As a husband, he is responsible for supporting you. He should manage the family dynamics to ensure he keeps you happy, as well as his parents and siblings. As it has been 4 years now, you should give an ultimatum to your husband regarding his lack of action, and to mention that you won't put up with the treatment you've been receiving for much longer. You should mention to your husband that if he wants you stay with his family, then at the very least, he should manage the environment to ensure there is respect and good family values. If he doesn't do anything, you should consider taking a step back from the relationship and moving back in with your own parents for a while. If nothing changes after some time away, then it might be time to reconsider your marriage. Marriage is about equal compromise, not one person bearing all the weight and burden to make the other happy. If everyone is to live under the same roof in harmony, then he has to take control of the situation so whenever someone is at fault within the family, he should tell them to fix up. I hope you find peace and happiness insha'Allah.2 points -

Walaykum salam, Indeed, according to most scholars, boxing is permissible as long as it does not involve significant harm. It is disliked though, due to the risk of suffering from injuries and long term damage to the brain from sustained strikes to the head. Wrestling, on the other hand, was praised by the Prophet on several times. What follows is from my personal research on this topic and more speculative, and is not supported by well known scholars: The existing martial style most similar to the one practised by the Prophet and Ali is "catch wrestling", as understood by Billy Robinson and his people. There was also a hidden martial knowledge that is very rare nowadays: the internal strength of people such as Minoru Akuzawa, Dan Harden, Saotome Sensei, Hiroshi Ikeda, William Gleanson, Roy Goldberg, George Ledyard... It is my belief that this knowledge arrived to the far East by means of the Hui people, and from there it gave rise to internal martial arts such as tai chi. Later on the martial secrets were hidden, and nowadays they are very rare to find, there only remains watered down versions of tai chi except for the people mentioned above. Hope it helps brother!2 points

What this tells us is that rich countries who believed that it would all be ok as long as their people were vaccinated were wrong. Unless the whole world is vaccinated, there will be breeding grounds for variants and rich countries will have to stump up to pay for this otherwise their sophisticated economies will be kaput. You kinda have to admire God for having created something that forces the rich to give to the poor to save themselves.1 point

Silence is nothingness, silence is not the absence of sound. You can feel it only in the moment of complete stillness when there is no movement, no vibration. When the words are spoken, there is silence. When the relative is over, the absolute remains. The silence before the words were spoken, is it different from the silence that comes after? The silence is one and without it the words could not have been heard. It is always there -- at the back of the words. Shift your attention from words to silence and you will hear it.1 point -

Ok so I'm not going to disagree about similarities. But when talking about that which are the fundamentals of your faith hard evidence is required. Not conjecture and making links here and there. The part about succession has been answered in part as we agree upon the Zaidi & 12er fundamentals of the explicit appointment of Imam Ali and the vast amount of evidence supporting it. Now when we look to your fundamental of 12 Imams. You posted some hadith to give Quranic tafseer to support your claim. Now as we are both layman I want to ask a question. Imagine a person studying Islam maybe not settled on any group yet. Why should they accept the hadith from 12er sources you posted for those verses ? as apposed to Sunni or Zaidi etc.1 point -
Viruses & Vaccinations
Son of Placid reacted to Sumerian for a topic
Iceland and "Israel" who have vaccinated over 80% of their eligible populations have now reintroduced restrictions and have issued warnings about their healthcare systems potentially being overwhelmed due to the rapid rise in hospitalisations, which has made "Israel" (a vaccination success story, apparently) even contemplate another lockdown. There are many factors to this, one of the claims is that the vaccine efficacy even against severe infection and death can reduce after 6 months, and another claim is that the new variants, in particular the Delta strain, are breaking through too many vaccinated individuals, in particular those who are already immunocompromised and/or the elderly and other at risk populations, and are causing hospitalisations. This has caused people to rush to proposals where they are suggesting kids have to be vaccinated now - and urgently - and that booster programs must begin as soon as possible for the frontline workers and the at risk populations, and as I mentioned before, a return to restrictions (again) and now the new one - "vaccine passports". My prediction is we will remain - as a global society, in most places - under restrictions (at the very least vaccine passports), and potentially lockdowns from time to time, as well as annual or half-yearly jabs being the norm, for a long time (which the CEO of Moderna admitted himself). My personal opinion is that in all of this there is massive government overreach and disregard for basic liberties, a great deal of hysteria and panic driven by certain parts of the media, and an indifference to those who are suffering as a result of the "cures" to Covid under the guise of following the science.1 point -
Once the soul enters the body of the fetus, it becomes a valuable lifeform, and has the same right to life as anyone else. It becomes equal to its mother and to any other human. Just as I have a soul, you have a soul, the mother has a soul, the baby also has a soul, and no one is allowed to take a soul except where Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) has allowed it to be taken. What you are implying is that we should have the right to end someone's life in order to save someone else's life, and that's not how it works, because like I said, the baby's soul is as valuable as any other human's, fetus or not. In such a case where it is either the baby is born (once the soul has entered) or the mother's life is in danger, then the most we can do is Du'a and hope for a miracle. This is an unfortunate event and a calamity.1 point

