democracy means 'the rule of the people'. Nothing more. Minority protection is not a part of democracy but of modern neoliberal ideology. For a democracy to be successful the nation needs an educational system that is built to form he people into citizens. Citizens who have a duty and obligation to serve their nation & thereby the greater good as defined by the majority of the people. In the west this part of democracy has been drastically changed since the introduction of identity politics through specific minority 'rights' not available to the 'majority group'.
But a successful nation should as far as possible assimilate it's inhabitants into the national heritage & ideology with a culture of citizenship.

I'm convinced that Mr choudhary is a counter intelligence asset of the empire. He's the go-to-guy for the media to display to the public the barbarism of islam. Because if the salafi radicals preachers can be controlled (by bribery either directly or through gulf channels) it means the violent tendency of this death cult can be channelled to any adversary of the empire which is why they always show up arguing for war against the enemies of the empire but never for war against what the majority of sunni shi'i scholars agree to be unjust occupation & theft.
The more interesting question is how come the masses as well as those susceptible to this kind of preaching never sees through what is actually going on?

The powers that should not be have a vested interest in defining the outer boundaries of what is legitimate discourse and I believe Dr Noam Chomsky serves this purpose today.
Chomsky is todays intellectual giant, the most quoted intellectual today.

Israel wants exactly that: a middle-east divided among sectarian lines into small states led by religious fanatics that will be in hostile warfare with one another, according to the so called "Ginon plan" http://www.globalresearch.ca/greater-israel-the-zionist-plan-for-the-middle-east/5324815

I think there should eventually be a European Union like union between all middle-eastern states with free movement of people and money all across the region which will transform the place into a prosperous place

People are against it because the animal is slaughtered without first being severely drugged or shocked. The drugging of the animal before cutting its throat makes some westerners feel merciful & morally better than if theyd eaten meat slaughtered without painkillers. Then there's right wing opinion that has been 'warning' for years that the muslims intend to conquer Europe by political & cultural subversion thru' 'creeping shariah' where laws, customs & institutions are made to conform with shariah law by stealth & by simultaneously demographically outbreeding the natives. Up to 70% of europeans feel islam is a threat because of the thousand year long history of occasional warfare & because of the perception that is shaped by the actions of wahhabists/salafists. I think these halal controversies are an expression of the general fear of islam that is present.

In Europe many things are forbidden that are permitted in America. An example is genetically modified organisms which is great for american companies who get a "patent" for seeds with which they've tampered genetically & thus exthort fees for every new season. If i lived in America I'd make sure I only bought organically grown plants

Salam,It will be good for the economy because people with alot of cash will spend more if there are luxurious places to live and or luxurious products to shop. This in turn will provide oppurtunities for work for the regular people to be able to make a living from the revenue gathered from the spending of richer people. The best way to help someone that is poor is to help him or her be able to help themselves. This is the best way to build a more prosporous society imho and I dont see the harm in it as long as commercialization is being kept away from the very center of the shrine?

Shamati got a reaction from IQRA07 in Why Is The Islamic World So Behind The West?
Personally, I dont buy that western imperialism was the reason for the decline of the islamic world. The Ottoman Empire was itself an Empire. I'm quite confident that it's about the mentality of the elite of the islamic world at the time; Sultans, viceroy's, military generals and most prominently the Ulema! They're the ones that were 100% sure they could never be surpassed by a non-muslim people in terms of scientific development and military might. And a great illustration at this arrogance and lack of contact with reality is the fact that the Printing Press was considered HARAM all the way up until the 18th century in the ottoman empire. There was an arogance that is still present among some of the islamic nations that the non-muslim world is "inferior" to the muslim world

There's also a strong tendency in the islamic world to blame "the other" for the failings of the nation. Point in case is what is happening in the Gulf Dictatorships today where the uprising in Bahrain and protests in the eastern provinces is an "iranian conspiracy". This kind of a mentality will doom the nation to be servants of the most successful. Of course there is covert warfare and programs going on but it would never be possible to do these kinds of operations if the ones that do it knew they would be declared war upon if they were exposed..

Why is it that EVERY NATION needs to get their energy from the middle-east but that the middle-east itself NEVER manages to become the superpower it is in terms of resources? As the west is declining, China is ascending and the middle-east continues to be involved in treacherous wars against their neighbourly nations. I dont think this problem will be solved if the whole elite ruling classes is not overthrown and replaced with an elite that genuinely wants their region to be among the ones competing in terms of scientific , economic and educational development..

Of course they do.. This is why the whole world voted for the recognition of Palestine as a state in the UN and the only ones that was against it was the USA plus a handful (7 I think) of very small corrupt and bought out nations which were against it.. This is a problem for the USA that is growing rapidly and as it grows the moral authority of the USA will decline as much as the problem ascends.. Europe will likeley make it illegal to trade with Israeli companies that is tied to the occupation and possibly enact sanctions within 5 years.

