  1. (salam) Inaugural address of the First caliph. On assuming office, he delivered the following address, which is a unique document for the guidance of all rulers "Gentlemen, I have been placed in authority, though by Allah I was averse to the assumption of authority. I would have been pleased if any of you had taken over the office, and I would have assisted him. I have been made to rule over you though I am not the most worthy among you. If you expect me to act as did the Holy Prophet of God, know that I cannot do so, for the Apostle of God was a servant whom the Lord honored with His inspir

  4. (salam) sister ailia Did Ayesha really curse ibn muljim(LA) or did you add it on.. if not.. then there is no indication in the hadith that she hated ibn muljim(LA).. don't like her anyway though.. she rebelled against the 'Ulil Amr' of her time and spoke ill of Bibi Khadejah(ra) to the point that she sounded arrogant... even Allah (swt)'s high priest was not forgiven for arrogance.. she was only a misguided human being Wassalaam (Peace be upon you)
  5. (salam) beeru Do you know the number of slaves that the Prophet (saww&HP) had?.. are there any that you can name? (not the ones that he freed, the ones that he kept).. plus it is known that he use to live humbly... how then would he be able to afford slaves?.. and I think in the hadith that you are quoting from about Saiyadaneh Fatimah (ra) asking for a slave.. the Prophet (saww&HP) didn't aprove of it. Its still a practice in saudi arabia, egypt and some other muslim african countries. Wassalaam (Peace be upon you)
  6. (salam) bro delight Dulfiqar was also used in Khandak and Khaiber.. which occured before the departure of the Prophet (saww&HP) Wassalaam (Peace be upon you)
  7. (salam) bro Patience Allah (swt) commanded us in the Quran not to take a non-Muslim as a leader and since Hadrat Ali(as) chose to be silent during the two caliphates.. he obviously did not consider the two as non-Muslims. Also try Status of the three caliphs from the Aalim Network Here Brother Bashir Rahim states that "... No one, and I repeat no one, has the right to treat any of them as non-Muslims..." Wassalaam (Peace be upon you)
  8. (salam) bro fazal abbas rejection here would mean "not believing in Allah (swt) and the Prophet (saww&HP)"... shia3 do say that umar went against the wishes of the Prophet (saww&HP) but he was not an outright kaffir Wassalaam (Peace be upon you)
  9. ^ followup (salam) Also provide references where shia3 say that Umar rejected Allah(swt) and the Prophet (saww&HP). Wassalaam (Peace be upon you)
  10. (salam) bro taha.. I didn't say Umar's speech is bad or anything.. its just that I don't like him because he disobeyed the Prophet (saww&HP) on his deathbed and called him whatever he did.. even from a sunni point of view.. he should had been considered wajibul-qatl
  11. Thanks brother link.. frankly speaking.. I don't like the 2nd at all.. Abu bakr seems alright.. but thanks for the sermon :)
  12. Oh.. Error free?.. I meant infallible.. the Hadrat Abu bakr made a clear distinction between the Prophet (saww&HP).. himself.. the people Guess I am just being biased but its there And whats up with the sunni sites not posting any sermons of Hadrat Ali(as)??.. the 3rd is not there at all.. anyone find a sermon for the 3rd?
  13. (salam) Thanks.. I got three of them here as well.. from the 1st caliph Sermons of the 1st caliph Something I foung interesting though is in this first one... Inaugural address. 17. (salam) Now if any one can tell us all of the circumstances and by whome was this noble lady introduced to Imam Ali[ra]?. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiyyah was Amir al-mu'minin's son but called Ibn Hanafiyyah after his mother. His mother's name was Khawlah bint Ja`far. She was known as Hanafiyyah after her tribe Banu Hanifah. When people of Yamamah were declared apostates for refusing to pay zakat (religious tax) and were killed and their women-folk were brought to Medina as slave girls, this lady also came to Medina with them. When her tribesmen came to know it they ap
  18. Where is Zaid from again?? Yup.. Qualities of a leader from the Quran... highly knowledgable and most brave (Read the story of Hadrat Talut(as) in sura Al-Baqra).. Guess who had both these qualities in the ummah of that time!! I don't think the Prophet(saww&HP) could not have used the word Imam simply because it has been used for Prophet Ibrahim in the Quran.. maybe something else.. any suggestions?? Could that be also translated as ... "Allah is the LEADER of those who believe"?? Try this from Yusuf Ali: 57.15: So today no rasom should be accepted from you or from those who are kafir.
  19. (salam) Yes.. Hadrat Ali(as) SHOULD have been.. shia3 do say that Okay.. :) And what 'duties' might those be? Okay.. that takes care of The people who fought against Hadrat Ali(as) in Jamal, Sifeen, and Nahrawan. You have got to be kidding me.. you are saying that after right before the Prophet (saww&HP) was going to die.. he would stand up.. call upon the people... deliever a leanthy sermon and just tell the muslims to "love and have close relationship" to Hadrat Ali(as)? EVEN if he meant that... wouldn't that suggest that the muslims didn't "love and had close relationship" to Had
  20. (salam) Think all of it.. can't find any references.. do you have any? Nope.. my apologies brother sayed zeeshan.. you can go ahead and clarify that. Wassalaam (Peace be upon you)
  21. (salam) I have been trying to find any khutbas of the first three caliphs but with no success.. I know the first gave one but I don't know where it is and what it was about.. does anyone have any links to where I might be able to find these khutbas? Wassalaam (Peace be upon all)
  22. In regards to Land DURING his caliphate?.. no role that I am aware of... empires?.. none that I can think of :) Wassalaam (Peace be upon you all)
  23. (salam) Link: Life of Hadrat Ali (as) Wassalaam (Peace be upon you all)
  24. Wa 3alikum Assalaam B mobeen Yes.. you are correct in saying the battles led to fatah mecca.. but by the way you were previously conducting the discussion.. I got the idea that you were more concerned with islamic religious personalities conquering LAND by spreading violence instead of spreading the message of 'Peace' which islam propagates in actuality. I fail to understand why would you concern yourself with how much LAND a person gained at all? The Prophet (saww&HP) is NOT known for gaining LAND.. he is known for spreading islam in the most compasionate way imaginable :) Wassalaam (P
  25. (salam) brother mobeen The Prophet (saww&HP) didn't fight at mecca :).. Again.. he only used his sword for the protection of the religion and NOT expansion of land. Wassalaam (Peace be upon you)
