I am disgusted by the level of intra Shia Fitna and how so many people fall for it. Seems they already managed to kill us, great job guys.

@Ashvazdanghe those Sunni figures may be respected for the Sunnis, and so we won't disrespect them in front of the faces of Sunni people. However, in our own hearts, I hope we both have nothing but disrespect and hate for them. Maybe to be more clear next time, you can write, "those figures which Sunnis respect" instead of "Sunni respected figures", because the latter is a little ambiguous (which can be a problem) if you understand what I'm saying... Also brother, you see what you're doing here, you are describing groups of your own fellow Shia as "cults with wierd beliefs"? Why? On one hand you are respecting those who love and praise the ones who usurped the rights of and oppressed the ahle bayth (a) and on the other hand, while doing the respecting of the group I just described above, you're referring to your fellow believers as cults with wierd beliefs. I understand sometimes there are a few groups of our Shia who can act cult-like and have weird beliefs, but here, I think the way you've said it is not really that acceptable.

    Conspiracy Theories

You do realize it's not difficult to find a group of people to protest Injustice of any kind, right? There's never a need to pay anyone. Even those Trump rally weirdos are real life people, demented people, but people. (Some of them are relatives of mine.)

As long as you don't say that on Twitter or Facebook you should be alright. I don't believe Don has many fans here on shiachat, just a few apologists. The Trump-trolls love Facebook, because that's where we gullible old people hang out.

Hope so. Forgot to mention another big one: abolish "right to work" laws, which very severely restrict unions and give employers the right to fire anyone without cause or warning. (Should be called "right to fire".)

We need more people willing to spend some time putting thought into their opinions and their thoughts into words. Shiachat thrives on diversity of ways of thinking. I don't know when it became a thing, but @hasanhh, thanks.

Not surprised by their behaviour, hatred for Iran and Imam Khamenei is imbedded in there hearts. I don’t know why, maybe they are still upset from the Iran-Iraq war defeat, or maybe the Shirazis just have a strong influence there. Then they feed there kids with propaganda, and the kids grow up thinking Iran is the boogeyman of the Shia world. Shias need to be a united force not enemies, look at Shias in Iran-Lebanon how united and strong they are, why can’t Iraqis join this powerful alliance? Israel/America and Isis can’t touch us, they are scared of us. But Iraq? Always being bullied. Every time anti-Iran Shias go to ziyarah in Iraq, they should remember without Iran’s help Karbala and Najaf would be isis strongholds by now.

Walt Disney didn't start out with his dad's millions. I do appreciate that he hasn't started any new wars, but it's not from lack of trying. "The economy" is a euphemism for "the difference between rich and poor". Rich people are getting richer, but most people's lives have not improved, most people's resources have not increased. Salaries have been stagnant since before Trump was in office so we can't blame him, but the claim of improvement is a lie and we can and do blame him for his lies. No, man, you can trace it to his campaign promises to further divide the population. He ran on a platform of "us while males" against everyone else and he's delivered on the promise to divide us. The blue collar white people who voted for him are just deluded. He would dispose of them as easily as anyone else that doesn't advance his megalomania.

    Thoughts 2019

Observation: Being kicked in the ribs by a preschooler ( accidentally ...he was playing with me) hurts a lot more when you are in your sixties. I'm not going to be doing chores with much grace today. What hurts more is grandson feeling very sad about it. This little guy is going to be great in any sport requiring kicking, though!

Why are Iraqis so hateful towards Iran?

"Shias this" and "Shias that" is the problem. Iraq is not a Shi'a country. Iraq needs a government that looks out for the interests of all Iraqis equally no matter what sect or race (Sunnis, Shias, Kurds are all national brothers), not simply do what is in "Shi'a interests" (which is a false term anyway, because supporting the nasibis in Hamas is not a Shi'a interest). "Shi'a interests" for some members here means follow whatever Iran says, well too bad for you guys Iraqis don't believe in this. Most Iraqi Shias are followers of Sayyed Sistani, and he said this: "No person or group, no side with a particular view, no regional or international actor may seize the will of the Iraqi people and impose its will on them," He also said this to President Rouhani when he met with him: His Eminence, welcomed the steps to strengthen Iraq’s relations with neighbouring countries based on mutual interests, respect for sovereignty and non-interference in domestic affairs. The biggest ba'athists and nasibis are those who mourned Saddam's (la) death aka Hamas. Yet your country loves them and sends them cash. The other ba'athist is Assad. And not everyone who wants "Iran out" is a ba'athist. Ba'athism is dead and is in the garbage can forever. We want all out, Iran, Saudi, America and whoever else. ALL countries out. Iraq alone.

Fabrication. Ahlul Bayt are not as petty as you and I. We want to impose our desires and validate them through Ahlul Bayt. You see Imam Ali being concerned for his killer, yet 3 generations down you are saying his grandson celebrated the death of killers? Inconsistent.

    Purpose of tawassul

Waseelah is indeed quite broad, it is not only personalities and it is not only related to invocation/supplication. The mistake that is often made is that people seem to on one hand limit it's definition and application to personalities and invocations only, and at the same time within this narrow context extend waseelah beyond what has been taught (for example istighatha). Going back to your original post, of course one can and must invoke Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). There are various supplications within the Holy Qur'an and also those taught by the ma'soomeen (عليه السلام). At the same time, there is also a basis and context for invoking Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) for the sake of those loved dearly by Him. I think brother @Sumerian has explained the topic quite well in his reply above. Wallahu a'lam

The Arba'een rally is a good instance to prove the OP's question is based on a wrong basis. This shows that these are not all Iraqis who are anti Iran, but groups like ba'this who like criminals like Sadam. Generally, criminals (Sadams, Pahlavi's, Netanyahu's, Bin Salman's, Rajavi's, Trump's, Baghdadi's and ...) and those who like them hate Iran and Islamic Republic. Why should we dislike this fact?

