  3. To summarise points of @Carlzone @notme and to what I understand is that it is just how you take the disease. Like for example, Ali Banat an australian rich guy diagnosed with cancer called it a gift by Allah and after being diagnosed with it he started doing absolute charity stating something like that Allah has given him a chance to do all this work by gifting him cancer. He also said that his only regret was that a man in suit (doctor) had to tell him that he is going to die where as Allah in quran always mentioned about death. So it is also how we take the illnesses. I will surel

    Origin of diseases

Some illnesses are caused by our actions or the actions of others. Other illnesses might be a test or even a blessing. For example of a possible blessing, a person with autism has social difficulties, but he also has a unique way of thinking and seeing the world which is valuable. A person who is physically handicapped might be forced to focus more on intellectual pursuits which society needs.

  7. Any adult Muslim can change their name if they want to, but it's only required if your name has a bad meaning. For example, a convert named Dionysus (the Greek god of wine) should probably change his name. One named Peter (meaning rock, stability) doesn't have to. Changing surname is probably discouraged because it might be seen as denial of or even breaking ties with your family, which is haram. I assume the same rules apply though - as long as your intention isn't to use a name change to separate from your family, it's allowed but not required.

For example, if I've been told by my sister that Elizabeth is really pretty and she'd make a good wife for me, I can look at her while she's eating in the cafeteria to see if she's attractive to me or not. In doing so, I can look at not just her face but also other parts of her body which I may deem important for physical attraction in marriage. For those few minutes or whatever that I need to determine if I would find her attractive enough to be married to, looking at her is not haram. Once I've got the information

FIL’AKOVO, SLOVAKIA—According to a report in The Slovak Spectator, archaeologist Viktória Tittonová led an investigation of an area of a castle located near what is now the Slovakia-Hungary border. “We found silver coins, ceramics, pipes, knives, and even vessels and sacks with the remains of grains,” she said. The team also uncovered pieces of a turbah, a clay disc that may have been used by Shia Muslims during prayer to symbolize the earth. The turbah is thought to date to the sixteenth or seventeenth centuries, when the town of Fil’akovo was part of the Ottoman Empire. Older fortifications

  13. Salam, We often just tend to focus on the ujb of the believers. The ujb of the faithless is also a very dangerous state to be in. We often wonder why some people tend to disagree with everything, especially when it comes to Islamic laws. The answer isn't that these person are intellectual or sophisticated. These type of people reach such a state where they have no clarity or vision. Allah is the only one who guides us through his will, and if we aren't guided, then we'll always be confused. This is why I always find some people who constantly complain rather than humbling themselve

If you ever heard or read Fidel Castro explain why he was an atheist it was because of the role of the Catholic Church in Cuba supporting the rich over the poor. Its not exactly the same as me but we were taught that Jesus is white and therefore as the son of God, believe it or not God is white so we can steal your rich resources and land and turn you into slaves. They didnt say in words but that is the meaning of it all. I don't like Shia culture or identity. I love and admire the Shia thought. As w

Sometimes it's definitely punishment because you've wronged your soul and when you get to know yourself better you can become completely free from the disease. I can give you an example. When I was younger I suffered severely from an eating disorder. It was really bad. It took over my whole life. I couldn't eat anything without feeling anxiety or guilt. When I got to know myself better I understood what it was all about and why I was treating myself so badly. I accepted help and treatment by specialists and I h

Abu bakr did this or Ummar said that or Husayn was beheaded in Karbala because this guy did or said that or Ali was supposed to be Caliph or he was Caliph and got murdered. What does that have anything to do with today? The only comforting facts is that atleast they were real people and everybody agrees that they existed and the historical accounts are not disputed by even the most fanatical Salafi. Where is the concept of truth there? Where is logic and philosoph

But gratitude isn't enough, it is easy to say thank you and then just forget about it, what needs to be emphasized is the importance of building a country that works for all, which is the role of Iraqi politicians but also the Iraqi people at home and abroad so that the conditions that inspired the rise of these heinous barbarism never happen again and no more people have to die to defend the country.

We are already extremely restricted as hijabis and now we need to cover ourselves from women too. I personally don't like to be covered up. And I happen to like tight clothes. I'm usually the one wearing the tightest outfits amongst females. I even do yoga and other types of excersize at home now because I don't like to have to wear all those extra layers of clothes like I used to in yoga groups. I want to feel free.

  35. Exactly. My problem with this fatwa is the disregard of permission which gives pervs a free card to prey upon nonsuspecting females. That is extremely disrespectful. Since men don't feel shame the same way females do I'm gonna give an exaggerated example to hopefully make them understand a little better. What if stranger men took photos of your intimate details and without your knowledge or consent showed these pictures to sisters who are looking to get married. These women then check if you literally measure up to their standards and then decide to reject or pursue you. If they re

  37. And who argued that the fatwa is making it obligatory? The fatwa is saying that in such scenarios, it is halal for a man to see a woman without hijab. It is not saying that it's wajib. Also, how exactly does the permission of the father, brother or even the woman herself come into the discussion at all to begin with? If a man wants to see a woman, all he has to do is pull his head up and look at her. Normally, this would be haram. The fatwa is saying it is halal for the purpose of marriage. Do you not look at women ever in your life? Are you going to tell me you have not, on one single oc

    Conversion to Shi'ism

Peace, Shiism is based on aql (intellect) and naql (tradition). The principles upon which Shiism is founded include the following: tawhid (monotheism), `adl (justice), and walaya (vicegerency). Monotheism is the belief in Allah, the Creator and Sustainer and Lord, who is beyond imagination, beyond sight and sense, beyond infinity, and beyond comparison. `Adl is the belief that all that occurs in this world is recorded and accounted for. Walaya is the belief that God sends representatives of Him to us, who demonstrate His wisdom, His beauty, His mercy, and His justice. Without a found

Even though "raised as a Roman Catholic" and even attended "Catholic" schools almost my entire miserable school life led one to be a hardcore committed atheist/agnostic (the two do not make a difference as far as I am concerned). Atheism/Agnosticism is a burden. It's as if one lives life with science and logic without any insight at all into meaning. One commits many sins and hurts a many innocent person without being self-aware at all of this until many years later. One lives life fearing death because as an atheist t

And again if we take litteraly the second verse you quoted that mean we could litteraly ask help to no one. That means you should not go to a doctor or to a teacher for asking helps wich is totally non sense. The quran is a text which is supposed to be read with all the verses and not just taking few verses alone out of context . The same could be done about the last narration you quoted. At the end of the day all depend to Allah and if we ask helps from our holy imams

One lady recently told me a man married her for a passport. That was his secret for many years while they lived together. As soon as he got it he left her without any note. A passage of Qur’an could be quick but if you augment it with a bit of extra reading of a Tafseer, and then think more about it too, it could easily be a 5min. to half an hour exercise.