The problem with the USA is that the pro-Israel lobbies have more influence than any other political pressure group over the media, finance and election funding. So it becomes impossible for an american politician to go against the will of the zionist lobby because it will make him or her lose the election and have his character assasinated in the media, if he goes "out of line"..

This problem is so severe that it effectively discredits the whole liberal democratic system because the countries are unable to reverse their policies to the will of the people because of the power of lobby groups, financial- and media interests

     Salam,
    I understand :)
These policies and the shee overt racism over modern Israel is especially impopular among the european nations who have increased the ammount of immigration from the middle east and africa to several millions of people each year who are granted the same rights as indegenous europeans.
This will make it even harder for Israel to legitimize their case of an ethnically jewish state among all the nations of the western world

    Salam,
One shouldnt be naive.. Have noone ever thought about why it is that so manyof those who are criticizing the wilayatul faqih as completely impossible a system are living in the western world or immediately adopted by western academia as their favourites? I believe they're being deliberately promoted in the academic world in the hope of shaping the intellectual paradigm that will eventually undermine the Islamic Republic of Iran. Even Ayatullah Sistani (may God prolong his life) has been adopted by the western academie and they're trying to make his statements into statementsf that are against islamic governance and for liberal "democracy"..

So for example, Seyyed Hossein Nasr (may God prolong his life) has a valid point in his traditionalist criticisms of democratic governance. But the academia that is promoting this view have no intention or commitment to a traditionalist monarchy. The only intention and commitment is to use the most valid counter argument against the wilayatul faqih to undermine its authority so that if this view was to gain wide adherence it would not be followed through but lain aside to in the en implement a liberal democracy, just like in the west where it's possible for outside powers to through lobbying and NGO's design all policies.

Even if there wouldnt be a Wilayatul Faqih but a real traditionalist King ruling Iran, that had his authority vested in his religiousity, the west would still try to undermine his authority because islamic government will be impossible to "shape" from the west,, That's the reality of today.

There are probably many problems with the iranian government and their human rights violations etc. But they are building something for themselves, by themselves..

But it's gotta start somewhere. The other nations wont turn away from the will of their Lord and Master as long as there's no alternative. Therefor I believe that Iran, Iraq, Syria & Lebanon should form such a toll free union where goods, capital and people can move freely across the borders. It'd give great incentive to others to go independent.

David.. If that's the case, are the american people violent, aggressive and evil?

Politicians are "actors" in front of the people during election time. They present the issues which the media has already framed months before hand are allowed to be discussed during the election. All politicians in the west agrees on the pressing things in which diversity of opinion would signify an actual democracy. All the significant issues are already agreed upon before hand where the highest bidder has the right to establish the ultimate policy and I dont think one can even be considered as a canditate if on doesnt agree with the established "terms of agreement" so to speak. If the big bussiness agree that being a part of the EU is the only option than it will be so, even if the people of the european nation themselves dont want it as has been proven time and time again all across Europe in recent years.

The difference between the "western" democratic system today and the iranian system post revolution is that in the west the highest bidders among the corporations and banks determine ideology, policy and who're allowed to participate in elections while in Iran a council of scholars elected by the people and their elected supreme leader determines who are allowed be political canditates and what the boundaries of policy are.
Even if your not a muslim one can easily argue that it's more likely that a sholar of philosophy, scripture and metaphysics have the best long term interest of the people at heart than the multinational corporations and banks, who will always follow the money, straight of the cliff.

    Look, Pakistan is an vassal state, just like the gulf dictatorships. The procedure might look something like this;

Step 1: The zionists tells washington; we need you to reduce the governments aligned with Iran because they pose a military threat to our occupation and ethnic cleansing of the palestinians

Step 2: Washington tells the gulf dictatorships; Syria is theoretically demographically possible to divide (thus abolishing the military threat of the syrian army while granting perpetual occupation of the golan heights) if enough sunni muslims can be convinced shi'ism is more dangerous than the occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestine and continuous military attacks against any nation that develops technology not sanctioned by zionism by starting anew the indoctrination procedure through the salafi clerics controlled by the gulf dictatorships and paying those indoctrinated enough to start an armed conflict with the state.

Step 3: The syrian army and people are to strong to subdue for rag tag salafist amateurs; Thus the gulf dictatorships move to professionally trained merenary forces which they know they can get from Pakistan, with the blessing of the USraeli's.

It'll escalate the war, but it'll ultimately fail. Too many people worldwide is aware of the plot and dont like the "collateral damage" that can come decades later like happened at 9-11. If pakistani mercenaries do march to Syria 2 things might happen; the army and the state might lose even more credibility at home as they invade a fellow muslim nations to please the wishes of the zionists, which isnt popular considering what's happening in Afghanistan and its border areas. The second thing is that Iran and Russia might become overtly involved with military force and I'm not sure the gulf dictatorships or Pakistan has the political capital to motivate a war against the only independent muslim state for the furthering of the status quo / zionist hegemony.
