Dispute not with the People of the Book save in the fairer manner, except for those of them that do wrong; and say, 'We believe in what has been sent down to us, and what has been sent down to you; our God and your God is One, and to Him we have surrendered.' [29:46]

I also live in a small European safe haven (Switzerland), but I am really getting scared that these things are going to spread even here in the close future...

On the other hand, our brothers and sisters in faith and their children, all those who live in the Middle East and all over the Muslim world, have been facing death, bombs and destitution every day because of their religious denomination, so we are a bit hypocritical, aren't we?

I mean, we are regularly and sincerely enraged by what is happening far away from us, while sitting safely in Europe and America, in front of the You Tube. And now, as we hear that the problems have moved a bit closer to our homes, suddenly the world isn't such a nice place as it used to be...

Just the same, I cannot imagine how I would feel if I should suddenly stand face to face with some mustache-less Salafi in my favorite supermarket tomorrow... Scary.

    Oh dear.

Will the Westerners see the problem (aggressive Salafism) or is it going to become another reason for the West to hate Islam even more?

Muslims seem to be the only religion on earth whose followers are at each other throats around the world. No other religion caries this disease in our day and age, not at least with the reach Shia-Sunni intra-warfare has in the world.

It was feared for some time that the sectarian war in the Middle East will eventually cast its shadow in communities living in the West too. And this seems to have begun to happen in the UK at least.

Look at these Salafi faces. I'd not even waste my urine If I were to pee in their faces.

And these scary young Western converts. Why don't they convert to Buddhism to fix their lost lives?

    Hi David

In Urdu, we say "Pahlay Ghar chiragh phir masjid chiragh".

A rough translation would be "first the home, then the mosque".

Donor nations should first reduce the number of homeless within their own boundaries to zero before giving even a cent to anyone else.

It is nonsensical to think that donors should give to distant nations when their own people are suffering.

    Unless....

Clearly, the reasons for the charity are to maintain the balance of power in the world.

If I am paying you half your salary every month, what would you do if you ever thought it necessary to speak against me?

Would you really speak up against me?

Do you think this is how charity is to be defined?

Pakistan needs the money to fill the bank accounts of its military offiials so they don't go against the donor nation.

If such regular aid had not been available, Pakistan (and other nations in that situation) would  have learnt to live within their means.

As of now, they have just got too used to charity and therefore cannot do without it.

There is no explicit mention of "fallen angels" in the New Testament at all actually and "Satan" is never once described as an angel. The closest is probably in the Book of Revelation where it mentions "the dragon" who was INTERPRETED as Satan and "his angels" who fight against St. Michael (pbuh) and his angelic forces. But nowhere does it explicitly mention these angels who fight Michael and his host as being specifically "fallen angels." This is something that was interpreted into the text by the Orthodox and Catholic Church.

According to the Bible, Satan was an angel of rather high rank, (not necessarily high power), that let pride get in the way. Once, and only once, (not an ongoing thing), was Satan and one third of the angels refused entrance to Heaven. Upon the death of Jesus the sky was darkened as they were all cast down to earth, never to return to Heaven again, to the presence of God. It also says Jesus was given the key to open the gates of hell, (which is the victory we have over evil), and gives us the ability to, (in Jesus name) cast these demons into the depths of hell by the authority of the will of God.

What's confusing is Jinn. They are not evil in general, but have the freedom of choice as we all do. These fallen angels, (demons) are evil, (without God) and should not be confused with Jinn. The NT teaches us, (when encountering a spirit) to test it to see if it is from God. Apparently, God created at least two forms of angels. One to follow out the instructions of His will, and praise Him, the others with a free will. Whenever something has the ability to choose, there will always be the possibility of making the wrong decisions.

I don't know who changed the title of this thread but this is anything but a civil war. Only a small portion of Iraqis are fighting against the Iraqi Army, and majority of ISIS is made up of foreign dirt. Saying this is a civil war is insulting the Iraqi Army and those who are fighting these parasites. Neither this war, or Syria's war are deserving to be called a civil war.

baqar got a reaction from Lordofgemini in Which Verses Order Wife To Be Obedient To Husband?
Husband and wife both have rights upon each other.  Islam requires a full understanding of its overall message, not just of one or two verses or hadeethes, hand-picked to arrive at a conclusion.

Even if obedience to the husband was mandatory, the husband forfeits that right unless he fulfils his side of the bargain. Asking that others give you your rights when you are not giving them theirs is not Islam.

In general terms, it is better for all concerned to be aware of their obligations than of their rights.

I am pretty sure that at the end of the day, Islam prefers the "safe driver" approach - give way and don't insist on your rights.

I don't think anyone can say for sure that all suicide bombers will go straight to hell.  Most suicide bombers are under-age. Even those who are a little older are more or less forced to do what they do.

Suicide bombing is a very great sin no matter how old one is but I believe final judgment will depend on individual circumstances.

God is just. He judges everyone according to the situation in which the person committed that sin.

The same goes, for example, for prostitutes.

Illicit sex is a big sin for everyone.

But so many girls are abducted all over the world and sold into prostitution.

The overwhelming majority of these have little choice apart from complying.

In any case, it is not good to discuss the final destiny of other people - except perhaps truly very evil people, like the enemies of the prophets and the Ahlul Bayt.

You and I can never be sure where we will end up.

We might think that we are heaven-material but we may very well end up in hell.

No one can say that for sure.

Let us not take divine judgment into our own hands.

You & I will be in need of the Lord's mercy as much as anyone else.

Likewise, no Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh or Jain believes that the Bible is true or that Jesus was true.

Jews believe in the Bible but not in Jesus.

The only people who respect and believe in Jesus are we Muslims.

I saw the video on #7 but not the one you are referring to.

As I have said before, if anything in his speeches was meant to be derogatory, he forfeits all claims to membership of Islam forthwith.

Islam does not accept misleading or disparaging remarks for any of its prophets or others who ae dear to God and have worked hard and made sacrifices for the propagation and triumph of the truth.

This is the point of view of the Apostle Paul:

Romans 1:26-27: "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error" (NASB).

1 Corinthians 6:9-10: "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God" (NASB).

In the Old Testament, it is clear that homosexual sex is an abomination in God's eyes. Leviticus 18:22 states: "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination" (NASB).

Don't let liberal "Christians" tell you otherwise. Homosexual activity is clearly forbidden in Scripture.