    Mental health forum?

that's exactly the problem. the thought that telling someone "it's a hallucination" would actually work is nowhere near the truth. I have a schizophrenic brother who thinks the voices that talk to him are real. we tell him they're hallucinations, but he doesn't believe they are. mental illness is not something you should seek help for on the internet. seek professional help. for those who don't have money, there are public alternatives. but ALWAYS go to a professional.

    Purpose of tawassul

The concept of Tawassul and resorting to a means is adopted from the Qur'an. The clearest reference to Tawassul is mentioned in Sura al-Ma’ida where God clearly orders the faithful to benefit from the means in order to become close to God. “O you who have faith! Be wary of Allah, and seek the means of recourse to Him, and wage jihad in His way, so that you may be felicitous.” — The Qur'an, 5:35 The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and Imams are infallible and the source leading to the closeness / nearness of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). Also, in another verse, servants are required to hold fast, all together, to Allah’s cord. In this verse, according to Shia narrations, by “Allah’s cord”, the Ahl al-Bayt (a) of the Prophet (s) are meant. “Hold fast, all together, to Allah’s cord, and do not be divided [into sects].” — The Qur'an, 3:103. wasalam

    Purpose of Islam

They have been guided only by fitrah, but not revelation. Like a newborn baby or the mentally handicapped, they will be guided and held accountable only for what they have, no matter how limited. This is mercy. Even those of us who “know” Islam, our knowledge is superficial and we’ve extracted very little, so perhaps we’re not too far ahead in many respects ourselves.

The baath party if you search about Baath order you will find it was a great movement that created by British &Russian colonisers to erase Islam from Iraq to Palestine but Syrian leaders from Assad family just used it as a tool to achieve to power but they weren't loyal to Baath idea & despite great influence of Baath idea on Iraq & Syria the highest rank in Baath party (order of Baath) always from begining belonged to Kings of Jordan that current king of Jordan was the person that started so called war against Iran influence by calling that Iran wants to spread "Shia crecesnt" from Iraq to Palestine (or Lebanon) to have influence in this region but his supporters from Arab countries failed to keep Syria & Iraq but based on Shia Narrations Sufyani (la) will emerge from within Jordan & Syria that will have support of Israel &Arab countries that looks like that Jordan has the best trained military officers to help Sufyani (la) while KSA will ask help of Sufyani (la) help because itself can't fight with Imam Mahdi (aj) & his little army inside KSA that after destroying half of Sufyani (la) Iran &Yemen proxies really will enter to Iraq for defeating his army & purging Iraq from his proxies.

I think picking the views of a few individuals to label an entire community can be misleading. Going by this logic, I could ask, why do Iranians hate Iraqis so much? My basis: I) Some of ex inlaws would curse Arab zuwwaar to Mashhad anytime they saw them or talked about them, and once when I asked, she responded "because they killed our people during the war". 2) At an international conference on Islamic Tourism I attended in Mashhad in 2011, there was a paper presented by two Iranian researchers, part of which discussed alarming statistics on how Arab and Iraqi zuwaar are treated the worst despite being the ones who spent the most and brought greatest financial benefit during ziyarah trips. It is misguiding to take the views of some ultra nationalistic individuals or those who have had some bad experiences to reflect the views of an entire country.

That was not me labelling. It was a question related to heavy handedness. I assumed you thought I'd labelled you a proxy which isn't the case either. Then again, you seem to be comfortable throwing 'distasteful' remarks left right and centre, but get defensive when your belligerent attitude is questioned.

Re the other thread Mashallah brother @Reza Your sentences are so eloquently constructed. Rings true to your 'hiding behind a smokescreen' comment. It's also a shame you felt the need to lock the thread and have the final word. Judge, jury and executioner? As long as you felt good about yourself. And thank you for 'breaking down' my post. 1. ' Referring to members as “proxies” is distasteful labeling.' Proxies was used humorously and is far from distasteful labelling; in fact Iran and its proxies are proud of their stance. It would only be a distasteful label to one who feels he/she is a puppet. 2. 'To artificially manufacture evenhandedness and faux neutrality, a false equivalency is constructed with both “sides” somehow presented on the same moral plane. It’s all sleight of hand.' Superiority complex. 3. 'The “it’s not black and white” rhetoric is a common tactic of obfuscation, where simple truths are twisted into complex “nuanced” entanglements to distract and confuse people, dragging people into the weeds rather than allowing a true birds eye view perspective. Usually this tactic is to help the weaker side (or the more culpable one) hide behind a smokescreen. After all, with “grey areas” everything becomes subjective opinion, and it’s easier to weasel within it.' Talk about entanglements to distract and confuse people. 4. 'This all comes across as preachy, self-righteous, and condescending. Also, I’ve read better advice in a fortune cookie.' Preachy, self-righteous, and condescending indeed. Perhaps if you cut down on the Chinese takeaways and your superiority complex, you'd realise that the thread was a balanced attempt at pointing out a Fitna that's brewing through humour to ease the tension. There's no 'weak' or 'culpable' side and It's clear who's trying to 'weasel' here. There's a very serious Fitna brewing and we ought to realise that, which was the point of the 'cheeky and 'disingenuous' thread. Go ahead, ban me. BAN MEEE haha What a joke.
