  2. And to the indian's surprise.. Pakistan wins the U-19 world cup... who cares about the 'hutch cup' when you can get the WORLD CUP ;)
  3. India loses 6 wickets for 9 runs against Pakistan!! .. under-19 world cup :)
  4. Reviving the dead thread :) Fouth ODI Indians must be so happy to take something that has 'Made in Pakistan' on it ;)
  5. (salam) LOSERS... BOTH of them... third world countries ;) For those who are interested in watching more... First ODI Second ODI Third ODI (only indians batting) Third ODI (Analysis) Enjoy !!
  6. (salam) 009.101 YUSUFALI: Certain of the desert Arabs round about you are hypocrites, as well as (desert Arabs) among the Medina folk: they are obstinate in hypocrisy: thou knowest them not: We know them: twice shall We punish them: and in addition shall they be sent to a grievous penalty. Would have been easier if Allah(swt) mentioned their names... nonetheless 'hypocrisy' is only done when a person shows something and is something completely different. She rebelled against the ulul-amr of her time.. but that aside 066.003 YUSUFALI: When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to on
  7. wa 3laikum assalaam Same as Hadrat Ali(as)... 63 yrs old when he was martyred... wassalaamun alaikum
  8. wa 3laikum assalaam Arabic numerals :)... the inverted V is the 8 in arabic.. wassalaamun alaikum
  9. (salam) JazaakAllah for clearing out the sahih hadith issue... about 33:33.. shi3a have the long version of the haidth-e-Kisa which they depend on to interpret the verse.. wassalaamun alaikum
  10. (salam) Can you please give me a web reference to this.. I can't seem to find it online.. if its true then I would like to see it :).. wassalaamun alaikum
  11. (salam) I heard once that Ayesha didn't know about Hadrat Fatima(as) 'reconciliation' with Abu Bakr and thats why she narrated that Bibi Fatima(as) died while angry with Abu Bakr... thats a mistake on Ayesha's part right.. I mean.. invalid narration or 'unintentional mistake'.. but still its part of the saheeh... so what is the criteria that the sunni use to reject this narration as invalid? Don't saheehs have a higher ranking than mutawatir ahadith?.. I heard they do... we are talking about the sahih bukhari Alright.. I wasn't aware of this.. but the narrators in the chain could have made
  12. (salam) I think I didn't clarify myself enough.. what I really meant is that IF there were problems with the NARRATORS i.e. the sahaba causing 'unintentional mistakes'... why would you believe in even a sahih hadith?.. I mean.. you could be following a sahih hadith but there could be an 'unintentional mistake' in it caused by one of the sahabas.. no offence to anyone ofcourse :)... wassalaamun alaikum
  13. (salam) (carried over from another thread from brother newnew) So there are indeed hadith in the saheeh that are 'invalid' due to the possibility of 'unintentional mistakes'.. IF this is so... what is the criteria of accepting hadith and rejecting them?... I mean.. if you pick a hadith from the saheehs... how sure can you be of its validily and why would you be sure of it if you don't know if there is an 'unintentional mistake' in it or not?.. wassalaamun alaikum
  14. (salam) It won't be called 'Saheeh' if sunni ulema thought that there were ahadith in it that were false or fabricated... As far as one can interpret... Bhukhari's whole idea was to find all the ahadith which are authentic by sunni standards... in other words... I don't think the sunni ulema can deny a single hadith from the shaheeh books.. wassalaamun alaikum
  15. (salam) If you read your sentence again sister capri.. you would understand why your analysis is incorrect.. see.. the translation of the hadith that you quoted is given by sister zainabia as "Whoever I am the leader (Mawla) of, Ali is his leader (Mawla)". Now.. if a person accepts the Prophet(saww) as their leader.. Hadrat Ali(as) automatically becomes their leader.. doesn't matter if they accept Hadrat Ali(as) as their leader or not.. read the translation again and you will understand.. wassalaamun alaikum
