Monasticism is very disliked within Islam and there are countless of hadiths which verify this, and I never said that it was wajib I said it is vital. Probably nothing haram with it if he were here, but he is not & marrige is a vital institution in islamic society.. so they should not abstain and fantasize of being the lucky brides because it might hurt them badly. Actually, jews, from what I have learned, were genrally not allowed to take interest from other jews, only gentiles. And this is partly why they were so hated in the middle ages, they were making huge profits out of lending money to christians = gentile. But when the catholic church practically allowed interest to be taken in the early fifteen-century protestant were claiming that it was forbidden.
