@Propaganda_of_the_Deed Any other animal lovers! SOS! A cat left her new born kitten outside our kitchen this morning. We kept it in a cardboard box all morning hoping she would return to feed it but apparently she has abandoned it. What should we feed him? We don't get special liquid baby cat food/milk where we live. Shall I give it diluted cow milk through a syringe? Help, If it dies my kids will start Muharram in Ramadan.

Everyone, thank you very much for your help. @Heavenly_Silk It won't stop meowing, so I put an old flannel piece in its box and it snuggled against it and fell asleep. @Propaganda_of_the_Deed We don't get any kitten milk where I live.I followed an emergency recipe and made something out of baby formula and egg yolk and tried feeding it with a syringe but it wasn't very easy. I think the mother came to feed it once during the day and we are hoping it would come in the night too. It's less than 24 hours old.It won't even open its eyes. Let's pray he makes it.

@starlight oh my, how is the kitten now? Not cow milk, but perhaps goat milk, I'm not sure. First try giving it really soft cooked chicken or other meat. How old/big is it? Edit: I found this page. https://kittenrescue.org/2017/03/recipes-emergency-kitten-formula/

  7. Salam, There is an underlying issue as to why men are so demanding when it comes to sex. Unfortunately, we consider this topic to be “taboo”, but we need to discuss it. Pornography is affecting our community at large, both the youth and the elders. It’s a sad reality that the majority of men out there are addicted to pornography, and they are exposed to different kinds of videos which force them to explore new creative ways of having sex. The porn industry is a male-dominated industry, and it simply aims to fulfil the male fantasy of sex. There is evidence that the majority of the content is written and produced by men. It’s an industry which eroticises women’s inferior status to male power. Men are starting to neglect the emotional aspect of sex and are becoming very demanding. In some extreme cases, heavy consumption of porn can be one of the reasons for men raping and abusing women. @Islandsandmirrors even gave an example of a case where someone’s husband demanded sex, despite all the pain she went through. I know some will say that men are born this way, but it still doesn’t justify this in any shape or form. Our attitude towards women is a product of how the media portrays them – as sexual objects and toys. In Islam, we are not told to have this attitude. Imam ‘Ali ((عليه السلام).) says, “When you intend to have sex with your wife, do not rush because the woman (also) has needs." Just ponder over this hadith, what is our Imam (عليه السلام) teaching us? Doesn’t pornography contradict all this? The link between pornography (including other videos etc.) and this attitude men have is obvious. What are your thoughts?

  11. Adam didn’t receive prophethood until after disobeying the command and brought down to Earth.
    3 points
  12. Salaam, Yes, there are lots of commands. This whole thing started off with a command. Don’t eat from the tree! Then you had Moses with the Ten Commandments and the scripture with all these other commandments and Muhammad with praying 5 times a day and so forth. If you don’t want commands you can be an atheist or a Christian and believe Jesus died for your sins! Swipe your hands clean and live life free of commands. Some People want to worship God the way they want to. Allah has a way he wants to be worshipped. Allah Has explained how he wants to be worshipped because he is the creator. Human ego is part of the rebellion against God. You have free will in not having to do anything Allah commands, so yes you do you have the free will to believe or disbelieve, But if you believe in judgement day then you will have to explain your reasons for disobeying direct commands. So yes in essence There is really is no free will because there are consequences for disobeying and worshipping other than Allah. I can’t convince you to submit to Allah the way he wants you to, and truthfully nobody really can do that. That true submission to Allah is going to have to be 100 percent you. Allah knows your heart and only guides the righteous not the wrong doers. Allah may test in you ways and give you chances to accept true faith through life experiences some good and some bad. Either you are going to submit and accept his will or deny his signs. Even though Allah knows your outcome you do have a choice and a chance to make your own fate. Peace

  13. We believe in Him for our own sake, as brother AbdulKarim says, Allah does not need our worship. We believe in Him so that we may strive in justice, in modesty, in truth and in other righteous deeds. Worship is about remembering Him, because life becomes a drab affair of concrete, mobile screens and claustrophobic day-to-day survival. We need that equilibrium, and prayer along with other prescribed acts does that. It was once said, I believe by the poet Rabia Al-Adawiyya' If I adore You out of fear of Hell, burn me. If I adore You out of desire for Paradise, lock me from it. But if I adore You for Yourself, don't deny me of your eternal beauty'.

