Once you are alone, all by yourself, spontaneously and without you engineering it, see who you miss the most in your loneliness. This is the most accurate test for yourself of the person you love the most in your life. Here’s the scary thought, how many times Allah came on top? Now here’s more scary thought, Allah does not come cheap, He would never grant you His precious love until He becomes your true love, your first priority. I’m still shivering!!!

Im not so sure about that. In Ayatollah Khoie book of al bayan fee tasfisr al Qur'an, he has several chapters on this issue. He points out that the 7 letters, ahruf, is a Sunni concept which we do not find in our reports. He points out several instances where the Imams AS corrected people speech or reciting the Qur'an. The view that the Qur'an was revealed in more than oe form, is flatly rejected by Ayatollah Khoie, and he presents so much evidence, that it is really beyond doubt. The view that it was changed, is certainly true to a point, however, the change is in two forms, abrogation, eg intentional and the second is in meaning, eg people have been mislead by hadith that such and such a verse was revealed about such a situation.

    What vibes do you get?

Salam, I believe that even online you can get certain vibes from users, which emanates from their souls, travels through their words, on to our vibe sensors. Everyone is unique and probably give off a certain vibe. It's our job to be creative and descriptive to describe the vibe we get from other users. So now, pick a user and describe what sort of vibes you get from him/her? Don't just say "happy vibes", be more creative.

I’ve been here long enough to know it’s just a way to poke at those eye-ranians every year. I stopped taking this yearly ShiaChat tradition seriously years ago (although it’s a lot tamer these days than previous years).

Maybe he is just shy around unfamiliar women. Maybe you should give it more time before you make a decision. But if you absolutely can't imagine living your life with this person, it doesn't matter how nice, good, or religious he is, if you marry you will both be unhappy.

We’re not really full out eating it. It’s more just like tasting it a bit for shifa/cure/blessings and I don’t believe there’s an issue with that. Actually the brother already said he read about this in Mafathi...So, there is no issue in doing this at all.

Salam, Unfortunately we have many people who are confused when it comes to the topic of justice. Polluted ideas and thoughts being spread by people who don't value faith. It is our duty to be rational and prove that Allah is just. Many people take a certain tragedy and say "look Allah is so evil, people are suffering and he is doing nothing about it". Let me say one thing! Allah does not do any evil act as he knows the value of good. There is absolutely no reason for God to do evil. In fact, Allah has not even created evil, rather he created creatures who misuse their faculties to do evil deeds. Allah is wise and all his works must display wisdom. People who claim that God is evil and cruel to his creatures, need to assume the following points: (1) God is ignorant of the action and does not know that it is evil, nor does he know the effects of that action. (2) God knows what he has done, but has been compelled to do it. (3) It is necessary for God to do it although he knows it is evil (implying God is in need of something) (4) God does it at his pleasure Consider the following assumptions, and you'll realise how they are deficiencies and limit God. This is not the belief held by us, because we believe in a perfect God. God is never ignorant of an action as his eternal knowledge allows him to know the outcome. God can never be compelled to do an evil act as he is powerful. Allah is also not in need of anything, therefore it is not necessary for him to do evil to gain something, unlike humans who may do evil acts simply for power. Finally, Allah will never do something evil for pleasure, as he is not in need to seek pleasure, and he does not have emotions which change. I just listed these rational proofs which have been provided by our great scholars. Just don't give in to the countless rubbish views that people are throwing at us! People just want to promote skepticsm and make all confused. Justice of Allah is the pillar of our faith, and you should be certain that we believe in a God who can't do evil.

    Assuming fakeness in nice people

I have seen some people complain when someone or people in general are being nice by saying this is all fake. What is the point of such a negative and miserable outlook in life? And is it really that serious that one has to complain about it? If I walk into an office for a service, whatever it is, I expect the worker to offer me good customer service which includes a pleasant look and tone, even if it is "fake". Would you rather they be "real" and appear gloomy? lol

Brother, if someone literally goes insane as in, has a complete break from reality (starts hearing and seeing things) or is mentally disabled and commits suicide, then that isn’t blameworthy. Suicide is haram to the vast majority because they are not mentally impaired to the point that they don’t understand their actions.

