Religion seems to survive better in an economy that is still insular (feudal), that is, not yet open to globalisation via international trade. Otherwise, consumerism tends to supplant the tribe, nation, and family—the three nuclei of religion. In Europe feudalism declined with the abolition of monasteries and the rise of mercantilism in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The facilitation of international communications only enabled the erosion of local social mores, customs, and organic structures. Shutting down media, including radio, in general might actually serve to isolate communities from potentially harmful influences. People tend to thrive in closely knit communities of their kin rather than heterogeneous agglomerations enforced by open borders, communications, and trade.2 points

You will sometimes find that the Muslim diaspora in the West is more "extremist" than the ones back home. Either way I believe the general trend is religiosity among Muslim youth globally is declining, and that means that political religious movements like the Brotherhood will also decline, the fear is this may allow for the more extreme groups such as Al-Qaeda or ISIS to recruit.2 points -

Iraq elections 2021

I didn't follow it in detail but it seems like the people are pretty much disillusioned at this stage with any candidate or form of government. Nobody has really gained the trust of the people in the last 20 years. I don't know how high the turnout was, but I question if people even see a benefit in voting if it's unlikely to have any impact on their living conditions.2 points -
Iraq elections 2021

The Sadrists have a declared claim that they wish to keep Iraq away from regional conflicts, and to keep Iraq away from being part of any alliance or axis. They say they want a strong Iraqi state with centralised authority, and all heavy weaponry under the direct control of the Ministry of Defense. This is what they claim, and the easiest thing to do is to claim and talk and chant. In actual action, the Sadrist ministries and local offices have always been dens of corruption, just like other parties. Not to mention that the Sadrists themselves are in possession of weapons and control a private army, and have used violence and assassinations in the past. Anyway, inshallah khair.2 points -

Saudi Arabia is not the same country as it used to be, in fact the youth of the KSA are just as liberal as the youth in the other parts of the Arab world. Saudi Arabia will eventually implement laws similar to other Gulf countries, where there are baseline Islamic restrictions but still attractive enough for Western tourism and investment. You will really only see strict Islamic guidelines in Mecca and Medina, at the same time you will see another Dubai in the City of Neom that is currently being built. The region is changing, and Islamism seems to be on a dying trend in the Arab world. Nationalism and liberalism is on the rise.2 points -

Off topic but one interesting thing about how we can know prophet Ishmael is the one who was choosed to be sacrificed is that by his character mentioned in Quran, where God said that he was the patience one. It is something that is very honorable title who tolerate all kind of tests. The Prophet Muhammad (saws) and his Ahlulbayt (عليه السلام) surely are the manifestation of patience and prayer.2 points -
@Haji 2003 certainly many will be alarmed at the fast degradation of social morals in Saudi Arabia, but I also agree with @Sumerian that large portions of secular society, particularly the globalized, social media youth, will see this positively. For now I think many prefer to silently approve rather than to stick their necks out openly (no pun intended) with public shows of support. Regarding your second link to the FT, this is indeed a new low. While it doesn't surprise me that religion has sadly been abandoned by many, or at least secularized, I am amazed at how quickly the Arabs abandoned their cultural conservatism in such affairs.1 point

He does not deal harshly. Neither in terms of judgement nor righteousness. The Christian paradigm in the other hand is that God set a standard of righteousness impossible to attain and has thus condemned mankind to hell. His offering was "Perhaps" they might sin. How does that fit even closely what Iesous is supposed to have accomplished? And nobody denies blood is a valid sin offering, if certain conditions are met. None of which were fulfilled in Iesous' crucifixion. See this previous post https://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235072303-why-many-jews-do-not-believe-yeshua-is-the-messiah/?do=findComment&comment=3363651 Those interested can further see this explanation, detailing why Iesous' sacrifice is invalide per Jewish law https://truthanvil.blogspot.com/2020/03/cira-international-discuss-jewish-law.html?m=1 What is discussed and repeatedly proven by now, is that besides blood, many avenues exist in the HB to obtain forgiveness of sins. Here is a previous post demonstrating the matter and which the Christian apologist will not and cannot address https://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235072303-why-many-jews-do-not-believe-yeshua-is-the-messiah/?do=findComment&comment=33637331 point

Agreed, though the reason for the original post was to highlight how much of a surprise this is to Muslims (Sunnis) in the Middle East and elsewhere. I wonder how much inspiration this provides to future Bin Ladens. Going by the comments, this seems to be crossing a red line (references to the Qur'an etc.) that similar activities in Dubai had not (to my knowledge anyway). Also an interesting piece in today's FT suggesting that the entry of Saudi into the 'liberal' arena may lead to a race to the bottom: https://www.ft.com/content/79abe724-0e42-4933-8305-61524f24e1ae1 point -

There is usually a vegetarian option, and vegetarian foods are inherently halal. Having access to halal meat in institutional settings is certainly nice, but not essential. I'd worry about bigger problems first, but if there is sufficient demand, I'd voice support for someone else's efforts in this area.1 point

Election results will be certified and announced on Wednesday, but I was running unopposed. I am not prepared to be a leader at state level - I'm not even a leader in my local community. I'm only out of necessity the leader in my own household, because nobody else will do it. Please make tons of duas that I don't fail miserably.1 point -
The Pre-Existence of Jesus
Andrew Israel reacted to Ashvazdanghe for a topic
Hi you have totally wrong understanding from Quran because in Quran clearly has mentioned that religion of all prophet from prophet Adam (عليه السلام) then Noah (عليه السلام) then Ibrahim/Abraham (عليه السلام) so therefore prophet Musa/moses & prophet Isa/Jesus (عليه السلام) has been Islam which it completly revealed without any distortion of previous holy books of Injeel/Bible & Torah in Quran as final & undistorted revelation which verifies undistorted parts of Injeel/Bible & Torah which duty f prophet Muhammad (pu) has been repeating word of Allah/God without any interfering or adding or subtracting anything from word of Allah/God & his original religion as Islam. In similar fashion which you sre sure which Yeshua is not in hell which every living creature even Yeshua will die without doubt also mind your language which is similar to Wahabists /Salafists likewise ISIS/Daesh terrorists which by the same token they belive that prophet Muhammad (pbu) is " in the grave and dead." which have no relationship to this world & belivers until judgment day according to their distorted belief which is influenced by Zionist & Evangelical distorted belief in name of Wahabism /Salafism.1 point -

Only name Allah is for the One that knows everything. Anyone praying other than Allah has left Islam and called something that has limited knowledge and power and can not answer nor help. لِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا فِيهِنَّ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ Holy Quran al-Maidah 5:120 To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and whatever there is in them, and [Allah] huwal has power over all things. ۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ Everything is weak before Allah, and Allah alone hold faiths, destinies and power over all things. Anyone who prays other than Allah has not worshipped the one who is worthy of worship nor recognized Allah, Magnificent. Rasulullah (SAAS) can not, nor can Walitullah (عليه السلام) arrange matters when they have no knowledge of all things and therefore they can not answer to prayers. Rasulullah (عليه السلام) nor Waliatullah (عليه السلام) do not deserve the name Allah who is The Only one who knows everything. Allah All-Powerful, All-Knowing, All-Wise. One who calls creation and claims they have power to answer or knowledge to answer has committed the greatest sin. الله أكبر الله اَلْغَفُور لرَّحِيمِ1 point -

I just nominated myself to be the secretary of the state organizing committee of a new political party. What am I getting myself into? If nobody else will do it, the project will fail and we will be stuck with the status quo. But I'm very uncomfortable with the idea of being expected to keep organized paperwork. I just finished two months of searching for my social security card.1 point -