  15. As salaamun aleikum, I don’t know how practical it is, but have a pair of gloves handy and when it comes to dealing with the elderly of the opposite gender, put the gloves on before you shake hands or touch them. Ive seen women shaking Seyyed Khameneis hands with gloves on. The issue is not only about not "tempting" the opposite gender, but it is also to protect against the defilement of both souls through the contact of bare skin. The soul and the body have an overlap, if you may. By providing a barrier that prevents skin to skin contact, the souls remain pure. Of course, intention plays a BIG role here, so I am not at all advocating that "its ok for men and woment to run around touching each other willy nilly as long as they have gloves on". All im saying is, under certain circumstances, ive seen it done, but as always, we need to check our intentions and be honest with ourselves. If a person can’t get past that and be honest with themselves and their own intentions, then they got OTHER issues they need to address. W/s

  17. I was raised in a mixed religious home, so religion has been - mostly during my early years - an integral part of my life and identity. But as I passed my teens I started to reflect over the set of beliefs I had managed to compile from both parents (father Shia, mother Christian), perhaps indirectly as an attempt to reconcile both religions in one that could more easily be adopted to suit my daily life. It wasn't easy I tell you! With so many different perspectives I, by that time, had approached both religions, I ended up with so many almost contradicting answers to questions that each religion had left me with. I Gave up my reconciliation attempt. However, I am actually left with one question that keeps rocking my mind back and forth, and to which no one yet is to offer me a satisfying answer. I know God is the greatest, most whole, complete and so on, something both christianity and Islam agree on. But if that is a fact, what's in it for us to believe or not believe in him? Let me put in another way: God is there, everywhere, the creator, a totally independent Might that is so superior to anything else there are no words to describe it. And that's an unchangeable fact. God would still be whether we believe in him or not, right? Consequently, logic tells us that God actually wouldn't care if we believe in him or not, if we love him or not. He simply should be totally indifferent to what one tiny little thing of his creations think or say about him. But then follows: if so, why do we, the humans, need to show/expose/shout out, in groups or individually, our belief in God? Is it for the hope of getting something in return, for example protection from accidents, good fortune and health? Or is it out of sheer fear for some punishment? Why do we bother competing in declaring our religious beliefs ( with the ONE and Only God or the Trinity at the core) while God certainly needs not our testimony about His endless omnipotent and omniscient existence? Isn't this the epitome of being selfish and false, against God first and foremost? But if we, or at least the more honest among us, indeed would like to praise God for God's only sake, for Him being what He is, our Creator, so what? It should actually stay at it, arts (poems, music, paintings) should suffice expressing that. Or is it mandatory with the mystifying of the creation around us inducing a communicable God in it, for the sake of making this life bearable with its so many unknowns and a watcher and listener God? Isn't it enough for our well-being that we follow a good life path, being merciful, generous and loving towards each other, without engaging our inherited religious dogmas?

    no mosque to attend

I took shahada a year ago with people I've lost contact with. There is no mosque to attend. I've studied Islam online and prayed by myself. The closest masjid is in a neighboring city I can't travel to due to the lack of a car or other transportation. I'm trying to get what I need financially to move but am failing to be to save any money. I've tried to find Muslims to have a prayer group with but they don't exist in the area.

  19. Comprehensive answers on why slavery is morally wrong? Or why treating a woman like a sexual tool merely because she is a slave is detestable? It's not a rethoric question, even though it may obviously sound so. I doubt this actually exist. Being opposed to imposed male centered gender roles isn't rejecting the fact there are differences between men and women. Instead, it is saying that these differences shouldnt, in any way, justify discrimination and unjust treatments and assumptioms towards women.

