  3. (bismillah) Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani says Muslim people in Gaza will achieve victory against the Israeli regime, adding Tehran will always stand by all oppressed nations, including Palestinians, Iraqis and Syrians. Addressing a large crowd in the southwestern Shahr-e Kord city on Wednesday, the president added the Iranian nation supported the “brave resistance of great and patient Palestinian and Gazan people” over the past month. Muslims in Gaza stood firm in the face of bloodthirsty Zionists’ bombs and missiles, and emerged victorious, said the president. “The great, brave and resistant Iranian nation has always been ready to [defend] not only Iran’s interests but the interests of the Muslim world and the oppressed people in the world,” he added. The Israeli regime’s 29 days of relentless offensive against Gaza claimed the lives of at least 1,875 Palestinians, including 430 children, and wounded over 9,600 others. A 72-hour ceasefire took effect on Tuesday. The Israeli military says 64 of its soldiers have been killed in the conflict, but Hamas puts the fatalities at more than 150. Syria has been gripped by a deadly conflict since 2011. According to the United Nations, more than 160,000 people have been killed and millions displaced due to the turmoil that has gripped Syria. Also in Iraq, the Takfiri ISIL militants took control of Mosul in a lightning advance on June 10, which was followed by the fall of Tikrit, located 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of the capital, Baghdad. Tikrit has been reportedly retaken by the Iraqi army. Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian president said Tehran would continue its policy of “heroic flexibility” in dealing with the West, but will not surrender to big powers. “It is prohibited to succumb to big powers,” Rouhani said He added that the Islamic Republic would apply logic and better reasoning to redeem the rights of the Iranian nation. Rouhani touched on the country's successful talks to have parts of its assets unfrozen, saying the release of at least seven billion dollars in Iranian assets, held tyrannically by the big powers, is a first step. “The Iranian nation will take the next steps with more power. The world knows that threats and sanctions against this great nation will have no effect,” he pointed out. http://presstv.com/detail/2014/08/06/374241/iran-vows-to-back-palestinians-forever/

  6. (bismillah) Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has lashed out at the UN Security Council for its failure to stop Israel’s atrocities in the besieged Gaza Strip. Addressing the ministerial meeting of the Palestine Committee of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Tehran on Monday, Rouhani said “the continuation of the UN Security Council’s indifference and inaction” has emboldened the Tel Aviv regime to continue its crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza. “The inaction and flagrant indifference of the UN Security Council toward the current catastrophe in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, is a blatant symbol of injustice in the Security Council,” said Rouhani. He said effective measures have to be adopted to put an end to such crimes because Tel Aviv is violating human principles. Rouhani, the rotating president of the NAM, further called on the movement to roll up its sleeves to put an end to Israeli “war crimes and genocide” in the coastal sliver. NAM, based on its fundamental standards, should take action to stop the current trend of war crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist regime, said Rouhani. “The Non-Aligned Movement, as an international circle with ample potential and capacities, can and should take basic and firm steps toward the realization of real peace and social justice in line with the inalienable rights of the oppressed Palestinian people,” said the Iranian president. Rouhani further said the crisis in Gaza would not be resolved without the return of Palestinians to their homes. Following Rouhani’s speech, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki said the humanitarian situation in Gaza is at breaking point and people are experiencing unspeakable horrors. He called for an arms embargo on Israel, which, he said, uses military equipment against defenseless Palestinians. Over 1,820 Palestinians have so far been killed and some 9,400 others injured since the Israeli military first launched its offensive against the Gaza Strip on July 8. The Israeli military says three Israeli civilians and 64 soldiers have been killed in the conflict, but Palestinian resistance movement Hamas puts the fatalities at more than 150. http://presstv.com/detail/2014/08/04/373987/iran-slams-unsc-inaction-on-gaza/