Since this event, Jews, Christians, and Muslims are coming together in unity and speaking out against savagery that hurts all Abrahamic faiths. In Friday prayers everywhere (including where I went yesterday), other faith groups protected the mosques while prayers took place. It was a wonderful sight to see. Everyones conviction and faith in God has increased with this unity. This shooter’s name has already been forgotten and his manifesto in the virtual trash bin, and only God’s name is being spoken. Truly God is the best of planners.

I have heard something in the lines of that theres a hadith that says that dajjal(la) will be killed on the day of nowrooz. Has anyone heard of this before/have sources? Actually, I found this while googling just now from the offical site of ayatollah Khamenei: http://english.Khamenei.ir/news/5548/Nowruz-is-the-day-when-Dajjal-will-be-killed-by-Imam-Mahdi-Ayatollah By the way, nowrooz is not just any day. Astronomically, its the day of March equinox, which means that the Earth is leaning equally towards the sun. Otherwise it is either leaning more on the "lower" half of the plant or the "upper" half. Which makes it either summer or winter depending on which half you live at.

Only Allah knows what was in your heart and what was your intention. I believe the Islamic day starts/ends at Maghrib (though I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong) - 12am is a man-made construct. p.s. good job doing all your prayers in the end, that must have been hard. Salam Warilla see my post above , but to answer your question, the evidence is clear in the type of readings we have present today, some have missing or added words like هو . Both would be literary sound. Some words are changed entirely, the lack of dots in early manuscripts meant linguists had to theorize what the proper word was. So instead of يسيركم they say ينشركم - close meaning but they are two different words. Both readings are valid.

I read in mafatih AL jinan that soil of grave of Imams that buried in baqi can be eaten for Shifa(cure) too but soil of Karbala more advised than the dust from their graves

I have only heard this about the soil of Karbala. However, it makes sense regarding Jaanat ul Baqi, as well as any other soil of the graves of the Ahle Bayt (عليه السلام). However, I've heard that the soil of Karbala is becoming limited due to the construction. I'm not sure if the blessed soil includes anywhere in Karbala, or it has to specifically be from the soil surrounding the grave of Imam Hussain (عليه السلام). Based on that you would have to confirm that the soil of Kazmain, Najaf or Samarrah is indeed the soil of the grave and not just soil from anywhere in the surrounding area. The soil of Karbala contains the blood of Imam Hussain (عليه السلام), as well as the other Holy Martyrs, so that's why that soil is given preference. There wasn't blood spilled on the grave soil of any of the other Ahle Bayt (عليه السلام). BTW...good luck getting your hands on the soil from Jannut ul Baqi. Saudi keeps an eye on that big time.

With all due respect I think you should forget about all his worldly achievements and his wealth etc. Yes, the age difference is a bit much, but at the end of the day, you should do whatever is in the best interests of your daughter. If she likes this guy, maybe it's a good idea to let her get to know him more, if not, she wont marry him.
  42. 1 point
Excuse me for saying this (and Allah forgive me if I am wrong) but "religious and rich" sounds to me as an oxymoron. If you are rich you thoughts are in dunya. If you are religious you thoughts are in akhira. Maybe one of the things is not true about him. I think your responsibility as a father is to do what is good for your daughter. Not so much what is personally good for you, what people say or how rich your son in law will be. Age difference could be creepy, but doesn't need to be. Youthful, rich and not married before sounds like red flags to me.

It's best to avoid the comments section of anything that has to do with Islam or Muslims, it will just break your heart. Plus I don't think it accurately projects the thoughts of most people, there are a lot of trolls and bots and trouble makers that are just trying to dissuade people from being open minded about Islam/Muslims.

The Qur'an permits hitting wives under one context—that she is rebelliously, and shameless adulterous and flaunts it in front of her husband. This doesn’t give him the right to hit his wife and be abusive since the whole surah is about exceptional cases (insect, wives commiting adultery, etc.)