  22. Believe it or not. I found this Dua on a website, (and it has been reposted on Facebook since the original blog/link can no longer be found) and I recited it religiously everyday and within 3 months, I met the person I would marry. If you haven’t found a suitable someone and are seriously interested in reciting this dua (ONLY if you are serious) then here’s the blog post. The dua is written in Arabic. I would recommend you follow its’ instructions (Recite the Dua at least 10 times everyday and ask Allah to grant you the qualities you are looking for in a spouse.) here it is (copied from another website) Everyone desires to have a soul mate. It is not very difficult to get married, nor is it hard to find a spouse. If you are honestly seeking to settle down, have a job and live happily there is a solution to your problem. This is the golden truth that can be put to test; for Muslims as well as non-Muslims. What I am about to share with you will change your life forever insha-Allah. Even the most talented, highly educated and most resourceful people (or organizations) in the entire world can not solve this problem; nor make any such promises to anyone. You will find books titled, "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus" but none of these books can guarantee a marriage or a spouse. However, there is one Internationally renowned book that provides the solution. In fact, it challenges mankind to apply its formula and experience the beauty and sweetness of becoming married. In as much as many have tried to "Burn" the Qur'an, accused it of spreading violence and terrorism; surprisingly it happens to be the ONLY Book on the planet Earth that teaches the message of love, affection and marriage (besides a million other great things). So are you ready to embark on this journey? Are you sincerely seeking to get married? Are you ready to apply the Quranic truth and experience its reality? Or are you just playing around? Today, hundreds and thousands of "match-makers" try and link people together. But the beauty of the Qur'an is in its simplicity. I met my wife and married her after reading this verse of the Glorious Qur'an. Let me share with you the golden verse of the Noble Qur'an that holds the golden keys to getting married. All you have to do on a daily basis is start reciting this verse from the Holy Qur'an:Rabbi inni lemaa anzalta elayya min khairin faqeer (Chapter 28, verse 24)Verse 24 is the Supplication or "Du'a" that everyone needs to read, if not memorize. Whenever, you feel lonely and full of desire for a spouse, or feel the pain of not having a wife or husband, then start reading this dua. Read it standing, sitting, walking, laying, before prayers, after prayers and in any mode of your daily activities and as many times. Below is the Arabic of what was transliterated above:رَبِّ إِنِّى لِمَآ أَنزَلۡتَ إِلَىَّ مِنۡ خَيۡرٍ۬ فَقِيرٌ۬Insha Allah within 4-months you will see the doors open and Allah ta'ala will alleviate/remove your pain by providing you with a spouse. So, what you have to do is after you read this verse a number of times; make sure to ask Allah (God) in a way similar to what follows:"Oh Allah! You have made every living thing in pairs. The sincere, beautiful and pious pair that you have created for me, please give it to me" It is recommended that one recites this verse at least 10 times and after finishing this dua ask Allah Almighty for a spouse that is kind, beautiful, soft hearted, pious, loving and a gentle soul mate. What you want in your spouse is what you should ask but if you don't ask for piety or kind heartedness then don't blame anyone but yourself.Interesting FactsYou would have to turn your attention to Suratul-Qasas (Arabic: سورة القصص‎) (The Stories). This is the 28th surah (chapter) of the Qur'an with 88 ayats (verses). Lexically, "Qasas" means to relate events in their proper sequence. In fact, this Surah details the story of the Sayyidna Musa alayhi salaam (Prophet Moses). So, here is the background to this wonderful incident as explained in the Qur'an: And a man came from the uttermost part of the city, running. He said: O Musa! Lo! the chiefs take counsel against thee to slay thee; therefor escape. Lo! I am of those who give thee good advice (20) So he (Sayyidna Musa alayhi salaam) escaped from thence, fearing, vigilant. He said: Ya Rab! Deliver me from the wrongdoing folk. (21) And when he turned his face toward Midian, he said: Per adventure my Lord will guide me in the right road. (22) And when he came unto the water of Midian he found there a whole tribe of men, watering. And he found apart from them two women keeping back (their flocks). He said: What aileth you? The two said: We cannot give (our flocks) to drink till the shepherds return from the water; and our father is a very old man. (23) So he watered (their flock) for them. Then he turned aside into the shade, and said: My Lord! I am needy of whatever good Thou sendest down for me. (24) So, why does this supplication work so well? Allah ta'ala gives the response in the Qur'an immediately after this verse: Then there came unto him one of the two women, walking shyly. She said: Lo! my father biddeth thee, that he may reward thee with a payment for that thou didst water (the flock) for us. Then, when he came unto him and told him the (whole) story, he said: Fear not! Thou hast escaped from the wrongdoing folk. (25) One of the two women said, O my father! Hire him. For the best (man) that thou can hire is the strong, the trustworthy.(26) Therefore, one can see that Sayyidna Musa alayhi salaam found a spouse and he landed himself a job. The key Arabic word to note is that after Sayyidna Musa alayhi salaam finished his dua, the response from Allah ta'ala was very fast; otherwise known in Arabic as "Bis-sura'a" (speedy). Verse 25 starts with the Arabic word "Fa Jaa'at huma...". Any verse that starts with "faa" and not "waa" is an indication that the response will be immediate.

