Gypsy got a reaction from JasmineAila in Please Sisters only- how to overcome the fear of marriage. is it okay not to marry at all?
You are perfectly justified to feel the way you do. Many men take women for granted, especially Muslim men. They see women as housewife, mother, servent or a cheap labor (nanny, housekeeper, care taker for the in laws).
to avoid being taken for granted, you should be educated, have a job and never give up your freedom to become his 'side-kick'. You should pursue your dream and interest.
It's not impossible to find a man that can support you in life but its very hard.

Superiority complex. People cant let go of their culture and values hence need to somehow rationalize that they are correct about their own worth and self -importance. This is not one sided. Even westerner think their culture, religion and way of life is superior. But they dont need to talk about it since they are free to live the life the way they want it here in the west.

I don't believe in the juice diet. You'll probably get high on fruit sugar.
Have you tried the water diet? I did for half a day and gave up. It's tough and challenging. I think the key is to eat nutritious meals in small portions

First step is to be independent, having your own job, money and bank account. Second step is to figure out how the children will be taken care off if you divorce him. If he's good with kids then joint custody would not hurt. If you know for sure that this marriage is not workable then you dont really need to be stuck to that man for life. Every minute and hours you take care of him is a wasted life.
since hes not a muslim then divorce should be pretty easy, you go to a civil court since marriage between a muslim woman and no muslim man is not rcognizable anyway.

Yes, Abu Bakar and Umar forbid the writing of Hadith or anyone relaying the hadith. They didn’t want Hadith about the ahlul Bayt talked openly. Their intention was to let people forget historical event and the excellence of Ahlul bayt so they can keep the Caliphate with them without objections. For them Al-Quran was enough for the people because they thought Al-Quran didnt talk openly or extensively about Ali, and Prophet Ahlul Bayt. Actually only those who is very well acquainted with the holy book will find the excellence of our Masumeen.

In the time of Imam Ali(as) he started teaching people the true knowledge of Prophet and his Sunnah. People started to write, memorize and learn about Al-Islam. His teaching was spread everywhere.

When Muawiyah came to power, he started his publishing business to turn back Muslims into non-believer. He paid ppl to relate hadith that try to shadow the Ahlul Bayt, improve Abu bakar, umar and uthman because Muawiyyah knew that if he can legitimize these 3 people ruling ..It would be easy for him to legitimize his ruling and his clans ruling. And the confusions started ..Islam started to break into pieces …people no longer remember how Prophet used to pray …Muawiiyah had people wrote hundreds of false hadith so people will be busy contradicting themselves and no one will remember what Islam is.

Muawiyyah wanted to erase Islam from the face of Earth. The only people who could stand against Muawiyyah and Umamyad were our Imam and their truthful companions. They kept Prophet teaching alive.

You don't have to take a certain special boy to become a 'brother' so you can talk freely. If someone becomes so special that I have to constantly talk and see them on skype then that person is most certainly not a brother.
Women love to be praised and most men know that. Avoid men who constantly flatter you for no good reason. He's either very attracted to you or wants to attract you to him. It's best to avoid such distraction especially when you are pursuing your education.

Marrying someone for charity doesn't work. Marriages need a solid foundation and the two people need to be mature and likes each other enough to start a relationship that has the potential to produce a. New life.
Girls after going through wars and so much violence don't need to be married off. They need to go to school, acquire employable skills and find a new place to began life.
the reason they are getting multiple short term offer for marriages is because these women are very desperate and they are being preyed upon

Muslim men are fat too. Have you checked out all the uncles in the community?
Women have severe issues that hold them back from exercise
    - Too many religious fatwa on dress code,  female only gym, types of exercise permissible and non permissible
    - Culture that look down on female pursuing outside activity: be it work, joining a gym, club
    - Thirdly not enough knowledge/information about diet and exercise.
    - fourthly, getting pregnant and deleviring  babies can wreck havoc on your bodies. Luckily men don't have to deal with all that.

I couldn't write anything in previous reply. @Akbar673 why is that? Posters in this thread said they were able to get islamic divorce easily. Do Shias in Chicago follow different version of Islam? Anyway illinois has no fault divorce law. If one person wants divorce, he/she can get divorce. No need to prove anything and no counseling. I got my civil divorce for $2,500.

Gypsy got a reaction from starlight in Prophet Died On Ayesha's Lap?
    (salam)
In the Sunni hadith book, there are hadith that mentions Prophet wives can be heard crying from behind the screen. I am not sure that Ayesha was mingling with the men while the Prophet was alive. There was already a Quranic injuctions that the wives of Prophet need to be behind the screen.
And let's face it. Ayesha is not the most honest person that you can believe whatever she says. This is not the first time she made up story to leave Imam Ali out from the narration.
Look in the Sunni hadith book about the last day of Prophet life. Ayesha did not mentioned the fact that Ali(as) was the one who helped taking the Prophet to the mosque. It was Ibn Abbas who mentioned Ayesha had a deep hatred towards Ali, that she (Ayesha) refused to mentioned his name.

We waited about ten years before having our child, so we can give good stuff to our children. I don't think you should hurry into having baby with your husband especially that the marriage is not going as smoothly as expected. There's serious issue of trust between the two f you and you should work on that first. He's from. Different culture, and trust me that Iraqi culture actually promote the manner in which your husband is behaving towards you especially infornt of his family.

I have a little daughter and I am going to adopt another daughter inshaallah. I am against the policye encouraging ppl to have many children because I believe that the world is already overpopulated and there aren't enough sources and the environment is being polluted and destroyed increasingly and moreover there is much corruption and cruelty in this world so why bringing innocent children to this dark hell? However I believe tgat to have only one child is not a good idea because she will be alone. So it is better to have two kids or no kids but not one kid.

They can see. Just they don't think it means as much as we think it does. They are brainwashed to hold beliefs that are contradictory to the teaching of ahl al-bayt. And since they are the majority, they also think they are right because how can the majority be soo wrong.
