    Honestly I don't see why
    This is because such a notion is a feable way on man's sexual desires and lusts. It is a worldy thing and the reality is heaven is beyond this material world. We cannot comprehend heaven or fathom what is it in, so the quran quantifies it in a human way.

    Firstly there aren't even "millions" of Iranians in the west to begin with. Second most of these irreligious diaspora Iranians are all Shahists/pahlavists. They just hate the Islamic Republic of Iran.

    I was basing my question on the video. Maybe because as 'backwardsforever' mentioned they have been influenced by salafism, although that in itself would not make them ignorant.

    This video really sums up the failed policy of Iran about Palestine. Iran used Palestinian conflict to make it's image more legitimate among muslim world and gain support. To achieve this, Iran aided Hamas terrorists, and anti-Shia Palestinians with the hard earned money of millions of Shia Iranians. The result? Nothing. Absolute nothing. Nothing resolved between Israelis & Palestinians, nothing improved. In fact, this made things more complex.
    Why these people don't voice their hatred to petrodollar rich Arabian gulf countries? No, you can't hear that from them, because they are sunni, plus they are Arabs, they are the same kin. But, they'll spew their hatred on Shias and Iran instead.
    Why bother then? I first care about Shias. Shias first.

    In general, in the Levant, people don't have much exposure to Shiism. They see Shi`as as a strange and foreign type of Muslim that they don't quite understand. Of course, there are exceptions, but a Palestinian living in Ramallah or a Syrian living in Aleppo has very little exposure to Shiism. Electricity is a luxury, let alone high speed internet access. Not to mention all the negative propaganda they hear on the pulpits.

    My wife is half-Palestinian who grew up in Jordan. She tells me that in 'Islam' class they don't teach you history or sectarian differences (i.e Shia are not mentioned). Mostly its just how to pray, how to fast, a quick tour on the life of the Prophet (pbuh), and basically learning Suras and reading Quran.
    One has to assume therefore, that thier knowledge of Shia is limited to hearsay, and I think we can agree that Sunni hearsay about Shia always involves a) worshipping Imam Ali, b) some Jewish connection, and c) hating Sahaba.
    So I dont blame these people and it doesn't stop my solidarity with them.

    Since I can remember, that I think is 4 years old, at least that's what scientists say, that human beings start to remember at 4 years old, I always felt that there was something else in the world, I don't know how describe it, but I felt the urgency of pursuing something beyond this world. After some time my parents told me about God.
    First I was an enemy of God, and after some time I become a christian, catholic if I want to be precise, and it was in such way my faith, I believed so much, and the miracles I had and the out of this world experiences, made me pursue this path much more, and God became the center of my life.
    And as christians say I became a passionate for God, and I felt I learnt many things. I said and sweared that I'd never leave him, that I never stop believing in him.
    All religions were the wrong path for me except this one. I used to be so sure that I was lead to the right path...
    And now I'm muslim...
    I know this doesn't answer your question, but I want to share this story.

    humanbeing101 reacted to Ali.Isa in What does this quote from Imam Ali(AS) mean?
    I did not mean directly that it is fabricated, what i meant with my post that these ahadith in form of a picture is available in social media, like the links you put forward without its original source mentioned. Usually people maybe do not think twice before sharing such images, we should stop sharing such images. And you mentioned fabrication, yes i can consider this english sentence as fake and not an actual translation of an hadith from an institution. There is also no source to be encouraged to track it down.
    IF IT IS A HADITH:
    I do not feel that i have-in this case you - the obligation to understand such sensible hadith without the arabic content. We can not properly discuss so the hadith guide us to strait path [and we can use it in living life] and be able to understand because it is not an infallible sentence. It is weird that a scholar publish in social media a hadith without source and it get likes 'nd shares without him even explaining it! If it has no source after a while people will forget its source, or even forget that it is a hadith, i have seen some ahadith in social media in english but without even the name of the Imam that has said it. So people think some old geek in old times said this classical 'quote' and it is our heritage it is not infallible word while we should make a clear identification between words some professors or scientists say compared to what Ahl al Bait Peace upon Them say.
    I would like to take the time and opportunity to introduce a hadith book named: [معجم الاحادیث المعتبره] it has been out now a few years. It is a book of all valid/authentic shia hadith collected under one title in 8 volumes that includes 11523 ahadith.

