notme and one other reacted to Gaius I. Caesar for a topic
It is simple, you repent by stop hitting them, read what @Zaid.AN wrote too. You have taught them that you are to be feared instead of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), there are no consequences to lying or that it is "safe" to lie and it is ok to express their anger on their mother, wives or children like the way you have. Whatever it is that you lost, I promise you, it is not it is nearly as valuable as your family.2 points -
Iraq Protests 2019-2020
Ashvazdanghe reacted to Zaid.AN for a topic
Assalamu Alaikum. Alhamdulillah, I found this topic very important, and after reading most of the opinions, I would like to share my view. First, Iraq was occupied by the US and its allied forces until 2011. This period involved severe challenges, including terrorist attacks targeting holy Shia cities during major religious pilgrimages, as well as the bombing of the Al-Askari Shrine (عليه السلام), which sparked sectarian conflict that continued until 2014. Second, in 2014, ISIS emerged—a group that former U.S. President Donald Trump explicitly stated was created by the Obama and Hillary Clinton administration. This led to a devastating war that lasted until 2017. Iraq finally declared victory through the brave sacrifices of its people, supported primarily and critically by the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia. Without their intervention, it is difficult to imagine the outcome, especially since other international powers initially refused to help, telling former Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki that support would only arrive after three years—effectively leaving the country and its populace to face total destruction. Everyone knows that due to these first two phases, Iraq was unable to begin developing. Third, Iraq can be considered relatively stable from 2017 until now. However, in 2019, protests broke out against the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi. Many blamed the government for the lack of progress, overlooking the fact that development takes time step-by-step. Although most protesters were peaceful and motivated by patriotism, the protests as a whole were exploited by external forces, such as the United States, to achieve political gains and block key projects like the Iraq-China agreement. Actual development steps began around 2021, and today we see initial signs of reform, hoping that Iraq will eventually become a strong and prosperous nation. Fourth, the biggest issue being discussed is foreign intervention, particularly by the US and Iran. Some believe America brought the current system to power and that resisting it is futile. Conversely, others see Iran as a standard foreign state with no right to intervene, while another group views Iran as Iraq's strategic and religious depth that must be supported. However, since Iraq is a nation of diverse ethnicities and religions, some components may not favor this alignment. Therefore, a strong government built on complete neutrality must be established to respect all perspectives. Fifth, a major hindrance to political stability is the opportunism of certain Iraqi politicians who continually shift alignments to serve personal interests. For instance, at the height of the 2019 protests, followers of a prominent religious leader (the "Blue Hats") actively suppressed demonstrators while aligning with Iran, demanding the withdrawal of Coalition forces, and insisting on reducing U.S. Embassy staff in Baghdad. However, following recent geopolitical shifts in Gaza, Yemen, Lebanon, Iran, and the fall of Syria from the Axis of Resistance, these same figures abruptly adopted a hyper-nationalist stance. They now vehemently reject any foreign interference in Iraqi affairs, boycott elections on the grounds of widespread corruption, and present themselves as champions of reform. This narrative starkly contradicts their historical role, having actively participated in every ministerial cabinet since the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime with virtually no tangible accomplishments beyond cosmetic gestures, such as repainting dilapidated schools. Because a significant segment of the populace remains easily swayed by populism, these figures are rarely held accountable or pressured to return state wealth accumulated during their tenure. This creates a dangerous vacuum where such leaders—or individuals within their immediate circles—could potentially evolve into a Shia version of Ahmed al-Sharaa or assume an authoritarian role akin to an "Iraqi Aliyev."1 point -

So for the last few days I have been finishing Mario Strikers Battle League's Galactic Mode cup battles. I finished the Trick Cup and yesterday I beat the Championship Cup. I am finished with Strikers and wait for the next one on Switch 2 alongside Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. Good. Also the regular PS5 is expensive compared to the Switch 2 worldwide when you buy it brand new now. I would say at this point Nintendo Switch 2 is the best choice if you want to buy a new system that will still have physical media and play all the AAA games and even stuff like Mario and Zelda. I do like how it will still have physical media while Sony will stop making physical discs for new releases in 2028.1 point -

Ya Rabb, help me in finding a good wife in the same boat as me, who also understands and accepts me as I am. May she find peace and be filled with joy wherever she goes. May she have the strength and courage to find me, love me and live with me. May she find and be filled with much wisdom and clarity in her words and from her experiences. May she in her kindness, share these experiences with me and help us grow together. Verily with hardship comes ease. Salam. What @Zaid.AN said above is your answer. Salam. Sister @notme said hitting your child teaches him/her to be afraid of you. It also teaches the other children to be afraid of you. They could wrongly learn that hitting other people is the way to solve a problem! Other consequences: Will your children start to hit each other? Will they hit another kid at school? Please read this topic again. Everyone gave you good replies. Hug, kiss and hold your children. They need to know they are safe with you. Making dua for you and your family.1 point -

