wa 'alaykum assalam,
Last weekend, it was raining quite heavily, I was driving through one of the major tunnels in my city, it is normally always packed with cars, on the day I was driving through it, it was unusually empty, as I went around a bend, the wheels on my can completely lost their grip and I just slid sideways, it happened at the point that the tunnel splits into two, so instead of hitting the wall, I slid onto the empty area between the parting on the tunnels.
It starts off with four lanes, then two go off to the right and two to the left, I slid as i was going to the right and luckily there were some plastic bollards like this -

- In the empty space to kill the speed of the car without damaging it.
This is how narrow the tunnel get when split into two lanes:

As I was trembling and thanking God for saving me, about a dozen cars all came through the tunnel at the same time, had I been coming through the tunnel 30 seconds later, I would have caused a massive accident, and as I was in the right hand lane, on a left hand drive car, as the driver, I would have have received the full impact of what ever I hit, or whatever hit me.
I'm still a little shook up about the whole thing. When I drive through the tunnel, I can see the two bollards that I knocked off, they are still lying there.
Alhamdulillah.
The point is, I think that when it's our time, it's our time, when it isn't, it isn't, sorry to be pessimistic.
