attitude to have and it is so hard to not give in to what people say. Oh its terrible when people say 'you're still young'. Exactly, i completely agree. Its actually tragic how much negativity there is towards those who try and cover up more. I feel your pain sister