  24. Yes I agree, Predestination is a strong word. Just because Allah knows the outcome doesn’t mean it’s predestined for us. We have to capability to alter the outcome. Allah is most Merciful to his believers and those who seek his mercy, he is not most merciful to disbelievers and those who spread mischief and disobey his commands without repentance. Hell wasnt created for no reason so obviously Allah punishes. My friend said that there is too many words like commands and punishments etc. The Holy Qur'an contains such words. Maybe he wants to accept all the mercy of Allah but not the other stuff and I can’t blame him, but We accept all the Qur'an as written. If Allah wanted to, he could have written a book with one page that said He is most merciful, now go do whatever you like! In the Qur'an Allah does start off introducing himself and then goes on to say he’s most gracious most merciful, but then comes all the other stuff which are commands and instruction for his believers according to his standards. It could be that simple with Islam and you could just believe in “there’s no God but Allah” and ignore everything else because you just want the mercy and benevolence part of Allah, but that comes with a heavy price if you die without repenting for ignoring everything else because you just wanted the most merciful part which allowed you to do whatever sins without penalty. That my friend sounds like Pagan Christianity actually. A mix somewhere in between “Muhammad died for all of our sins and Allah is most merciful so everything is all good?”

  27. That would make sense, since which ever garden Adam (a) was on, there was no people at that time and no Shar'iah for anyone to follow. So there is no need for a Prophet. But another follow up question — Aren't Prophets... Prophets from birth? Sure, they may not declare the Prophethood to the people until they are old, but do they not have the characteristics of a Prophet (knowledge, infallibility) from birth. Is Adam (a) an exception to this because Shari'ah didn't exist yet?

