notme got a reaction from Ashvazdanghe in Donald J. Trump [OFFICIAL THREAD]
The Constitution of the United States forbids the president from declaring war. However, since the 1950s, Congress has abdicated this responsibility. The euphemism "police action" was invented during the US involvement in the Korean War to bypass the Constitution and allow the president to unilaterally wage war. Congress did not want to declare an unpopular war.

Trump and the Project 2025 cultists want us to violently revolt. We must continue to use peaceful resistance as long as we possibly can. They grow weaker and lose more public support the longer they exist.

notme got a reaction from Ashvazdanghe in Why are women like this
Women are socially trained to be polite, above all else.
There is also the possibility that she is indeed interested and would consider getting to know you at a later time, but wants you to be aware that right now is not a good time.

Apologize to your mother, pray for forgiveness, then never do it again.

Trump also perpetuated the claim that Obama was not American. Trump lies.

In general, don't get your hopes high, chuds. As we know only too well, 'nothing ever happens'.

Even if he was hypothetically good in every way, he is facing a massive corrupt system which will try to stop him from every angle. I will be happy if he keeps up his anti-genocide/imperialist rhetoric and freezes rent. That's better than what came before him.

You're right.
She will simply miss out, as will you, if it would have been a good match.
But you didn't ask how; you asked why.
If she is actually interested and has told you "not yet", it is upon her to ask about your availability when she is ready. Probably she will not - again, social training.

notme reacted to Hamdi999 in Genocide in Sudan...?
Everyone I know or seen is calling it a genocide, this is a strawman argument. No one is denying the savagery of the rsf in their genocide, except supporters of the UAE.
Not everything has to be turned into a debate on ethnicities, I don't know why often when I see your posts, you have a tendency to do this. Please find something better to do rather than looking at every subject from a racial lense. It gets ridicilous at times and you start sounding no diffirent than an unhinged liberal whos into identity politics.

@Hamdi999 revolution is what we need. Violence is what Project 2025 wants. It'll be a miracle if we can manage a peaceful revolution, but it'll only be possible if people have knowledge. I know it's a long shot, but I have to keep trying. I don't want my children to endure violence, but I do want them to reap the benefits of a new and humane and people-oriented government. I will continue to push for peaceful revolution as long as I am able.

@Hamdi999 you're right. But they need to know that they are wrong and the ignorant brainwashed public needs to know too. When, finally, justice has its day, they will face the consequences.
Definitely the requirement to refuse to obey illegal orders is part of their basic training. I was in the Army from 1991 to 1997. They have no grounds to claim ignorance. If they commit murder, they are guilty of murder, even if "following orders", crayon eaters right along with GI Bill hopefuls.
No empire lives forever.

One can wish this day will come, but this will either happen if america loses a war and is forced by external powers into a nuremburg like trial or if their own people the american people do a revolution.
I remeber you did mention this, but the thing is, most of them think it's legal no? It's justified with the AUMF. Otherwise all american soldiers should go to jail, because they can't use ignorance if it was illegal in american laws. And with international laws, practically all american soldiers are guilty, but I think it would be extreeme to procecute them all, as most of them are clueless and are brainwashed to think theyre being patriotic.
But as for murder "just following orders" is a terrible excuse.
By the way you're right at being frustrated by this, many people should be better and should inform themselves before doing this stuff, but most people are trying to get by, are busy with life, etc... to even think this through. Most of these soldiers are convincing themselves that what they're doing is patriotic and good for their country or "not that bad", there is this constant cognitive dissonance happening in their minds. But resolutions like AUMF complicate this a lot, because most of them think what theyre doing is legal.
The people that really should be punished are the people in charge and the ones who commited warcrimes like murder, they have 0 excuses.
Edit:
I also think about the fact that educating people about these things seems fruitless, for example in canada they thought us about fascism, genocides, colonialism, etc... then when canadians see israel doing these exact same things, for the first few months in 2023, they refused to criticize anything, most people went into cognitive dissonance and said "its complicated", until they started getting flooded with videos and videos and israels PR became awful that they started opposing israel.
This to me shows education in the western world is not that great, I doubt it's any diffirent in the army, they get taught these things, then they forget about it or they justify what their president is doing.

I like to periodically remind the public that if military personnel follow illegal orders, they will be prosecuted. "Following orders" is not a valid legal defense. They are obligated to refuse to comply.
Hopefully they will remember that. It's part of their training.

notme reacted to Hamdi999 in Moon landing is a hoax?
I have a hard time seeing the moon landings as fake, considering many ennemy countries of the US have accepted it as a fact. Are the US, iran, israel, north korea, russia, china and previously the USSR all cooperating with eachother in a conspiracy to claim the moon landings as real? No.
And if there was any credible evidence of them being fake, they would have called it out for PR purposes, but they didn't and they would know more easily than us the average joe if they landed or not.
This is why these discussions become as absurd as flat earther discussions, you'd have to beleive in this ridicilous notion that they're all collaborating with eachother to make americas PR better. Instead of denying it or atleast saying "we don't know".
Not everything the US says is false too, sometimes they say the truth. They said saddam hussein was a tyrant. Was he a tyrant? Yes he was. Was gaddafi a tyrant? Yes he was. Is the US right in saying the earth is a globe? Yes they are. See? Not everything they say is also propaganda, you have to distinguish it, it's fine to commit the genetic fallacy on american sources, they lie like they breath oxygen, but you also have to not do it to every claim comming out of the US, especially when it's ridicilous to do so.

notme got a reaction from Ashvazdanghe in Thoughts 2025
I've been on food stamps in the past. They don't give them out easily. You have to be really nearly destitute to qualify. When I was a single mom to two kids and earning $12,000 per year, we did not qualify - my income was too high.
Where I live, the state is going to provide food assistance to fill the gap. In poorer states they will not be able, and in some states the state level politicians just will not because they don't care about their people.
Trump and all the Project 2025 radicals are horrible people. Many or most of them should have been arrested long ago. Trump himself is a saboteur. I've been saying that since 2015, but only now a few people are starting to see.

Yes, but avoid wearing clothing that has cat hairs on it while you are praying.