  7. (bismillah) An international lawyer says the recent disclosures that the US is directly enabling Israel’s military assaults on Gaza vividly proves Washington’s complicity in every war crime committed by Tel Aviv. Barry Grossman made the remarks in a phone interview commenting on recent reports that showed the US National Security Agency is sharing intelligence on “Palestinian targets” with Israeli spy services. “These disclosures not only expose the US to culpability in the spate of war crimes currently being perpetrated once again by Israel, but also give lie to President Obama’s public pose which implies that the events taking place in Gaza somehow are the inevitable result of factors entirely out the Unites States’ control,” Grossman told Press TV. “Indeed, I take the view that for all intents and purposes, the US security apparatus has been largely hijacked by rogue elements or, if you prefer, a 5th column within its agencies, and that these elements operate to advance agendas which are often at odds with any claim that their primary loyalties are to the United States,” he added. Israel has been pounding the besieged Gaza Strip for 28 consecutive days. At least 1,865 Palestinians have been killed during offensive including over 400 children. The attacks have also left over 9,400 people injured. Documents provided by whistleblower Edward Snowden and published recently by The Intercept show the NSA “maintains a far-reaching technical and analytic relationship with the Israeli SIGINT National Unit (ISNU) sharing information on access, intercept, targeting, language, analysis and reporting.” According to Glenn Greenwald, editor of The Intercept and confidante of Snowden, the “documents illustrate a crucial fact: Israeli aggression would be impossible without the constant, lavish support and protection of the U.S. government.” Grossman says Israel’s control over the US intelligence apparatus is nothing new but many American officials have long feared that criticizing Israel’s operations in the US would be “career suicide.” “The cozy relationship between the Israeli and US intelligence services has been an open secret for a long time, with many insiders complaining that any criticism or investigation of actions by Israeli operatives in the US, even those which might be considered criminal, is career suicide,” he said. “Sadly, it comes as no surprise that we are now learning this cozy relationship has developed to the point of unrestricted ‘data sharing’ which involves the NSA actually providing information to Israel, even during a belligerent military offensive,” Grossman added. “Based on what we now know,” the analyst noted, “It must be assumed that Israel has essentially unlimited access to all the facilities and data available to the 16 agencies comprising the US security apparatus, not to mention the work product of their international partners in the global intelligence and ‘eavesdropping’ apparatus.” “The implications are enormous and exceed even the worst nightmares of George Orwell,” he said. http://presstv.com/detail/2014/08/04/374036/us-key-party-to-israel-war-crimes/
  8. (bismillah) Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says Tehran is waiting for a positive response from Egypt for the dispatch of foodstuff and medical aid to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. “We are waiting for the fulfillment of the Egyptian government’s promises in this regard,” Zarif told reporters on Monday. He added that he has held two telephone conversations with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry on the Israeli regime’s ongoing military offensive in Gaza and the necessity to send humanitarian aid to people in the blockaded enclave. “We hope that the Egyptian government would help Iran’s medical aid and foodstuff reach the people in Gaza and prepare the ground for the transfer of the injured Palestinians, who are mostly children, to Iran,” Zarif said." The Iranian minister noted that despite promises by the Egyptian government, Tehran has not received "a serious response" yet. “We hope that the Egyptian government would help Iran’s medical aid and foodstuff reach the people in Gaza and prepare the ground for the transfer of the injured Palestinians, who are mostly children, to Iran,” Zarif said. Pointing to the day-long meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Committee on Palestine over the situation in Gaza, he added that the event in Tehran conveyed the message to the world that the majority of people do not accept silence and indifference regarding the ongoing crisis in the besieged enclave. “It is necessary that Muslim countries, members of the Non-Aligned Movement and Arab states adopt a coordinated measure to defend the Gazans and exert pressure on the Zionist regime [israel] and its allies to end their crimes,” the Iranian minister pointed out." He expressed regret that the international community has failed to play an active role to put an end to the Israeli regime’s atrocities in Gaza as a result of the US and certain Western countries’ support for Tel Aviv. “It is necessary that Muslim countries, members of the Non-Aligned Movement and Arab states adopt a coordinated measure to defend the Gazans and exert pressure on the Zionist regime [israel] and its allies to end their crimes,” the Iranian minister pointed out. 9. (bismillah) A senior Iranian military commander says Iran is ready to fully support the "growing" Palestinian resistance movement. “We are prepared to support the Palestinian resistance in various aspects. In defending Muslims, we recognize no distinction between Shias and Sunnis,” commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Monday. He added that the Gaza conflict indicated that the power of Palestinian resistance is “endless and growing.” The IRGC commander further emphasized that the number