It is still wajib to pray for 40 days. And it is not wajib to make these prayers up as qadha. But it wont have the spiritual effect prayer is supposed to have.

Ayatollah Bahjat (qas) was asked a similar question- what is required for one to be among the "mukhliseen". His reply- perform the actions which are required of the mukhliseen!
There is no magic formula or amal- everything is already there for us. I.e. one can follow the book Mafatih al Jinan to become of the mukhliseen, all of the resources are available for us, and this applies to my dreadful soul before all others, inshallah we can all reach such states- here is a recent thread to help you akhi, and to help us all : http://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235019198-worship/

    Dear brother-
May Allah bless you for your excellent efforts inshAllah.

With regards to listing public/ gov organisations, I can only probably list those from m own country:

    Local Council
    MP/ house of lords
    Muslim Council of Britain

Essentially, anybody who has potential influence on government policy should be spoken to about this, in the way which suits the situation.

By the way, the MP mentioned in that letter I posted replied very shortly- the fact that an MP sends a letter to a foreign secretary at least means that the foreign secretary of Britain has had it made clear to him that we will not stand for this oppression by the current Saudi government.

My apologies if I sounded like I was accusing brs. and sis. in Post 1- I did not intend for it to be a suggestion nobody is doing anything- rather, I should maybe have had a bit more basirah in this regard and made it more clear what we should be doing.

One last thing I suggest to my dear brs. and sis. is this. To be a little bit careful when talking about these issues on line. You see, as a Shia website, no doubt there are gov. agencies watching us right now. There are a lot of people who think they can say online what they can say in a country which has more Muslim influence on gov. policies. People should be particularly careful not to say or do anything online they wouldn't want government orgs. to get their hands on, particularly when it is an issue mentioning a foreign government. I think we should keep our wits about us online when conducting pressures on governments for human rights purposes not to go overboard and say something wrong, God forbid.

Never underestimate the power of a letter written to your local member of parliament. This is the good work of a British sister.

h_al_s got a reaction from Hameedeh in A Desperate Plea - Ayatollah Nimr Al Nimr
    (salam)
Dear brothers and sisters in faith and humanity.
As we speak, Ayatollah Nimr al Nimr (ha) is being held in custody by the oppressive al-Saud regime. He is being held right now and has had his sentence of death upheld. I read somewhere about crucifixion being the means of execution, though I have no means of confirming that atm.

All that I know is that at this moment in time, a brother in faith is in desperate need of our help. There are people who maybe think that they cannot make any difference. If every single mumin put their work effort together they could help every other mumin in the world. This great wajib of protecting the life of a great soul, especially the one of a great alim, leader, politician and friend of Allah, the Prophet and the Ahlul Bayt (as) like Ayatollah al Nimr [ha]- and the last statement is by no means something of an understatement- is coming clear right now. We have a duty to act, so long as we can protect the life of Ayatollah al Nimr. Now, I am no expert in fiqhi issues, so forgive me if I said anything wrong, and please correct me below if I did say anything wrong- but all mankind must unite to save this man.

Rights organisations don't seem to give much attention to this- there is no pressure on governments or anything of this sort. Whilst the western media made a big show of portraying Islam negatively when a Christian lady was sentenced to death in Sudan (note- we in no way express condoning of this Sudani trial at all) - when a true fighter for Human rights like Ayt. Nimr is going to get executed nobody gives a damn.

This is why it is for us to act:

Western governments are bound to listen to their people. If only one or two people complaining they won't really care- but if enough people mention something to their representatives in parliament etc. they will act. It seems that online petitions don't really matter that much to people in power. But if every single one of us sends a letter to our local member of parliament, or council member they will act. No doubt about that. If every one of us was to send letters to human rights councils right now, to send letters to UN affiliated bodies and so on, then we would succeed.

No doubt, Allah will grant success to the believers if we all work together against the common enemy of evil, and work towards good. Th

Please do not let our dear Ayatollah suffer anymore. Each and every one of us can do something about this great evil which has befallen mankind. Make sure that pressure is put on Saudi. Government to stop the execution of Ayatollah al Nimr. Please do not neglect it.No doubt, Allah will grant success to the believers if we all work together against the common enemy of evil, and work towards good. This is why I have selected a few hadiths here from mizan al hikmah, but a greater selection are on the link- I couldn't copy all of them across unfortunately:

    http://directory.world-federation.org/sites/default/files/uploaded_files/Mizan%20al%20Hikmah.pdf

2– The Prophet Õáì Çááå Úáíå æÂáå said, ‘The Prophet Õáì Çááå Úáíå æÂáå said, ‘Verily Allah, Mighty and Exalted, despises the weak believer who has no religion [i.e. has no devotion to his religion].’ When asked who a believer with no religion is, he replied, ‘He who does not prohibit wrong.’[al-Kafi, v. 5, p. 59, no. 15] 6– Imam Ali (as) said, ‘Know that enjoinment of good and prohibition of wrong never reach an end, and never cut off sustenance.’[al-Kafi, v. 5, p. 57, no. 6]  8– Imam al-Baqir (as) said, ‘Verily the enjoinment of good and the prohibition of wrong is the path of the prophets, the way of the righteous, a great obligation on which all other obligations are founded and on which ideologies are secured, by which earnings are made lawful, by which iniquities are redressed, through which the earth flourishes, justice is sought from enemies and [Allah’s] command is kept upright.’[al-Kafi, v. 5, p. 56, no. 1]   9– The Prophet Õáì Çááå Úáíå æÂáå said, ‘You must enjoin good indeed and you shall prohibit wrong otherwise the chastisement of Allah will surely overtake you.’[Wasael al-Shi`aah , v. 11, p. 407, no. 12]    Each and every one of us can make a difference. We can either enjoin among the greatest goods (saving the life of a great Mumin Mujtahid) or enjoin the greatest of evils, and let ayatollah al nimr suffer for the satanic nature of other people.   My dear friends, please do not forget me and all of the believers from your duas- I am particularly having some problems in my life right now, and the duas of my mumin brothers and sisters are humbly requested; I am sure that all of us know somebody who is in need right now, so let us not forget any mumin from our duas, especially the respected maraji and scholars.  Of course, please remember Ayt. Nimr and his family in your duas. This is friday night/day for most of us- inshAllah all our hajaat may be accepted. This is a chance for all of us to join together regardless of labels- often we spend so long cursing people of other sects, faiths, even people of different maraji- yet we don't work together against a common evil.   And lastly- do not forget the 12th Imam from your duas- may Allah hasten his reappearance through our being ready for him, and may he return to remove all evil that has penetrated the world in our times.    Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah ? Little do you remember   Please share this plea on social media-inshAllah other people will be inspired to make a change.Wasalam, wa rahmatAllah wa baraktu

