  1. Lankarani also declared eid on Friday. Sistanis's declaration of Eid is in this page; http://www.sistani.org/arabic/send-question/ But I can't read Arabic and there's no text yet in the English version of the site. If someone can interpret the text, could they kindly inform us if this declaration is for Europe as well? I live in Finland, Scandinavia and we commonly have them Eids and other occasions a day or two late..
  2. Assalaamu aleikum I am from Finland and my Maghrib is at the moment 23:20 and fajr at 2. I arrenged so, that I sleep from 19 to 23. Wake up for salah and eat, learn some Islam and after fajr go back to bed for another 4 hours. This seems to work for me. Even though my legs feel all the time that they just want to collapse due to my physical job, but I don't want to give up and do qadha since I've got this far. It has been 30 celcius and sunny here for some days and Subhan'Allah I never knew it would be possible to fast in these conditions. Maybe I was just scared. At the moment someone might w

    Salat

What does it mean when Sistani says "night and day in a 24h period"?
  4. Alhamdulillah, now I know more again. But According to the text above, Bismillah should be aloud in zuhr and asr too? Does it mean that one recites aloud Bismillaahi rrahmaani r-raheem and then rest of the surahs silenty?
  5. Assalaamu aleikum "The Imamis state: Reciting Surat al-Fatihah is necessary in the first two rak’ahs of every salat and no other surah can replace it. But it is not wajib in the third rak’ah of maghrib and the last two rak’ahs of four-rak’ah prayers; rather, one has an option between it and tasbih, though even once is sufficient. It is wajib to recite another complete surah in the first two rak’ahs, and the bismillah is a part of the surahs which cannot be omitted in any circumstance. It is wajib to recite aloud only the surahs and not the other recitations in the morning prayer and the firs
  6. Alhamdulillah. Shukran Magma for sharing Ammars words. He is a speaker I tend to listen a lot 'cause he makes always sense and opens up the matters the way that I always understand him. I still have to read more about the fiqh concerning the hijra, but Alhamdulillah I now know where and what to look for. IloveImamHussein: Shukran brother, I will remeber this in my prayers and may Allah swt be with you tooalways insha'Allah. ~Rose~ Shukran for your niyat, but I know the governmet is corrupt and that many people only look like muslims, but are not really muslims. But compared to a situation whe
  7. Thank you for your replys brothers, but I've heard of the bombings and they are not my concern. Nassiriyah is not so troubled. And I'm not interested going into other western secular societies. And let's say I land in Nassiriyah, and get killed. Let's face it, I could get killed anywhere. And by running away from death, I could not ever be happy, because I can never know when my time comes. It might be tonight, tomorrow, next week, any time. There is no certainty that I'll live to an old age. So I'm not running away from death. But running towards it? Nah, I don't see it that way. I see myself
  8. Assalaamu aleikum brothers and sisters. I was thinking that it might be a good idea to have a topic for reverts with atheist parents. For every revert to tell about their experiences with the family, and possibly find help. So I have my own problem as well. Bismillaahi r-rahmaani r-raheem I am a 22-year old Finnish muslim man, reverted to Islam almost 2 years ago. Before that, I was a typical Finnish person. Drinking alcohol at nightclubs every weekend, talking and having sex with girls, masturbating a lot, smoking weed, smoking cigarettes, using curse words i.e. swearing a lot, listenin
  9. Assalaamu aleikum brothers and sisters. I have been thinking is it halal for us to eat fish that someone else has caught, killed, taken out all else but the thigs which reach the markets. And the thing I've been focusing on, is how the fish is getting caught. Imagine a net, containing thousands of tunafish and the ones on the bottom are crushed because of the weight of the fish on top. The amount of suffering that is caused to the fish in order to catch it. And how long the fish is stuck in the net before they're lifted to the ship? This mass fishing made me think twice before opening a tuna
  10. Assalaamu aleikum Gypsy There it's written: the nearest city with shorter daytime. So, a city that is near to you and has a shorter day. In my situation, I follow the timings of Istanbul. It's a little longer fast as it is in makkah, but in makkah it is much hotter, so fasting is harder, which makes better for me to fast as much as I can. It would be easier to fast to the timings of makkah for me, but it think too easy. wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh
  11. To gajarkahalva: Assalaamu aleikum This religion is not only strict rules. There are also hadith that indicate the importance of pondering over the verses of the Qur'an. And we have been given the brain to think, so we are more than free to use it. Then ask yourself, will it be beneficial to remember the poor during fasting? And why is it, that if you do not fast, you can make it up by feeding the poor? Ponder, reflect. 'Cause how many of us in these days forget the poor. I mean, how many really go through in their heads once in a while, that how does it feel to have constant hunger, and maybe
  12. Of course Allah knows all those things and feelings 'cause He created us, and verything within us. This concept you need to grasp: Allah knows Everything, is able to do Anything and He isn't like us, He is something much greater than a human mind can even think of. So there is nothing He cannot see, hear, do, know, create or predict. He knows all the possible outcomes that occur whether we choose to do some thing or not to do it. We have the freedom of choise, but Allah knows the future for every one of us, I mean, all the possible outcomes of our future. And He may shape it if He wants.
  13. Assalaamu aleikum Brushing teeth with tootpaste is concidered makrooh due the strong taste of it, but will not invalidate the fast as long as the toothpaste doesn't contain anything from pork, and it is not swallowed. Always check your toothpaste with google to be sure. I use generally coconut oil to brush my teeth with. It is very good for your mouth and is used my many non muslims who are enthusiasted about consuming natural products only. The health benefits are proved by sience. Although, during fast I only use my finger to clean the teeth when neccessary, and before every wudhu. And to th
  14. Assalaamu aleikum I was reading through this topic and noticed how many don't know about mut'ah more than the fact it is a temporary marriage. I advice you all to watch this lecture from Sayed Ammar Nakshawani: http://m.youtube.com/index?&desktop_uri=%2F And for those who don't usually watch these hour-long lectures, don't be afraid of it's lenght, it is very interesting from the beginning to the end. Ammar is a great speaker and scholar. wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh
