  1. 2. (salam) Bro do you know if theres any video coverage of that online?
  3. (salam) While I agree with Sheikh Shabbir that this discussion is just going back and forth and is of no good, I have to clear up some things that were said. Someone mentioned that Ayatollah Fadlallah says it is makrooh to say Aliyun Wali Allah in adhan, I have heard from the Sayids own voice that its ok, and I have an email as well about this issue saying it is ok. So I really do not know where this 'makrooh' comment comes from. Sister spizo, where does it say in that piece you quoted that this was the only reason he was qualified to be a marja? All it hints is that this could be the reason
  4. I'd also like to add that the list of mujtahids who approve of the Sayid is not the complete list. I know of at least one other mujtahid who is not on that list, Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoobi. I don't think he's the only one not on the list though. www.yaqoobi.com
  5. (salam) Thanks for converting it and posting it here, I'd like to know how you made the file size smaller if you dont mind. But back to the topic, I'm not sure what you mean about how the condition of some scholars in Iran relates to this topic. Ayatollah Tabrizi had his fatwa before he passed away, and he did not endure any trouble that I am aware of. And nobody has answered Ya Aba's question yet. wsalam.
  6. (salam) I don't see the problem with me agreeing with the Sayyids beliefs, just like you agree with other mujtahids beliefs. I purposely answered your question with another question because I think its best to refrain from talking about that since I am not in a position to criticize Sheikh Tabrizi, although I do disagree with his fatwa, obviously. I will argue what was said in his fatwa but not the man himself, that is not in my interests and it does me no good, nor does it do any good for Islam. My request was for people to personally do the research if they want to criticize Sayid Fadlal
  7. (salam) Do you think the Mujtahids who have no problem with him did? All I'm saying is there is a difference of opinion, so each opinion should be researched in depth if we ourselves want to come out and criticize. wsalam.
  8. (salam) I think he's referring to calling on them for their intercession. But for that question I think the Sayid may answer that we should look to the Imam's duas and their way of life for spiritual influence, I guess we'll see what he answers when its posted.
  9. (salam) Exactly, Refer to the verses i posted above also. Also refer to what i said about how the verse constantly talks about the prohibition of eating it in terms of how it was killed, and not what you do before you eat it.
  10. (salam) In his opinion it is not a firm hadith. You can email him about it if you'd like to see the answer directly from him. ------- I think that these discussions and accusations without sufficient information are no good. Unless you have Ayatollah Fadlallahs explanations for his beliefs in detail, and you have a way to disprove them, then we can't really go far in our discussions, they will be useless. Unfortunately it is not as easy to get information about his views as it is to get the views of others, however it is possible if you truly wish to know. If you do not go the entire distance
  11. (salam) You might be right but you might want to double check that. Im not a Qur'an expert, but if you look at the verses that talk about haram/halal meat it is talking about what makes the meat haram before it is killed or in the method it is killed: Forbidden unto you (for food) are carrion and blood and swine-flesh, and that which hath been dedicated unto any other than Allah, and the strangled, and the dead through beating, and the dead through falling from a height, and that which hath been killed by (the goring of) horns, and the devoured of wild beasts, saving that which ye make lawful
  12. (salam) Its a lunar eclipse, salat al ayat is wajib, check ur marja for details.
  13. (salam) slave of Allah, i sent you the audio through pm.
  14. (salam) Why is he trying to turn the tables? The comments were clear that any surprise would be an act of defense, not an offensive move.
  15. (salam) I heard Ayatollah Fadhlallah say that in Ayatollah Khomeinis recorded iqamas, he didnt include aliyun wali Allah. Because there is a hadith from the imams a.s. that says the iqama is from the salat, so as a precaution some people dont say it, just like its better not to move when saying the iqama. for the adhan ive heard the sayid say theres no problem in saying aliyun wali Allah in it, but its just the iqama because if you want to say its from the salat like the hadith then you would not say anything thats not part of it - and everybody agrees aliyun wali Allah is not part of adhan
  16. thanks, thats perfect, its a little expensive with the shipping outside of uk, but ill use it if i have to. im still going to check out the bookstores that are closer. thanks again. wsalam.
  17. would you happen to know anybody in karachi who might know where this kind of book is? i can ask some people who have bookstores in the west, but im not sure if theyll have it.
  18. Englsh please, even if its just a title, i want to search for it to buy it.
  19. (salam) I can't find any books about imam sajjad a.s., all i find are short biographies. I want a book about his whole life if there is one, does anybody know any?
  20. (salam) I havent had any problems with mine...yet. Ive had it for 8 months, inshallah it doesnt screw up or ill have to do all that stuff shown up there lol.
  21. (salam) You're talk is unreasonable. You choose to blame the Palestinians for their poor conditions rather than the Zionists, I can't argue with that, you have your belief and I have mine. And Palestinians are not al Qaida. Say all you want, but i've already argued this with what i've said about them being anti shia or nasibis.
  22. (salam) Hamas is horribly organized, its leaders are not all on the same page at all. They do have some real idiots in that group though, but they are not all in the same category. I am with you 100% in being against those parts of the group that are anti shia. But yet again, you lack the proof that the vast majority of Palestinians are nasibis. Supporting the group does not mean they support all of their ideas. It means they support the groups main causes, such as freeing occuppied Palestine. Similarly in Lebanon, many Lebanese do not even know what the wilayat al faqih is, while others do n