  28. Word "salat " prayer in the verse 70:23 & 70:34 is singular.does it mean that only one salat is required to enter in to the jannat? plus I m not against the wilayat. Wilayat is superior than salat and best among all the things. I quote part of the long hadith in support of the claim. Ali b. Ibrahim from his father and Abdullah b. al-Salt together from Hamad b. Isha from Harij b. Abdullah from Zurara from Abi Ja’far (عليه السلام). He(عليه السلام) said Islam is built upon five things over the Salat and the Zakat and the Hajj and the Sawm and the Wilayat. Zurara said I asked which thing is afdhal from that ?. then he(عليه السلام) said “the Wilayat” is afdhal because that is their key and al-Wali is guide over them…….. Peak of the affair, and highest of it, and it’s key and door of the things and pleasure of the Rahman is obedience of Imam after his Marifat. Allah mighty and majestic said “ who obeys the messenger then surely he obeyed Allah and whoever turns away then we have not sent you over them as a guardian.”(4:80). If a man stands during the night and fasts during the day and gives his total properties in charity and perform Hajj every year and don’t know the wilayat of Wali of Allah and does not befriend him, his all deeds will be returned back to him it is not upon Allah for him to give any portion of his reward and he is not from ahl al-Iman….. 34. True. MemriTV, Breitbart, and ESPECIALLY culturewatchnews are NOT credible. Culturewatchnews probably has a 100 regular viewers MAX. With no notoriety comes no credibility. That being said, if you do lateral reading (checking other news outlets) their information for this particular article is accurate, but it clearly uses wording that attempts to influence readers by appealing to emotion or stereotypes. All you need to do is read their 'about' section to see their EXTREME bias, and I think your dad who watches MSN would HATE it. MEMRI is based in Washington DC and its founder is a former Israeli intelligence officer Yigal Carmon. r/MemriTVmemes is hilarious. MEMRI has gained heavy notoriety (KnowYourMeme) for its absurd translations of news programs, making for hilarious memes where people alter their subtitles. Overall MEMRI is a questionable source with the following bias: Right, Propaganda, Conspiracy. Mediabiasfactcheck.com/middle-east-media-research-institute-memri Snopes.com/?s=memri According to Source Watch "MEMRI is an Israeli propaganda organization that selectively translates materials materials from the Arab/Muslim press purportedly demonstrating hostility against Israel/Jews". Under Stephen Bannon (executive chairman since 2012) it became more nationalist and a vocal outlet for the alt-right. In general, the majority of the stories favour the right and are highly pro-Trump in tone and story selection. Overall, it is extremely sensationalist and biased. It is a questionable source. Reasoning: Extreme Right, Propaganda, Conspiracy, Failed Fact Checks. No. We have to as Muslims acknowledge that this idiocy exists and similar things are being taught in Muslim schools all around the world. I think Muslims should stop blaming the west for everything and start prosecuting whoever is teaching this nonsense.

    Men are demanding

Didn't say they would be the same, though I disagree about women being more emotional. (I've never seen a woman punch a wall or throw a game controller because she lost a video game.) Are you excusing insensitivity or do you have a point to make that I'm missing here? Even if the man in question is emotionally immature, I can't help but wonder whether his wife expressed to him that she was in discomfort or pain. Women tend to be passive and then complain about their husbands not reading their minds.

@Nevsevug if you look at the family trees of European royalty and the genetic problems they had, it becomes clear why The West considers cousin marriage almost incest. But you're absolutely right that it's only harmful after repeated generations. 40. Indeed these genral testimonies arent they ones that can be related with then verse 70:33 as verse after it implies that these are required to enter gardens. Plus in support are tons of ahadith of wilayat. If I begin quoting, it would take days even months to do so. Therefore im just presenting main hadiths! When Imam allowed to take names in namaz, who are you to im validate namaz with name of Ali in tashahud which isnt even fixed! Or you know more than Imams and make tashahud fixed and call taking Imams name as biddah? Who so hate with Ali (عليه السلام)?

Imagine this same heart is going to feel and see all the wonders and sings of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) in His infinity Paradise. It connect us with Ahlul Bayt (عليه السلام) and the rest of all the most beautiful and blessed creatures. The radiant face shall shine because of the pure heart that is going to look at His (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) Glory and rewards: [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, Looking at their Lord. TAQWA IN RAMADHAAN