Striking a child in anger is abuse. If you are abusing your child, I recommend therapy immediately, for you and for your poor traumatized child. Using corporal punishment is debated. I, personally, don't do it because it doesn't work and seems like it teaches children to fear getting caught more than to avoid wrongdoing, but it isn't haram as long as you don't leave even a temporary red mark. It is illegal in some countries. If you live where it is illegal to strike a child, you should obviously not hit your child.1 point -
Is Shia Islam attracting more Sunni converts then Non Muslim ones?
Ashvazdanghe reacted to Abu Hassanain for a topic
Salam salafi get the most initial converts because the do the most aggressive dawah in the west . most people who stay salafi are low income do t have much formal education and are very rigid on gender roles and control of women . most educated people leave the salafi religion for mainstream Sunni school Sufi school or Shia school of Islam . in areas with black Latino or white Shia you see more dawah aimed at non Muslims . Examples Ar Rasul in Houston and Los Angeles . They do outreach in black and Latino community .Shia Jamiat at NYU and Scared root in chichago which is student and white converts. They had a Shia halfway house and Jummah for black and prison outreach in north Milwaukee don’t know if it’s still there . Ar Rasoul Imam Office Atlanta does outreach to black Christian’s and Sunni . Ahlul Bayt Shirazi office in Brooklyn did slot of outreach and was mostly black and Caribbean in past . There was a group trying to start an English hussayniah in minister for black Shia converts near Dearborn . Alawi foundation did outreach thru Iec md and iiny schools in 90s . Rhode Island had a small black and Caribbean Shia center . There was a large Irani and white musalah near redwoods in California before Sayyid Mehdi Khursani passed same with Sayyid Jalali in chichago . Nitmallah use to do dawah but doesn’t anymore in nyc and sf . Michigan city center had a large convert population both of former christains and moors . Austin Texas under Shaikh Jafar does outreach . Sayyid Abbas Aleya start Friday discussion groups in nyc and Atl that lead to conversions . wallahu Alam1 point -

Assalamu Alaikum. Repentance to Allah requires fulfilling certain conditions: 1. Regretting the sin that was committed. 2. Having a firm resolve never to repeat it. 3. Seeking forgiveness (Istighfar). 4. Rectifying the consequences of the sin by fulfilling all rights, whether due to Allah or to people. Note: Repentance is not limited to major sins. No matter how great a sin is, it can be erased through sincere repentance. Conversely, a minor sin grows through persistence. Source: Muasasat Almustafaa Lilairshad.1 point -

