Salamu Alaykum. I married as a Sunni. But have become a Shia, as I see the truth in Shia Islam. Now my wife is curious of Shia Islam. I assume since I've been told the marriage is still valid after only I become Shia, is it right to assume our valid sunni marriage will stay valid if we both become shia?

So... it is valid regardless?

Not sure if the last post went through. But I am wondering if the marriage is valid in the sunni madhab but wouldn't have been valid in the Ja'fari madhab, would it still remain valid?

Thank you both for the replies! But if Imam Ja'far Sadiq (as) madhab is the truth, what if the rules which governed our marriage conflict with the Ja'fari madhab? For example, in Sunni madhab, the repentence for two who commited zina before marriage is not dependant on the validity of a marriage. As Salamu Alaykum. I have been reading about Shia Islam for a while and am persuaded that it may be the straight path. Problem is, I am married as a Sunni. My wife has said she doesn't mind if I become Shia. She is very lovely, and not an extremist and is very supportive and says she wont stop me from practicing what I conclude is the truth. So I have a few questions. 1. Will I have to adopt Jafari Fiqh? 2. More importantly, will my marriage stay valid?
