I am willing to relocate but I have been specific about where I will not relocate.
    1. Overseas
    2. New York

New York is an absolute cesspool. There is NO WAY I would even visit that place. When these brothers contacted me I made it clear that I would not move to NY and I totally understand them not wanting to live somewhere as slow as Alabama and would even be willing to relocate to another state besides NY with them.

UPDATE:   2 of my Facebook friends got married Friday. Nobody even knew they were talking.  After the nikah they went out and got matching zawj & zawjah t-shirts with their pictures on them.

UPDATE: The Iraqi brother didn't work out.  No reason. After a few days he just seemed disinterested.

And I wish people in New York would stop contacting me!
The Bosnian brother actually drove down here to Alabama to visit through all that snow last week. To make a long story short, he got sent on his way.   I don't have time for foolishness and fitna.

An Indian brother from NY contacted me on Shiamatch.com. We spoke on the phone but he was very hesitant to send me a photo. He claim he was a very "cautious" person.   I told him if he didn't send me a photo to dismiss himself and never contact me again.

An Egyptian brother from NY contacted me on Singlemuslim.com. Everything was smooth conversation wise until I asked him if he would be bothered by me having tattoos.  He tone totally changed and after about 30mins of hadiths & a brief history of how Egyptian spread the correct form of Islam all over the world it was clear that I was dismissed because of my ink. :shifty:

A friend of my friend from ATL who live in NY contacted me on Facebook to let me know that 3 brothers in NewYork were interested in me.  1 is a truckdriver who I have declined 50 million times.  The second brother was recently release from prison and living in a halfway house (DECLINE!). And the 3rd brother is currently a "student of knowledge" and he wanted to know would I be able to support him while he complete his studies. (wut?  )

I met a Jordanian brother in my city on Tinder.  We have met in person and have talked daily.  Please tell me why during our last conversation.....he told me he wasn't Muslim.
"Yeah, you know 30% of the population in Jordan is Christian."
I don't know who's the bigger dummy here. Me for assuming that a Jordanian Arab was Muslim or him for even bothering to talk to an OBVIOUS MUSLIM WOMAN.  When I say OBVIOUS it's OBVIOUS!  Abaya, check.  Hijab, check.  Gold ayat kursi necklace, check. Greeting you with As salaam alaikum and calling you "brother", check.

    UPDATE:

I don't think I've hit the level of being desperate yet. Desperate would be falling for one of those very attractive overseas brothers. It hasn't gotten that bad yet.   I think the "Muslim" sites aren't for me.  You have to be perfect or consider sponsoring a non-American to get a spouse on one of those sites, so I've decided to give a few of the secular sites a try as suggested.  There are 2 free ones, POF.com & OkCupid.com and the paid one is Match.com.  There are a lot more Muslims there than I thought.

So far I've only been contacted by 1 person, an Iraqi brother living in Atlanta.  I don't think this one will be as bad as the previous Iraqi brother. This brother is much younger (26) and my determining factor will be his residence status.  I did not ask him right away what type of visa he was here on.  He's not a student and he is working here.  He said he has been here for 1 year and he likes it and is never going back but he said his family hates it here. Once I get more details on that I will see were it goes.

Night_Inshallah got a reaction from dragonfly in What Is Your Daily Beauty Ritual?
Depends on what day it is.

Full body cleansing occurs daily with a Bath & Body Work or Victoria's Secret show gel.  I wash my hair either daily or every other day with OGX macadamia oil conditioner (no shampoo, conditioner only).  I keep my hair braided in small braids so I don't have to do anything besides pull it up in pony tail or bun under my hijab. I use a daily braid spray for my hair and scalp &  rebraid my hair every 2 months.  I know all these new fancy toothpastes are out but I like to use Closeup because the burning sensation feels good. I don't know why but the burning sensation makes me feel my teeth are extra clean. That along with daily flossing, mouthwash, and ever few days use hydrogen peroxide as a mouth wash to keep my teeth white and clean.

My skin gets really ashy so before I put on lotion I use a natural body oil that I make at home consisting of equal parts avocado, grapeseed, and apricot oils (can be purchased at any Whole Foods or natural food mart).   After that I use a B&BW/VS body butter (my skin is to dry for a lotion).  I use a B&BW/VS body spray or mist. I don't like perfumes, all of them are too loud smelling to me.

Biweekly I get a gel overlay on my nails. Sometimes I have the french look, sometimes I do polish. I do my own pedicure at home weekly or biweekly. I do it myself because I do it better.

I don't use any full face makeup.  I keep my skin clear with Clean & Clear acne wash and astringent. I use Garnier gel face cream in the day and at night use (i forgot the name) some kind of garnier night serum.  I don't wear lipstick. I like lip glosses.  Black eyeliner, mascara, and light eyeshadow.

I accept the daleel he presented.  But it won't change anything in my household. There is no way I would have enough energy or money to go all out for 2 Eids and then turn up for Xmas.  Plus my son's b-day is 10 days before Xmas.  I will still accepts gifts and eat with my family but there will be no Xmas tree in my living room.

Also I do not object to staying at home under certain conditions. I told this brother that if I start having babies it would be a no brainer to be a stay at home mom do to the costs of childcare.  Both of our children are school age so while he is at work and the kids are at school it would make sense for me to do something productive, like making some money. :)

Plus it would also depend on his earning level.  Me and this man make the same amount of money.  If I were to not work then I would be living a very frugal lifestyle.  Now don't take what I'm about to say the wrong way. I am not a flashy woman. I shop at thrift stores, cut coupons, 90% of the time do my own hair to save money. But I like to look nice and I like my child to look nice.  I know of Muslim men in my community from all backgrounds who are so TIGHT with money that their wife can't even get $5.00 in discretionary money.  If heard brother proclaim that there is a fatwa out there that says they only need to provide their wife with 1 garment per season.  I'm not going to live like a pauper.

    He's too far away.

UPDATE: After more talks......this ain't the one. We are on 2 very different levels. But I will use this thread for more updates.  I feel very positive that if I keep putting forth an effort into looking around a good brother will see me and be interested.

Another update:  Sunday, my friend tried to introduce me to a black brother from New York (strike 1, northerners who come down south are trouble).  He was not unattractive but he did send me a picture with his shirt off and I was not impressed (I've seen better). He then asked to see a picture of me without my garb on saying that he was "in the mood to enjoy the beauty of a woman".  NOOOOOOOOOOO SIR!!!!

I know an Imam that has made Hajj 3 times already and is talking about going AGAIN in 2016. I know they will only issue you a Hajj visa every 5 years. They need to limit it to 1 a lifetime.

I've never posted about people needing help but this sister is so sincere and she has not let her disability keep her down.   Sister Myrna aka "Princess Yara" is paralyzed and lives in a nursing home in Boca Raton, Florida. Because America healthcare for the disabled (Medicare) is garbage, she is unable to obtain a wheelchair in order to get outside her nursing home and enjoy life with her children.  She requires a specialized chair & portable ventilator that costs thousands and thousands of dollars.  Medicare will only contribute $2000.

Even if you don't have $1 to give, you can spread this message to others who might have $1.
