  1. (salam) Can't argue with that then.. can you give me a link for that or is it from a book? Then what was the purpose of Hadrat Lut(as)? Two leaders of the ummah of Hadrat Lut(as) at the same time??.. and imam of ALL people AFTER HIM??.. hmm... could that be possible?.. a little skeptical here :).. wassalaamun alaikum
  2. Wa 3laikum Assalaam Thats true.. me neither :) 058.011 SHAKIR: O you who believe! when it is said to you, Make room in (your) assemblies, then make ample room, Allah will give you ample, and when it is said: Rise up, then rise up. Allah will exalt those of you who believe, and those who are given knowledge, in high degrees; and Allah is Aware of what you do. I was just answering your question about the na'ibs You said the the na'ibs should have been infallibles... but that would increase the number of quraishi leaders from 12 to 16... its the way marjaiyat started... marja3 can't all be in
  3. Wa 3laikum Assalaam Yes I don't believe we have many of the Sha3fi sunni here on the forum... you presence will be enlightening :)... wassalaamun alaikum
  4. Wa 3laikum Assalaam Interesting contradiction... conflicting ahadith.. easiest way for me is to ask my marja3 i guess.. the ahadith are way too many to analyze :) There is famous incident that I use to hear when I was little... one of the companions of Hadrat Sulaimaan(as) brought the throne of a queen (bilqees was it??) in a second from a far away land and he was granted only a minute knowledge of the Quran... so which of us claim to know the Quran to its full extent... if one does... would you consider him less then a prophet??... the one who will have knowledge of all things... there is a
  5. (salam) I would pick inherit.. I also would like to hear how the ulemas justify their views if what you say about their statements is true Knew you were going to ask me that :).. no offence.. I am not claiming to be a precog ^_^ Allah(swt) gave knowledge to every Prophet(as) but gave the Prophet(saww) the most... its the amount of true knowledge that matters... not where it is coming from... even if I am wrong in the last statement.. I can still argue that Imams(as) indirectly inherited the most amount of knowledge from Allah(swt) since all knowledge comes from and due to AllahÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇá
  6. (salam) Inheritors of the greatest KNOWLEDGE... which prevents them from committing sins and raises them higher in taqwa. Furthermore.. I have heard that the hadith that this notion of Imams(as)-greater-than-Prophets(as) is based on does not include Hadrat Ibrahim(as) or the Prohpet(saww) and some other Prophets(as) as well... the ones that are lower in status are named The Prophets(as) get their knowledge directly from Allah(swt)... they don't inherit it... I could be wrong.. wassalaamun alaikum
  7. (salam) It can be "very true" indeed :) However.. I can't accept the idea of 'Hasbuna Kitaabullah'... it just kills the whole purpose of 'sunnah'... try naming it 'Quranism'.. see the controversy here??... no offence intended... wassalaamun alaikum
  8. (salam) There are those in it who seek guidance... and those that don't. I believe that the sunnis went wrong the moment they accepted Abu bakr as the caliph... none was better suited for leadership after Hadrat Musa(as) than Hadrat Haruun(as)... the basis that created sunnism is considered flawed.. the rest just developed on it... wassalaamun alaikum
  9. (salam) Eid mubarak to you all.. hope all of you who celebrated today had fun mashaAllah and those who will be celebrating tomorrow will have fun inshaAllah ^_^ :D.. wassalaamun alaikum
  10. (salam) My bad.. didn't explain it clearly.. see.. fathers work hard to earn a living... they want it to continue... need sons to support them in old age.. 'make them proud'.. that whole bit... to do this.. sons need to inherit the wealth/money... it won't make sense for the father to give it all away and ask the son to start something on his own in order to support his parents... prophets needing support from their children... see it now :)... wassalaamun alaikum
  11. Wa 3laikum Assalaam Isn't it the Sunni point of view that the Prophets(as) were like us??.. He can be allowed to have a son who he wants to inherit his property to.. keep his legacy/hard work alive.. whatever a father desires for his son... or did he desired a son who would inherit his knowledge and suffer like him through the hands of an ummah (I am only trying to approach this from a sunni point of view) Books and gardens are both material things.. plus.. whats with the inheritance of knowledge... aren't the people suppose to inherit the knowledge and not just this one son that Hadrat Za