AAMAL TO BE PERFORMED ONLY DURING NIGHT The recommended rites that are dedicated to the nights of Ramadan are as follows: First: It is recommended to postpone breaking one’s fast later than the Isha’ Prayer unless one is too weak to keep fasting or one is being waited by people to break the fasting altogether, in an invitation for example. Second: It is recommended to begin breaking the fast with utterly legally gotten food, especially dates. This act doubles the reward of the prayer to four hundred folds. It is also advisable to break the fast with dates, ripe dates, candy, sugar-candy, and cool water. Third: It is recommended to say the familiar supplicatory prayers of breaking the fast, such as the following: اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ، وَعَلٰى رِزْقِكَ اَفْطَرْتُ، وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ، One who says this supplicatory prayer will be awarded, by Almighty Allah, the rewards of all those who observe fasting on that day. Sayyid ibn Tawus and al-Kaf’ami have narrated the supplicatory prayer that begins with: اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ النُّوْرِ الْعَظِيْمِ This supplicatory prayer also brings about a great merit. It has been narrated that Imam Ali((عليه السلام).) used to say the following supplicatory prayer when he would break his fasting: بِسْمِ اللهِ اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْنَا وَعَلٰى رِزْقِكَ اَفْطَرْنَا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ۔ Fourth: It is recommended to say the following imploration for forgiveness at the first bite of the food with which the fasting is broken: بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ، يَا وَاسِعَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ اِغْفِرْ لِيْ۔ Forgiveness of Almighty Allah is the reward of those who say this imploration. A Hadith reads: Almighty Allah releases from Hellfire one million persons at the last hour of every day in Ramadan; therefore, pray Him to include you with these released ones. Fifth: It is recommended to recite Surah al-Qadr at breaking the fast. Sixth: It is recommended to give alms at the time of breaking the fast and to offer food to the other fasters even if with a single date and a drink of water. Concerning this, the Holy Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).a.) is reported to have said, “Verily, anyone who offers food for a faster in Ramadan will have the same reward that is decided for the faster without having any amount of his reward reduced and will have the same reward of acting good deeds according to the power of that food.” ‘Allamah al-Hilli, in al-Risalah al-Sa’diyyah, has narrated that Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq((عليه السلام).) said, “As for any believer who feeds another believer with a single bite of food in Ramadan, Almighty Allah will decide for him the reward of manumitting thirty believing slaves and will decide to respond to his prayers.” Seventh: Narrations have confirmed that it is advisable to recite Surah al-Qadr one thousand times a night. Eighth: When possible, it is recommended to recite Surah al-Dukhan (No. 44) one hundred times a night. Ninth: Sayyid ibn Tawus has mentioned that if one says the following supplicatory prayer each night in Ramadan, his sins of forty years will be forgiven: Tenth: It is recommended to say the previously mentioned supplicatory prayer known as Dua al-Hajj after the Maghrib Prayer.

  45. Indeed it's not right to generalize. I would even dare to say it's not that men are somehow naturally more demanding, but that they have been educated under already accepted sexist world views. It is assumed that women are going to take the caring role, and that means that they are somehow there to please several desires. One of you mentioned sexual desires. Indeed, these world views have also influenced how both genders view sex itself. Men still view it as something pleasurable, while women, due to their caring role, believe they are expected to offer sex to their male partners. It's not that they dislike sex, but that sex cannot be enjoyed with that mentality. Is it women's fault? Indeed not, neither it's men specifically. Problem relies in education, in sexist education, and both men AND women are responsible to change themselves to overcome sexism. Obviously, due to the selfish nature of humanity, men are less likely to care about this issue. Beyond this point is where idiots, pigs, male chauvinists, etc. appear.

  46. Fair enough, though since it is an actual translation of a lesson that was given, the translator wouldn't really change around the order such that it didn't reflect the order the actual lesson was given by the Shaykh. There are many verses in the Qur'an that show guidance and belief cannot be enforced upon someone ontologically, and as a matter of fact, there is no expectation that everyone should even become guided, and the Prophet (p) is repeatedly told to simply do his responsibility of showing the truth - the rest is on the individual to accept or not.

    Living in Iran

I am not talking about asylum and I am not talking a mass influx of immigrants either.I meant a carefully controlled long term work and later on maybe citizenship option for skilled and professional Shia people who might be interested in moving from a non Islamic country to a Shia country.

    Will Bolton Get His War?

Its not just Bolton that wants the war, its also... Benjamin Netanyahu Steve Bannon Robert Mercer Sheldon Adelson Haim Saban Mohammed Bin Salman Vladimir Putin Theresa May Every Arms manufacturer in the U.S. and Europe Every Petroleum Exec. who's companies stand to lose financially if the Persian Oil Patch is tapped and a physical pipeline is constructed from Iran/Iraq into Europe, Russia, China and India. Every Natural Gas Exec. as well. Every Evangelical Every Zionist Every Wahabbi/Salafi All of this is what is behind the Iran War. All about money and preventing the Petroleum from flowing from Iran/Iraq while maintaining the Saudi prodiction. The Israel angle only pertains to Evangelicals and Zionists. Its mostly about $$$. Note: I left Donald Trump off the list because he's not capapble of complex thought. He's a minion that does what his Evangelical masters tell him what to do.