Melatonins great and safe. I don’t know how much youre using, but ive used up to 20mg before and been ok, just a lil tired the next day. I used that amount when I quit using the other stuff I was using and stepped down to 5-10mg per night. The science says somewhere between 1 to 3 mg should be sufficient for people, but not all of us are the same and I found 5 to 10 to be the most effective for me. It doesn't at all help with my constant waking up in the middle of the night, like last night, I woke up every hour for the first five hours. Needless to say I'm burned out as heck today. Be super careful with the Benadryl, especially if you're taking them regularly and a lot at a time. I used to take up the seven pills per night just to fall asleep, and the next day was literal hell for me because of The Hangover effect, but that's the least of my concerns when it comes to Benadryl. Any of the drugs that have the word "anti" in front of them, like antihistamine anti-nausea anti-anxiety Etc, almost ALL of them deplete the brain of acetylcholine. They have been linked to dementia and Alzheimer's later on in life. A quick google search will turn up many medical journal articles about it. Theyre dangerous. When I found out the link, I dropped all those drugs. My mother has dementia, and I'm telling you, it's a horror for us as a family to go through, and I have no idea how hard it must be for her personally. All I know is she repeatedly tells me that she wishes she was dead, she wishes life was over, she says life has gone on for too long, and then she asks me if I ever just wish life would end The Dr... put her on medication for this, and it made things worse. I think it's just the fact that someone who can't remember things past 2 minutes, doesn't know where they're at, doesn't recognize people, doesn't understand why things are going on around them, can’t follow converstaions through, and so on and so forth is enough to make a person want to die I don't think that's the kind of thing that's relieved by anti depression meds cuz shes still going to have the same problems ! She repeats everything she says after 2 minutes maximum. Everything. Same questions, same concerns, over and over and over and over and over ad infinitum. And there's many more problems too, but this isn't the thread for me to dump all the stresses of having a family member w dementia and the horrors of what thats like..Dementias not a joke, and I personally recommend getting off of any of that stuff because it's a special kind of hell that none of us ever want to experience. All I'm saying, is at least dump the Benadryl, esp if it doesnt work. If you've got to take the prescription anti-anxiety meds, then take them in the least amount as possible, or, like sister @starlight said, if the drugs arent working, have yourself reevaluated and get them changed. I know there are antidepressant meds out there that do not cause dementia, I was on one of them once, but whether that particular one would work for you or not is between you and your doctor's and of course, a matter of trial and error. So I'm not trying to scare you by telling this, I'm just giving you some truth about the side effects of some of these meds. I don't know anything about Prozac so I'm not going to speak on that. Just please be carefull with your brain, its the only one you have. Oh, one last thing, if you've been taking these drugs readily, like every night, and then you stop, be it slowly or cold turkey, at first, you're going to have more problems falling asleep than you did before. That's normal. When I stopped taking the stuff I took, it took me about four or five days before I could finally fall asleep without taking anything other than melatonin. My sleep is completely jacked up, but eventually I was able to fall asleep w/o prescription meds/benadryl etc. The first 4-5 nights, I didn't get ANY sleep at all, I tossed and turned, I was a miserable person the next day, so just be on the lookout for that if you do decide to drop these things. Don't just go through a night or two of sleeplessness and then decide you MUST go back and take them again, because then you'll just end up in a never-ending cycle of taking them. You've got to get through the first few nights before you will feel anybrelief and for your body to regain its homeostasis, and essentially, to detox. Even if the meds aren't working, our brains build get used to having them there, so when we stop, the brain doesn't know what to do and has to start readjusting itself to function without it, so even though the medication is not working for you, there is still the issue of your brain needing to adjust to it not being there. Everything I said may not apply to you at all, and I sincerely hope it doesnt, but because I don't really know what your usage of these products are, I'm responding according to the life knowledge I currently have, so I apologize if I have spoken wrongfully. W/s