The Prophesied Flag Of The Mahdi (عليه السلام)
Ashvazdanghe reacted to ServantOfMahdi for a blog entry
|★|The Flag of the Mahdi (عليه السلام): One Design, Multiple Meanings — and Iran’s Banner as Its Clear Fulfillment|★| It is narrated in reliable sources that on the flag of Imam al-Mahdi (عليه السلام) these words appear: Allegiance is for Allah, the Almighty — Kamal al-Din, vol. 2, p. 654 Other versions recorded in Bihar al-Anwar and Ithbat al-Hudat state: Glory is for Allah (or Highness/Exaltation is for Allah). From Nuf al-Bakali: On the flag of the Mahdi (عليه السلام), ‘Allegiance is for Allah’ is written. — Tashrif al-Mannan, p. 144 (Sunni source) From Abdullah ibn Ajalan: … On the flag of the Mahdi (عليه السلام), ‘Allegiance is for Allah’ is written. — Al-Adad al-Qawiyah, p. 66 At first glance the wordings differ. How can one flag carry all these meanings at once? The answer lies in the nature of Arabic calligraphy and sacred design. When the single word Allah (الله) is written in a highly stylized, geometric, or symbolic form — especially one that incorporates visual elements of power, sovereignty, and submission — the surrounding context and the viewer’s understanding can legitimately yield all of these readings. The core is always the same: everything — allegiance, glory, exaltation, authority — belongs exclusively to Allah. The different narrations are not contradictions; they are complementary descriptions of the same reality expressed through a multi-layered visual-linguistic design. This is precisely what we find on the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran. ★The Central Emblem: “Allah” Written in a Way That Contains All Meanings At the heart of Iran’s flag stands a red emblem designed by Hamid Nadimi and approved in 1980. It consists of four crescents arranged symmetrically around a central vertical stroke that ends in a sword-like form, topped by a shadda (the diacritical mark that doubles a letter). Read right to left in the classical manner, the four crescents and the central stroke form the letters of the Arabic word Allah (ا ل ل ه). The overall shape simultaneously evokes a tulip (the ancient Persian symbol of martyrdom, said to grow from the blood of those who die for truth) and a globe (the universality of Islam). The five elements of the design also represent the five pillars of Islam. The central vertical stroke — the sword — carries particular weight in the context of bay‘ah. In Islamic tradition, the sword is not merely a weapon; it is the classic symbol of legitimate authority, the power to enforce justice, and the readiness to defend divine order. When this sword rises through the very word “Allah” and is crowned by the shadda that intensifies its force, it visually declares that all true authority and all right of command belong solely to Allah. The act of pledging allegiance (bay‘ah) is precisely the recognition of that exclusive authority. Thus the same design that writes “Allah” also writes the meaning of bay‘ah li-llāh: allegiance is given only to the One whose sovereignty the sword represents. The upright blade becomes a silent but unmistakable call to submit and to transfer every claim of power back to its rightful Owner. Because the word “Allah” is rendered in this abstract, geometric, multi-layered style, the eye and the heart can legitimately draw from it: - The pure affirmation that Allah alone is the focus. - The implication of bay‘ah (allegiance): the entire composition, crowned by the sword of authority, is a visual pledge that sovereignty and obedience belong only to Him. - The sense of glory and exaltation: the upright sword-like stroke rising through the word, intensified by the shadda, visually proclaims that all glory and elevation belong to Allah alone. In other words, the very design that writes “Allah” simultaneously writes the meanings reported in the different narrations. One stylized inscription yields every reported reading. ★The Repeated Takbir: A Public Act of Allegiance Along the edges where the green and red bands meet the white band, the phrase Allahu Akbar (“Allah is the Greatest”) is written twenty-two times in white Kufic script — eleven times on the lower edge of the green stripe and eleven times on the upper edge of the red stripe. The number twenty-two commemorates the 22nd of Bahman 1357 (11 February 1979), the day the Islamic Revolution triumphed. This continuous border of takbir is far more than a historical marker. The very cry that rose from the rooftops of Tehran on that night — “Allahu Akbar” — was itself an act of bay‘ah. By declaring that Allah is greater than the Shah, greater than any earthly throne, greater than every claim to absolute power, the people transferred their allegiance from human rulers to the only true Sovereign. Embedding that same cry twenty-two times along the flag’s borders turns the banner into a permanent, public renewal of that pledge. Every time the flag is raised, it reenacts the moment when a nation said, in the language of the narrations: “Allegiance is for Allah.” The date of the Revolution is therefore not an incidental detail; it is the historical embodiment of the very principle written on the Mahdi’s flag. ★Colors and Overall Symbolism - Green: the color of Islam, growth, and the Ahl al-Bayt. - White: purity, peace, and sincerity of intention. - Red: martyrdom, courage, and the blood of those who sacrificed for truth. Together with the central “Allah” (containing the sword of divine authority) and the surrounding Allahu Akbar (the living declaration of exclusive allegiance), the flag becomes a complete visual theology of tawhid in action: allegiance, glory, and exaltation belong solely to Allah. ★Conclusion: The Misdaq of the Prophetic Descriptions The narrations describe a banner whose essential inscription centers on Allah in such a way that the meanings of exclusive allegiance and exclusive glory both emerge naturally. Iran’s national flag fulfills this description with remarkable precision. Its central emblem is the word “Allah” written in a stylized form that simultaneously conveys sovereignty, strength, martyrdom, and universal monotheism — the sword at its heart being the visual seal of divine authority to which bay‘ah is due. Its borders continuously proclaim “Allahu Akbar,” the same cry that marked the historical transfer of allegiance from earthly power to Allah on 22 Bahman. Its colors and geometry reinforce the same message. No other national flag on earth places the word “Allah” at its absolute center in this layered, calligraphic-symbolic manner while surrounding it with the repeated declaration of His greatness. In the language of the traditions, this is the flag on which “Allegiance is for Allah,” “Glory is for Allah,” and “Allegiance is for Allah, the Almighty” are all written — because the design itself makes every one of those meanings visible. May Allah grant us the success of recognizing the signs He has already placed before our eyes.1 point -

I would honestly say the regular PS5 is fine enough or a Switch 2. PS5 Pro doesn't have much over the regular PS5 like PS4 Pro did over the regular PS4. All it has AI upscaling, better frame rates and more storage at 2TB. I would say to buy used PS5 or get Switch 2. Switch 2 is much cheaper and will play most games just fine.
