    Peace,

I am saying this as a Christian. In Christianity it is highly not recommended to marry someone you don't have any attraction. If you can't think of touching him or her erotically after marriage then you should not marry the person. Yes, good character is very important but if the physical side is not there then you should stop before the marriage happens.

Also, Christianity does NOT deny the physical pleasures of marriage. The person above who said that Christianity views sex as only for procreation is totally wrong. That is a Catholic doctrine (not a Christian one) and true Christianity encourages sexual delight in marriage.

I hope things work out for you in the long run. If you have doubts now, you will have more doubts after marriage.

Christians do not advocate violence, except in self-defense. In the Old Testament, God allowed the Israelites to destroy the Canaanites because they were to inherit the Promised Land. Also, some Jewish and Christian theorists say that the Canaanites were infected with "demon DNA" and they were corrupted by the fallen ones (the Jinn in Islam). That is why some Canaanites were giants (please read Genesis 6). God wanted to purify the land of these corrupted human beings and the only way was through warfare.

    Hello all and peace,

I'm a first time poster and I registered because I want to ask a question about the Quran and the use of violence.

First, I'm a Christian (Protestant) who lives in the west. Second, I'm not ignorant of Islam and I'm fully aware of the various sects within Islam. Third, I believe that Christians and Muslims can dialogue peacefully for the greater good.

My question has to do with the use of violence according to the Quran. Recently, there is a tragic news coming from Iraq that a group of Sunni militants attacked a church killing men, women, and children there.

My question is this: according to the Quran is it allowable to kill innocent people because they follow a different religion even if they do not fight against you? I really want an honest answer here. I know that most of the murders of non-Muslims in the Middle East are done by Sunni extremists (like radical Wahabis and Salafis). I was wondering, however, what the opinion of Shias (Jafari, Ismaili, or Zayidi) and mainstream Sunnis on violence against innocent nonbelievers are.

I also believe that ANY religion that promotes or permits violence against innocent people just because of different religious beliefs is Satanic. That is why I believe those extremist Salafis in the Middle East who kill innocent non-Muslims are demonic and Satan followers. The Quran, from what most Muslims told me, do not advocate continual violence against non-Muslims if they are living in peace.

    Thank you.