  12. (salam) Inheritance of Prophet Yahya(as) from Prophet Zakariya(as) 019.006 YUSUFALI: "(One that) will (truly) represent me (???), and represent (???)the posterity of Jacob; and make him, O my Lord! one with whom Thou art well-pleased!" PICKTHAL: Who shall inherit of me and inherit (also) of the house of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, acceptable (unto Thee). SHAKIR: Who should inherit me and inherit from the children of Yaqoub, and make him, my Lord, one in whom Thou art well pleased. 019.007 YUSUFALI: (His prayer was answered): "O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: His name shall
  13. Wa 3laikum Assalaam Like this 005.006 YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water); and (wash) your feet to the ankles. If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity, bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to compl
  14. Wa 3laikum assalaam Isn't this enough for their followers to kill them?? I have never come across these quotes.. you should continue.. I want to know more about what our ulema think of the Sunnies and which ulemas are these... wassalaamun alaikum
  15. (salam) 003.159 PICKTHAL: It was by the mercy of Allah that thou wast lenient with them (O Muhammad), for if thou hadst been stern and fierce of heart they would have dispersed from round about thee. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult with them upon the conduct of affairs. And when thou art resolved, then put thy trust in Allah. Lo! Allah loveth those who put their trust (in Him). 009.114 YUSUFALI: And Abraham prayed for his father's forgiveness only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah, he dissociated hi
  16. Wa 3laikum Assalaam The ACT of SURRENDERING indicates free will... a person can CHOOSE to submit or not to submit.. Allah(swt) has left that CHOICE for US.. think thats free will as I understand it... as for Allah(swt) knowing everything.. I think that means that Allah(swt) knows all the probabilities that will happen next and He knows which action is the most probable... and which one is the least... wassalaamun alaikum
  17. (salam) Hard to believe that we are mere 'Atomatons' in a 'Brave New World'... wassalaamun alaikum
  18. Wa 3laikum Assalaam There are other verses like this that are explained more explicitly later on in the surah or in the quran... one of them is.. 007.178 YUSUFALI: Whom Allah doth guide,- he is on the right path: whom He rejects from His guidance,- such are the persons who perish. then you will have this.. 002.258 YUSUFALI: Hast thou not Turned thy vision to one who disputed with Abraham About his Lord, because Allah had granted him power? Abraham said: "My Lord is He Who Giveth life and death." He said: "I give life and death". Said Abraham: "But it is Allah that causeth the sun to rise f
  19. Wa 3laikum Assalaam So a person who died as a non-muslim should not be punished because it wasn't his fault that he didn't turn a believer... it was his 'taqdir'?? Wa 3laikum Assalaam
  20. (salam) She was the first to cause a major fitna in the muslim ummah... this gave others reason enough to do similar actions against their leaders.. since a person who lived with the Prophet(saww) for so long couldn't refrain herself from rebelling... the others [who weren't even close to that status with the Prophet(saww)] got plenty to justify rebellious behaviour against their leaders. Isn't it true that in the above stated situation.. the Prophet(saww) himself didn't speak up in her support Allah(swt) did scold Ayesha and Hafsa for their lousy behaviour with the Prophet(saww)... wassala
  21. (salam) http://www.shiachat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=51007&hl= Hope this is enough... wassalaamun alaikum
  22. Wa 3laikum Assalaam Key word is prophets... Hadrat Adam(as) wasn't a prophet in jannah... there is an iyah which states that Allah(swt) is going to send a 'leader on earth'.. any leader that is appointed by Allah(swt) on people has to be given enough knowledge not to commit any mistakes in front of his people.. and thats what makes the prophet 'faultless'.. wassalaamun alaikum
  23. (salam) I like religious debates.. but you gotta know your stuff before you can understand them.. wassalaamun alaikum
  24. (salam) Greatest knowledge among people is one of the qualities that is used to appoint a leader.. wassalaamun alaikum
  25. (salam) The 313 companions will be the leaders of Imam Ali Mahdi's army, his highest ranking generals who will lead the rest of his troops... wassalaamun alaikum