Our main focus should be on imitating the Iranian model and restoring the utmost quality...if we follow this diagram then quantity will naturally follow as a matter of logical/natural consequence...that said, amazingly Islam is still the fastest growing religion in the world...this despite all the negative Western propaganda relentlessly hurled at it from every conceivable angle...Islamic growth is expected to surpass Christian growth (for the first time) by 2050 according to Pew Research Center analysts...this means a steady progression for Shi'ism as a unvarying cog within Sunnism (estimated annual growth rate for the Shi'ism is 1.6 percent and for Sunnism is 1.7 percent in 2014)…they maintain our numbers fall somewhere between 10 - 15%...but my instinctive feeling tells me that those statistics are based on ultra-conservative figures and that we're closer to 17 - 22%...sacredness will largely disappear the further we venture into the future...Third World peoples will continue to worship the Westerner as a god besides God until religion and all indigenous forms of traditionalism will eventually go the way of the dinosaur...secularism, industrialization and globalization will continue to spiral and snowball...the world will become smaller and more interconnected...Muslim women will continue to abandon the headscarf and Muslim men will continue to shave their beards (unless hipsters decide it to be culturally appropriate or sophisticated)…but there will always be a small contingent of devout followers that will gallantly stand firm until the end1 point -

Shia haters will keep hating and spreading lies of us. How can we be "Satanists" when we literally say :"I seek refuge in God from Satan the accursed". Besides, many times in the Qur'an it says that Satan is mankind's biggest enemy. These people think that we don't read the Qur'an . As for that pagan/polytheist nonsense, it is sufficient to say that the biggest sin in Shi'ism (and the rest of Islamic madhabs) is to be a pagan/polytheist. If they want to attribute lies to us, let them learn to be better liars. But what can you expect from such people who don't have a 'aql ?1 point -

Ashvazdanghe reacted to Mohamad Abdel-Hamid for a topic
Regarding the verse of the 12 naqeebs, without any tafseer, it's about Bani Isra'eel, and not the Ummah of Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). However, there are very important points that can be concluded from this verse: 1) These leaders are chosen by Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) as it clearly says "We raised up among them twelve chieftains". This is one of the characteristics of twelver imamah. 2) Again, since they are chosen by Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and are divine leaders instead of just scholars, disagreeing and opposing them is prohibited and anyone who does so "shall lose the right way", meaning that they are astray from the path of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). 3) The children of Israel had 12 appointed leaders. Jesus (عليه السلام) had 12 apostles. Don't you find it also logical for Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) to have 12 successors ? You obviously may disagree immediatly with me, also you may say this is baseless deduction, and that nowhere in the Qur'an does it say that there will be 12 imams after the prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). We don't deny that, but the Qur'an also says: سُنَّةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ اللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًا "Such has been the course of Allah that has indeed run before, and you shall not find a change in Allah's course." (Qur'an 48:23) For us 12ers, this is a very strong indication that the nation of Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) will, just as the nations of Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them both), also have 12 leaders after him. For us, it's logical that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) not to designate different numbers each nation, rather to be consistent, and always emphasized that he appointed Twelve Successors to each founding Prophet each nation. But if still you don't accept this that's fine. I just find it hard to believe that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) appointed leaders for the children of Israel, yet for the nation of Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), who is suposed to be far greater and the ultimate and best of all religions, he didn't appoint any...1 point -

Walaikum salam, Imam khomeini believed similar hadiths referring to God creating Adam in his image / form / surah as per Irfan. This does not mean Allah has a body or is anthropomorphised in any way but Imam Khomeini explained it in this way (if you read the full link Imam Khomeini explains conflicting hadiths as well): With my chain of authorities reaching up to the august shaykh, the Pillar of Islam, Muhammad ibn Ya’qub al-Kulayni (R) from a group of our Companions, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid, from his father, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Bahr, from Abu Ayyub al-Khazzaz, from Muhammad ibn Muslim, who said: I asked Abu Ja’far (A) concerning that which is narrated, that God created Adam (A) in His form (surah literally, form, image). He replied, “It is a form that was originated and created. He elected it and chose it over all the other different forms and attributed it to Himself, in the same way that He has attributed the Ka’bah and the Spirit (ruh) to Himself, saying: ‘My House (2:125, 22:26),’ and ‘I breathed into Him of My Spirit. Also I want to add if someone unbiased is reading the verse and using the Qur'an as its own tafsir. 2 verses directly adress who are truthful: The believers are only the ones who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and then doubt not but strive with their properties and their lives in the cause of Allah. It is those who are the truthful. 49:15 For the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their properties, seeking bounty from Allah and [His] approval and supporting Allah and His Messenger, [there is also a share]. Those are the truthful. 59:8 With these verses present. The general application of the verse is best. And I don't believe it favours any sect.1 point -