    Assalam.
    About the Aqeeq ring it's not about any scholar, it's about Rasulallah saww lifestyle and his advice, you can find a source about this topic in HeklyatolMotaqeen Book, الحلیة المتقین
    About the chain it depends on its look and materials.
    Diamond idk it has any issue but gold yes, it's haram to wear because it will effect your blood pressure and the heart, this is what I've read as I can remember.
    At the end ask your marja'a, a few of them has different Fatawa about chain and gold.
    wassalam.

    humanbeing101 got a reaction from Hayy ibn Yaqzan in When does the line end of being muslim?
    I think if someone rejects Islam in terms of actually declaring "I'm not a muslim and don't believe in the 5 pillars of islam". Then at that point it is fair to call that person a non-muslim.

    Not exactly what was asked, but as noted in previous posts, another direction from which to approach truth;

    Hypothetically, if life turned out to be inconsequential, you may at least give yourself the best experience of it by practising Islam, and looking up to the most wholesome and humane role models; the Ahlul Bayt.
    And by joining in with the most resilient, varying, rewarding and community-strengthening Role-Play known to history.
    If not for truth, then for love, or for freedom, or for journeys, or for wisdom, or for justice-
    Always be returning to the concept of Allah, and always be looking up to those who lived on earth and endorsed him in every single action.
    The more I dwell on OP's question, the more it seems it is not about Sunni and Shia,
    and the more it feels like poetry.

    Yes but once again he never mentioned caliphate and is clearly from the Shia perspective referencing 'wilayat al faqih'. You see you cannot directly prove from the Quran any mention of a 'caliphate' political system as doctrinal.

    @HumanForLife
    You are assuming that is actually scientifically possible from a practical standpoint. Theoretically it might be.
    Aging being a disease or illness or fault in our genes is simply a viewpoint and perspective, it doesn't actually reflect scientific reality. Attempting to decode the "aging gene" and tampering with it artificially in order to achieve longer life is an un-natural act.
    Well then by your definition here, this is technically speaking not "immortality" but living a few more hundred years. The Prophet Noah(AS) lived some 900+ years, the Prophet Adam(AS) also had similar lifespan.
    However you said it yourself there is always a possibility of dying by un-natural causes. Second what has been negated here is the end of our galaxy and the end of our universe. When our galaxy dies, we die. Let us say we are able to escape our galaxy hypothetically, when our universe dies we also die. My point being immortality is not possible in this material world.
    Let us refer to the Holy Quran:

    I'm having nightmares of all the millions of poor lab-mice, tortured needlessly in the name of Aubrey de Grey.

    Life is only important if it's human life - is the profound implication in this terrifying vision of the future;
    because the cost of biological immortality, is the biology we can manipulate, to test our proud theories.
    Human life is only valuable if it is productive, entertaining and of material benefit - is an inevitable outcome;
    because self-development, learning and achieving insight is hard, compared to the quick-fix of mis-using gifts from generations gone - who expected us to think long.

    No matter how rosy it gets spun to you, about how the ends justify the means;
    Know that the human condition, is still the human condition - and it will always hunger for more. (especially the more you give it).
    The more it can reach and grasp as a society, the more it will swallow and consume.
    Except for that wise men, prophets and guides were blessed with insight, and showed us that we can be content and whole and happy without needing ever-more;
    If only we listened.
    If only we remembered.

    This late night beatnik blowback was brought to you by four cups of Chai and a long walk home.
