After contemplating the matter over a few months, I have realized that my time on ShiaChat has truly come to an end after 16 years. As such I will no longer be participating on the forum nor responding to PMs. Please keep me in your good du'as and forgive my short comings.

Just so everyone is aware: I'm fine, and nothing against SC at all; I've just decided to spend more of my online time trying to educate myself on Al-Islam.org so thus, I don't have a whole lot of time to be posting right now (perfecting my practice of submission is more important). I still love y'all though. Oh, and Eid Mubarak to you and your families

As my life is terminal, and the future of mankind also has an expiration date, I have decided to post an open letter I recently sent to my family and friends with you all, my friends of another fold, also part of God's creation, humankind, "Adam," and specifically, the descendants of Abraham. Greetings and love,I want to thank you for your love and friendship that you have poured into my life. I want to thank you for your kindness, help and prayers throughout my life. Some of you have known me since I was a child. But I'd like to share the most important parts to me. I grew up in the church, loving Jesus, believing He loved me, innocent and pure in my heavenly Father's sight. But deep inside, I had an ugly sin nature that began to unfurl in my teenage years. I didn't have to make up sins any longer. But that was okay, because I didn't go to confession anymore. I was too afraid and ashamed. I found solace in drugs and love in sex. My first son was born out of wedlock just after my 18th birthday. I tried to commit suicide when he was only two years old. I had an affair. I got hepatitus from sharing dirty heroin needles with a Vietnam vet. I went home to live with my parents. And the most wonderful thing in all my life happened. I experienced the power of the gospel to transform lives. I heard for the first time that Jesus died in my place. He took my spiritual rap sheet, all the debt I owed to God for breaking His laws. Through His chosen people, He told us all what we should do to demonstrate we are deserving of a relationship with Him, to be forgiven of our sins, to be righteous and blessed. But I couldn't do it. And God knew it. Even His special people couldn't do it. So God sent His perfect Son to become a living sacrifice whose blood could be shed to pay for my sins. And I would exchange them for His righteousness. Just as God is fully in Jesus--when I repented of my sins and received Jesus as my Savior, believing by faith that His gospel is truth and able to completely redeem me--His Spirit was sent by the Father to live in me: Emanuel, "God with us." As I am walking the last part of my journey in this life, I am so exceedingly grateful for God's love and grace that rescued me and gives me security that when I die, by God's immeasureable love and grace, I will enter into His presence and pleasure forevermore. He took me from death to life--through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. I am so excited and happy looking forward to that final step, from my carnal mortal flesh--plagued with sins and failures in spite of my desire to love, honor and obey Him--to a perfect glorified immortal body and spirit of total righteousness. Please forgive me for causing you pain in this life. Please know how much I have loved you. And I look forward to when we are going to be together again forever in that wonderful home that Jesus is preparing for us.Love and thanksgiving,

Bismehe Ta3ala, Assalam Alikum brother Let me say you have no reason to be offended in the first place because I did not refer to you as the enemy. SCers could have asked me who I was referring to and I would have told them. There is a particular person who follows the gay topics as a nonbeliever and he is open about his lifestyle. I won't be responding to the thread anymore, I just wanted to clarify as I respect you and consider you a believer (mo2min). Wa shukran

"A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they'd be asked the "half empty or half full" question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: "How heavy is this glass of water?" Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz. She replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn't change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." She continued, "The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed incapable of doing anything."

Knowledge isn't power. Applied knowledge is power. You can read many books, listen to expert advice, even spend time learning useful information about how to develop skills, but unless you apply it, grind, have the discipline to be consistent and sometimes do the things you don't want to do day in day out, you aren't going to go anywhere. Don't assume because you're busy, that you're productive. Don't assume because there's movement, that there's progress. The will to act is everything.

Assalamu aleikum dear brothers and sisters, After some thought I regret to inform you all that I will be leaving SC permanently. Unfortunately I no longer enjoy the atmosphere here on the site and feel uncomfortable. I feel there are many deviants here who claim to be lovers of Ahlulbayt (as) who stop us from practising our faith openly (such as those who are opposed to doing lanah on the enemies of Ahlulbayt as). Earlier on in the year I was reported for quoting the part of Ziyarat Ashura which does lanah and honestly I think that is completely disgraceful - if you are offended by the ziyarats that do lanah on the enemies of Ahlulbayt (as) and you are a Shia then you need to have a hard look at yourself. Instead of this site being a safe haven for Shias its more like a site where we are living to make the so called 'sunnis' happy. Members even had a problem with us doing a Naray Haidary thread. What is Shism coming to when we can't say the name of our Mawla (as) without being criticised by our so called Shia brothers and sisters? In addition, I have felt insulted for being a woman on this site. I have been made to feel that I am nothing more than a sexual temptation for men and that the only reason for me wearing the hijab is just to keep men happy. As a result of this wallah I nearly decided to give up wearing my hijab.Let me make this clear, I don't care what men think of me, I don't live to make men happy, I live to make my Creator happy and my hijab is for Him alone. Allah (swt) doesn't look at me or any woman as a [Edited Out] or [Edited Out], he looks at us as human beings. Some people need to remember this instead of looking at every woman as a source of fitnah. It makes me sad that since I started wearing hijab non-Muslim men have shown me so much respect and then from some Muslim men I have been insulted. Though despite these difficulties I will not allow this to overshadow all the good things that have come out of my time here. I have met some wonderful brothers and sisters who have brought me so much joy and I thank you so much for it. I will be logging onto SC for a few more days so if you want to stay in contact with me, please PM me and don't forget you can follow me on my blog on Tumblr zainabzahraamy and my instagram which is the same. May Allah (swt) bless you all and keep you steadfast.

Ten days of global commemoration against oppression! Is there a more powerful annual conference in the world than the ten days of Muharram? But I wonder how it will be used. I wonder how many youth will spend it arguing and abusing people over its rituals whilst missing its objective of reformation? I wonder how many pulpits will make people cry over oppression but never once mention the oppressions in Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Yemen, Pakistan, Nigeria and Burma? I wonder how many men will cry over the attacks on the Ladies Zainab, Umm Kulthum and Sakina (sa) but then return home to oppress and attack their wives and children I wonder how many will cry over the hunger and thirst of Abdullah ar-Radhi Ali Asghar but then buy products that foster starvation and thirst in this world today I wonder how many will laude Imam al-Hussain (a) as the master and source of free men, while sitting silently as 100 million people remain in slavery I wonder how many will reduce Imam al-Hussain (a) to sectarianism, division and sloganeering while claiming him to be the grandest champion of humanity I wonder how many will curse the dagger of Shimr while saying nothing about the US, Britain, Israel and Saudi exporting weapons and massacre to every corner of the planet I wonder how many will come to the Mosque as a Hussain but leave as a Yazid from backbiting and ridiculing others, and how many will come to the Majlis as Yazid but return home as Hussain, pure and motivated by the Truth More than anything, I wonder these things about myself. I've been going through some tough times. My imaan (faith) is surely tested in the country I reside where apostasy, hypocrisy, and ignorance are the norm. I'm going through a phase. Just hoping this phase will lead to betterment for myself, my family, and most importantly for pleasing Allah/Ellah. We don't live in an Age of Ignorance anymore. This is the Age of Misinformation.