of rockets launched into Israel and the Palestinian fighters' ability in confronting the Israeli ground invasion is proof to the Palestinian resistance’s growing power. He added that the events in the Gaza Strip and Iraq are the result of the joint US-Israeli policies. “The Zionist regime [of Israel] will collapse soon as a result of the unity among Shia and Sunni Muslims and we are ready for that day,” Jafari pointed out." Medical sources say at least 1,822 people, including 400 children, have been killed and over 9,400 injured since the Israeli regime began its offensive against the Gaza Strip on July 8. “The Zionist regime [of Israel] will collapse soon as a result of the unity among Shia and Sunni Muslims and we are ready for that day,” Jafari pointed out. Palestinian resistance fighters are continuing their rocket attacks against Israeli cities in retaliation for the Tel Aviv regime’s relentless onslaught on the blockaded Gaza Strip. The Israeli military says 64 Israeli soldiers have been killed in the four-week conflict, but Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, puts the fatalities at more than 150. http://presstv.com/detail/2014/08/04/374002/iran-ready-to-fully-support-palestine/

  12. (bismillah) Noam Chomsky, the renowned Jewish American thinker, says Israel has committed “a major war crime” as it continues to attack the besieged Gaza Strip. Israel has been pressing ahead with heavy offensive on Gaza amid international condemnation to stop the bloody onslaught which has claimed the lives of at least 1,700 Palestinians. More than 9,000 people have also been injured since the beginning of the aggression nearly four weeks ago. Chomsky told Press TV that Israel is much worse than the former apartheid regime in South Africa. “Hospitals have been attacked repeatedly. Each one is a war crime. In fact, for Israel to fire one bullet across the border is also a crime. Trials for war crimes only apply to the defeated. Within the occupied territory, Israel’s polices are much worse than apartheid,” he said in a phone interview. He said Israel faces economic isolation over occupying Palestinian territories. He called for an arms embargo on Tel Aviv. Chomsky also criticized Arab leaders for supporting Washington’s pro-Israel policies in the past years. Israel has intensified its airstrikes on Gaza after it was reported that an Israeli soldier had been captured by Palestinian resistance fighters there. On Friday, US President Barack Obama called on the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas to “unconditionally” release the Israeli soldier. "If they are serious about trying to resolve this situation, that soldier needs to be unconditionally released as soon as possible," Obama said in a news conference. Obama framed the release of 23-year-old Hadar Goldin as a precondition for a possible ceasefire. Latest figures show the ongoing Israeli air and ground strikes have claimed the lives of more than 350 children across the strip. http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2014/08/02/373806/chomsky-israel-committed-war-crimes/

  14. (bismillah) Iran's foreign minister has once again slammed the Israeli regime’s aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip, saying Tel Aviv maintains a policy of systematically killing children and the elderly in the Palestinian territory. "The Zionist regime is with villainous viciousness pursuing the killing of children and the elderly as a national policy," Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday. The Iranian minister criticized international organizations for remaining tight-lipped on Israeli atrocities in the blockaded coastal enclave and stressed the need for unity among Muslim nations in the wake of the Israeli aggression. In the face of the Israeli atrocities and the typical silence of international organizations regarding these crimes, Zarif said, "It is crucial to focus on the capacities of the Islamic world and gaining a real understanding of Muslims abilities.” The top Iranian diplomat also noted that the Islamic world is currently facing the “bitter reality” of the formation of anti-Islamic movements that spread “fratricide and strife” in the name of Islam. In the face of the Israeli atrocities and the typical silence of international organizations regarding these crimes, Zarif said, "It is crucial to focus on the capacities of the Islamic world and gaining a real understanding of Muslims abilities.” The anti-Islamic movements carry out brutal acts in Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria and other Islamic states and create discord among Muslims through sedition, he added. The Israeli regime has been targeting the Gaza Strip with military attacks since July 8. The air, sea and land strikes have so far killed at least 1,755 people and injured over 9,200 others, according to Palestinian sources. According to figures released by Gaza's Health Ministry officials, among those killed were 398 children, 209 women and 74 elderly men. Meanwhile, thousands of people have been staging demonstrations in different countries around the world in protest against the ongoing Israeli military aggression against Palestinians in the blockaded Gaza Strip. http://presstv.com/detail/2014/08/03/373878/killing-kids-elderly-israeli-regime-policy/