As a person who also slander haj bassim [ha], I would humbly like to apologise and also to try and put right this slander by posting this video:
Basically, Bassim says that it is ayb [wrong] to insult Sayyid Ali Khamenei [ha] [he calls him Qaed which= Rahbar/Leader] and to claim that he doesn't do latam for Hussain (as) and that actually, he was talking about the nawasib, where he says 'their prayers and fasts are not accepted'. update on the letter which i posted above.
I have spoken to the mentioned sister, and the MP office promised to copy me in, but she has not had a reply from the Foreign Secretary.
Sadly, there is not much we can do when the worlds governments support this maloon dictatorship, other than make petitions, send letters- and these don't get any response from the relevant authorities.
All I can say- don't put your trust in these evil and corrupt governmetns, but do your best to pressure them. The good efforts of the above mentioned sister seem to have gone to waste, but we still have a chance to solve this injustice, inshAllah.

inshAllah continued pressure on these governments will work, so we shouldn't lose hope-that is what they want.

May Allah save all mumineen from the unjust tyrants, and grant us patience, taqwa and imaan

h_al_s got a reaction from Martyrdom in Al Aqsa Mosque Under Threat!
    Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi (ha):

One hears very disturbing news these days from the city of Al-Quds concerning the violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Zionists. It is not permissible to keep silent about an issue such as the brutal assault on the Palestinian prayers and the incineration of some parts of Al-Aqsa Mosque by hundreds of Zionist soldiers which has repeated after 47 years.
The extremist Zionists have become so insolent and shameless that, in addition to this violation, they have staged a demonstration around the first Kiblah of Muslims and have called for the demolition of Al-Aqsa Mosque so that they would be able to build a temple of their own in its stead.
I extend my appreciation to some of the religious leaders and authorities as well as the people of the Islamic countries, including the prayers of the Friday Prayer in Tehran and other cities of Iran who immediately reacted to this desecration, and I urge the other authorities and the nations of the world of Islam and the free people of the world as well as all international organizations not to keep silent about these crimes, desecrations and sinister and dangerous plots and to utilize all of their capacities and capabilities to prevent these sinister and dangerous Zionist plots, “For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower”.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    (me):
May God end oppression in all the world, and return Palestine to its rightful inhabitants. It must also be noted that we are 100% against such killings of people who were praying in a synagogue recently; this is not what God asks of anybody, and is most certainly to the contrary of the message delivered by the Mercy to Mankind (pbuh) .
May God save the mosque from the Zionists destroying it, and free the oppressed of the world from the oppressors.

h_al_s reacted to notme in Jersusalem: Synagogue Attack
This is true, but it doesn't make the actions of the attackers right.  Humans are imperfect creatures, opportunistic and fearful.  Would it have been right to try every Nazi supporter for war crimes after WWII?  That would have been almost every German and a whole heck of a lot of other Europeans.  Would it have been right to accuse everyone who was afraid to fight against Yazid of opposing Imam Hussein?  Wouldn't that have been hundreds of thousands of people, everyone who knew of Yazid, with the exception of a few and including most "shia" of the day?  Life is complicated, and we don't entirely have control over our own situations and have to choose our actions carefully.  A person who might risk their own life for justice might be reluctant to risk the lives of their family and loved ones.  Which is why we can't say it is ok to murder any person unless we fully understand their lives, histories, and motivations, and the life, history, and motivation of the murderer.

I'm not saying acts of desperation aren't understandable.  I'm just saying murder is murder.  War involves military personnel, fighters, politicians, maybe spies sometimes, but not religious leaders or other civilians, no matter their political views.  What would help the Palestinian cause would be for their leadership to condemn murder and encourage rebellion either in civil ways or by striking against military or political targets.  The media can slant things however they choose, but if they aren't given any ammunition, they tend to get caught when they outright lie.

My government (United States) is pretty oppressive and has committed plenty of crimes against other nations and against humanity.  Does that mean it's justified to come to my home, workplace, or place of worship and kill me?

    اسلام پرچمدار كتابخوانی است
Islam places high priority on reading and writing and Iran as the flag bearer of Islamic thought and as a place where Islam rules should be the most prominent of all the other countries of the world in regards with reading and publication of books as well as book reviews. In order to reach this goal, books and reading should receive 10 times more attention than what it gets today and get promoted and disseminated.
The Prophet of Islam (pbuh) and the infallible Imams (pbut) and religious leaders of Islam have played an important role to push the societies towards the book reading culture. Those who are critical to the Islamic Republic of Iran have not paid attention to the era where Islam was a pioneer in science and knowledge and Islamic books of Iranian scholars were being used in all corners of the globe. Iran is determined to give birth to the same culture and civilization for another time. Ayatollah Khamenei, 10/22/1996