  16. wa 3laikum assalaam bro Khurram Yes.. I heard sunnies have this notion that whatever Allah(swt) does is good.. whereas the shi3a believe that Allah(swt) only does good... doesn't mean Allah(swt) cannot do bad.. but just that He would not go against His own principles.. I hope you understand what I mean.. but by Adal I kinda meant that Allah(swt) is good... no one claims that Allah(swt) is evil na3udubillah. Prophets and imaams can be summed up as representatives of Allah(swt).. I wanted to know if you can come up with the idea all by yourself... without the means of the Quran.. I mean.. can
  17. (salam) Volume 6, Book 60, Number 367: Narrated Habib bin Abi Thabit: I went to Abu Wail to ask him (about those who had rebelled against 'Ali). On that Abu Wail said, "We were at Siffin (a city on the bank of the Euphrates, the place where me battle took place between 'Ali and Muawiya) A man said, "Will you be on the side of those who are called to consult Allah's Book (to settle the dispute)?" 'Ali said, 'Yes (I agree that we should settle the matter in the light of the Qur'an)." ' Some people objected to 'Ali's agreement and wanted to fight. On that Sahl bin Hunaif said, 'Blame yourselve
  18. (salam) Is this the official view?.. I have never heard it before but it sure makes sense :) Thank you brother.. I know that there are many religions that believe in the first four (i.e. Tawheed, Adal, and the Representatives)... but lack the last one... so I feel it is possible that we can arrive at these concepts with logic... just wanted other opinions... wassalaamun alaikum
  19. (salam) Just realized that I didn't indicate the Usuul-e-Deen.. even though most know them.. I just want it to be out there Usuul-e-Deen: Tawheed (Oneness of Allah(swt)) Adal (Allah(swt) is Just) Nabuwat (Representatives of Allah(swt)) Imammat (Representatives of Prophets) Qayamat (Day of Judgement) I bolded a few words because I feel that a person can come to agree on these terms using logic... wassalaamun alaikum
  20. (salam) This is an issue that most people target when they are discussing Usuul-e-Deen.. I wanted to know the shi3a point of view in this matter but if there are any sunnies present here... they can take part as well... wassalaamun alaikum
  21. (salam) Just like Hadrat Haruun(as) kept his patience (for the sake of unity) when the Bani Israel deviated... undermined his authority.. and took Samiri as their leader... wassalaamun alaikum
  22. (salam) 3atiullaha wa 3atiurrasuul wa ulil amre minkum (Obey Allah(swt) and obey the Prophet(saww) and those who posses authority among you) 5:55 Only Allah is your Vali and His Messenger and those who believe, those who keep up prayers and pay the poor-rate while they bow. I would prefer them over any other after the Prophet(saww) because of iyah 33:33 "Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! and to purify you a (thorough) purifying." The Quran also doesn't say that 'the oldest is the wisest and the most fit to follow'.. if you wanna follow someone
  23. (salam) I have never heard of Hadrat Ali(as) denying to be the first imam Shi3a belief is that an imam does not work for his own advantage.. his sole purpose is to see whats best for the ummah and Islam.. if its best to say quiet.. then thats the way to go.. if the best course of action is to fight.. then so be it.. wassalaamun alaikum
  24. Wa 3alaikum Assalaam Reward??.. can you elaborate on it please.. if you can also post a hadith where the Prophet(saww) did wudu when he was already in a state of wudu as it is likely that it would be considered 'bida3' if it isn't in the hadith books. My understanding was that if a person is in the state of wudu.. he/she wouldn't have to do the wudu again. The concern that I raised in the interpretation was that if 'washing' of feet is justifiable... then why should the shoes be 'wipped'... they must be washed as well. True.. doesn't take long to remove them.. plus its just utter disrespect
  25. Wa 3laikum assalaam I have seen some sunnis wipe on their shoe... if it was washing... why don't they wash their shoes??.. I have seen the hadith in a sahih book as well about prayering with the shoes on... its quite astonishing... no offence to anyone.. wassalaamun alaikum