Ok so we are both reading the verse from our already preconceived beleifs. So again let's look at the verse unbiased and without tafseer. So I agree that the disagreement maybe with the believers rather than Ulil amr. This is possible from just reading the verse But it is also possible the disagreement maybe with the ulil amr. Your argument about infallibility and needing to access the sunnah through them is based on being and Imami Shia. As you are trying to proove your creed using the verse you can't rely on assumptions of infallibility of ulil Amr. Let's go step by step Possible readings : 1) The disagreement is with the ulil Amr 2) Disagreement between believers not ulil Amr. Then guidance is to go back to Allah and the Prophet without mentioning ulil Amr so the resolution does not require ulil amr. 3) The disagreement is between the believers and resolution is through Allah and the Prophet, which is accessed through the ulil Amr Let's analyse the 3 position 1) obey is not the same as Allah and Prophet as u can disagree with ulil Amr 2) So again the obey now becomes conditional as ultimate authority is to Allah and Prophet ulil Amr not mentioned as part of the resolution. 3) (which I believe you are saying) Supports your belief but is a very strange reading. Obey A,B,C if X disagree then they go to A&B which is accessed through C. But C not directly mentioned. A very strange and long winded way to say obey C and if there are any problems seek guidance from C 3) Also requires the assumption that Qur'an and sunnah can only be accessed through Ulil Amr. Nothing in the verse indicates this (other than your insistence Obey Prophet and ulil Amr means this indirectly) My conclusion is 1&2 are the clearest and simplist readings. And both support my claim. How to move forward: 1) 1& 2 are possible we can explore it further to see who it supports 2) only reading 2 is possible (again I'm happy to ignore 1 for arguments sake) and we can explore it further 3) You disagree and favour 3 but believe all the readings are possible. I'll entertain reading 3 and we can move to tafseer for an explanation. To see which reading is correct. 4) If you insist on reading 3 as the only possible reading then tafseer won't help as the plain reading of the verse (according to you) therefore it only supports Imami Shia . So we can agree to disagree on the reading and move onto the next verse you mentioned. Your thoughts ?1 point -

Salam, Please understand the purpose of Nubuwwah and Imamah. Rasulullah is to give good news and warning to all mankind, regardless who they are, men and women from his time to the future. He has to invite people to the right path in the best manner. Imams are to guide mankind to follow what the Prophet has laid down. Rasulullah and Imams have to show upmost restraint and patience in finishing the hujjah to everyone on the earth. Rasulullah and Imams will give their life in order to guide the people during their time and future people even though they suffered the utmost pain. They are not after duniawi leadership but it will beneficial for all humans to make them as their elected leader. By default, they are as wali. Wali is guardianship, independent from space and time. How do we expect Rasulullah and Imams to behave, under the principles of Nubuwwah and Imamah? Sword all the time or be patience and finish the hujjah to the people. Try and try to invite and guide until the last moment of their life. Imam Ali said that he would forgive Ibnul Muljam if he is alive. He gave ibnul Muljam water and lesser the tightness of rope around the hands of Ibnul Muljam. Can we learn a lesson here? Imam Hussain and his army got the control of water at the Euphrates river, near Karbala but allowed his enemies to drink from it. And in every single seconds at Karbala, he invited the enemies to return to right path and finishing the hujjah. At the final moment before his head was cut off, he called to Shimr and say "I am thirsty and give me water". If Shimr had followed that request from an Imam, he would be safe. But, the final hujjah was given. Shimr (la) could no longer be safe from hell fire. It is because to give some hope to the future of Islam and delivering of hujjah for future people to witness, Imam Ali didn't forcefully opposed the 3 Quresh leaders and also defended Uthman from be killed. But, he made it clear that he opposed the selection of the 3 Quresh leaders and also future people can't say that Ali was also the party that supported the killing of Uthman.1 point -
Hadith collections for Shia muslims
Ashvazdanghe reacted to IDon'tWannaSay for a topic
Assalamu alaikum brothers and sisters, I was wondering as a fellow shia muslim myself, what hadith collections or books do we have which we can use? Also, just as a fun fact, most of the hadith compilers for sunni muslims, were all Persians, which is where most shias in the world reside in atm, pretty cool huh?0 points -
Questions about Zaidi beliefs
Eddie Mecca reacted to Al-Zaidi for a topic
Be careful. The Ithna Ashariyyah has its own skeletons, e.g. Ismail bin Ja'far, Abdullah al-Atraf, Waqifiyyah, Tawussiyyah,Bazighiyya, Muhammad ibn Ali al-Hadi, Ja'afar al-Kadhab, Nawbakhti family, etc. Most damning of all, Kamal al-Haydari revealed the infiltration of Yahudi, Masihi, and Majusi narrations into Twelver traditions and even into Tafsir al-Qummi! I would advise caution and self-reflection before drawing attention to such matters. The Twelverism of today is quite different from the time of Yusuf al-Bahrani, and different from the time of Saduq and Tusi, and different from the time of Murtadha, and different from the time of pre-ghaybah.0 points -
